Quantum Symmetric Pairs and the Reflection Equation

It is shown that central elements in G. Letzter's quantum group analogs of symmetric pairs lead to solutions of the reflection equation. This clarifies the relation between Letzter's approach to quantum symmetric pairs and the approach taken by M. Noumi, T. Sugitani, and M. Dijkhuizen. We develop general tools to show that a Noumi-Sugitani-Dijkhuizen type construction of quantum symmetric pairs can be performed preserving spherical representations from the classical situation. These tools apply to the symmetric pair FII and to all symmetric pairs which correspond to an automorphism of the underlying Dynkin diagram. Hence Noumi-Sugitani-Dijkhuizen type constructions with desirable properties are possible for various symmetric pairs for exceptional Lie algebras.

$\U_q(sl(n))$-invariant quantization of symmetric coadjoint orbits via reflection equation algebra

We study relations between the two-parameter $\U_q(sl(n))$-invariant deformation quantization on $sl^*(n)$ and the reflection equation algebra. The latter is described by a quantum permutation on $\End(\C^n)$ given explicitly. The reflection equation algebra is used for constructing the one-parameter quantization on coadjoint orbits, including symmetric and certain bisymmetric and nilpotent ones. Our approach is based on embedding the quantized function algebras on the orbits into the algebra of functions on the quantum group $SL_q(n)$ via reflection equation algebra characters.

Dunkl Operators and Canonical Invariants of Reflection Groups

Using Dunkl operators, we introduce a continuous family of canonical invariants of finite reflection groups. We verify that the elementary canonical invariants of the symmetric group are deformations of the elementary symmetric polynomials. We also compute the canonical invariants for all dihedral groups as certain hypergeometric functions.

Solution to the reflection equation related to the $ι$quantum group of type AII

A solution to the reflection equation associated to a coideal subalgebra of $U_q(A_{2n-1}^{(1)})$ of type AII in the symmetric tensor representations is presented. If parameters of the coideal subalgebra are suitably chosen, the $K$ matrix does not depend on the quantum parameter $q$ and still agrees with a solution in arXiv:nlin/0411044 at $q=0$.

Reflection algebras for sl(2) and gl(1|1)

We present a generalization the G. Letzter's theory of quantum symmetric pairs of semisimple Lie algebras for the case of quantum affine algebras. We then study solutions of the reflection equation for the quantum affine algebras sl(2) and gl(1|1) and their Yangian limit for singlet (diagonal) and vector (non-diagonal) boundary conditions. We construct the corresponding quantum affine coideal subalgebras that are based on the quantum symmetric pairs, and the (generalized) twisted Yangians.

Twisted Yangians for symmetric pairs of types B, C, D

We study a class of quantized enveloping algebras, called twisted Yangians, associated with the symmetric pairs of types B, C, D in Cartan's classification. These algebras can be regarded as coideal subalgebras of the extended Yangian for orthogonal or symplectic Lie algebras. They can also be presented as quotients of a reflection algebra by additional symmetry relations. We prove an analogue of the Poincare-Birkoff-Witt Theorem, determine their centres and study also extended reflection algebras.

Deformed preprojective algebras and symplectic reflection algebras for wreath products

We determine the PBW deformations of the wreath product of a symmetric group with a deformed preprojective algebra of an affine Dynkin quiver. In particular, we show that there is precisely one parameter which does not come from deformation of the preprojective algebra. We prove that the PBW deformation is Morita equivalent to a corresponding symplectic reflection algebra for wreath product.

Matrix product solution to the reflection equation associated with a coideal subalgebra of $U_q(A^{(1)}_{n-1})$

We present a new solution to the reflection equation associated with a coideal subalgebra of $U_q(A^{(1)}_{n-1})$ in the symmetric tensor representations and their dual. Elements of the $K$ matrix are expressed by a matrix product formula involving terminating $q$-hypergeometric series in $q$-boson generators. At $q=0$, our result reproduces a known set-theoretical solution to the reflection equation connected to the crystal base theory.
