Reflection in a Translation Invariant Surface

We prove that the focal set generated by the reflection of a point source off a translation invariant surface consists of two sets: a curve and a surface. The focal curve lies in the plane orthogonal to the symmetry direction containing the source, while the focal surface is translation invariant. This is done by constructing explicitly the focal set of the reflected line congruence (2-parameter family of oriented lines in ${\Bbb{R}}^3$) with the aid of the natural complex structure on the space of all oriented affine lines.

Parallel translations for a left invariant spray

In this paper, we study the left invariant spray geometry on a connected Lie group. Using the technique of invariant frames, we find the ordinary differential equations on the Lie algebra describing for a left invariant spray structure the linearly parallel translations along a geodesic and the nonlinearly parallel translations along a smooth curve. Harmonic analysis of translation invariant valuations

The decomposition of the space of continuous and translation invariant valuations into a sum of SO(n) irreducible subspaces is obtained. A reformulation of this result in terms of a Hadwiger type theorem for continuous translation invariant and SO(n)-equivariant tensor valuations is also given. As an application, symmetry properties of rigid motion invariant and homogeneous bivaluations are established and then used to prove new inequalities of Brunn-Minkowski type for convex body valued valuations.

Clifford-Wolf translations of left invariant Randers metrics on compact Lie groups

A Clifford-Wolf translation of a connected Finsler space is an isometry which moves each point the sam distance. A Finsler space $(M, F)$ is called Clifford-Wolf homogeneous if for any two point $x_1, x_2\in M$ there is a Clifford-Wolf translation $ρ$ such that $ρ(x_1)=x_2$. Generalized translation invariant valuations and the polytope algebra

We study the space of generalized translation invariant valuations on a finite-dimensional vector space and construct a partial convolution which extends the convolution of smooth translation invariant valuations. Our main theorem is that McMullen's polytope algebra is a subalgebra of the (partial) convolution algebra of generalized translation invariant valuations. Computing arithmetic invariants for hyperbolic reflection groups

We describe a collection of computer scripts written in PARI/GP to compute, for reflection groups determined by finite-volume polyhedra in $\mathbb{H}^3$, the commensurability invariants known as the invariant trace field and invariant quaternion algebra. Our scripts also allow one to determine arithmeticity of such groups and the isomorphism class of the invariant quaternion algebra by analyzing its ramification. Static Einstein-Maxwell space-time invariant by translation

In this paper we study the static Einstein-Maxwell space when it is conformal to an $n$-dimensional pseudo-Euclidean space, which is invariant under the action of an $(n-1)$-dimensional translation group. We also provide a complete classification of such space.
