We prove that the generic quantized coordinate ring $\mathcal{O}_q(G)$ is Auslander-regular, Cohen-Macaulay, and catenary for every connected semisimple Lie group $G$. This answers questions raised by Brown, Lenagan, and the first author. We also prove that under certain hypotheses concerning the existence of normal elements, a noetherian Hopf algebra is Auslander-Gorenstein and Cohen-Macaulay. This provides a new set of positive cases for a question of Brown and the first author.
In establishing a more general version of the McKay correspondence, we prove Auslander's theorem for actions of semisimple Hopf algebras H on noncommutative Artin-Schelter regular algebras A of global dimension two, where A is a graded H-module algebra, and the Hopf action on A is inner faithful with trivial homological determinant. We also show that each fixed ring A^H under such an action arises an analogue of a coordinate ring of a Kleinian singularity.
We describe points on Nakajima varieties and Weyl group actions on them via complexes of semisimple and projective modules over certain finite-dimensional algebras.
We consider the BGG category $\mathcal{O}$ of a quantized universal enveloping algebra $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$. We call a module $M\in \mathcal{O}$ tensor-closed if $M\otimes N\in\mathcal{O}$ for any $N\in \mathcal{O}$. In this paper we prove that $M\in \mathcal{O}$ is tensor-closed if and only if $M$ is finite dimensional. The method used in this paper applies to the unquantized case as well.
We show that complex semisimple quantum groups, that is, Drinfeld doubles of $ q $-deformations of compact semisimple Lie groups, satisfy a categorical version of the Baum-Connes conjecture with trivial coefficients. This approach, based on homological algebra in triangulated categories, is compatible with the previously studied deformation picture of the assembly map, and allows us to define an assembly map with arbitrary coefficients for these quantum groups.
The ADO invariants are a sequence of non-semisimple quantum invariants coming from the representation theory of the quantum group $U_q(sl(2))$ at roots of unity. Ito showed that these invariants are sums of traces of quotients of homological representations of braid groups (truncated Lawrence representations). In this paper we show a direct homological formula for the ADO invariants, as sums of partial traces of Lawrence type representations, without further truncations.
These notes contain an introduction to the theory of complex semisimple quantum groups. Our main aim is to discuss the classification of irreducible Harish-Chandra modules for these quantum groups, following Joseph and Letzter. Along the way we cover extensive background material on quantized universal enveloping algebras and explain connections to the analytical theory in the setting of locally compact quantum groups.
One way to obtain Quantized Universal Enveloping Algebras (QUEAs) of non-semisimple Lie algebras is by contracting QUEAs of semisimple Lie algebras. We prove that every contracted QUEA in a certain class is a cochain twist of the corresponding undeformed universal envelope. Consequently, these contracted QUEAs possess a triangular quasi-Hopf algebra structure. As examples, we consider kappa-Poincare in 3 and 4 spacetime dimensions.
We give an algebraic construction of standard modules (infinite dimensional modules categorifying the PBW basis of the underlying quantized enveloping algebra) for Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier algebras in all finite types. This allows us to prove in an elementary way that these algebras satisfy the homological properties of an `affine quasi-hereditary algebra.' In simply-laced types these properties were established originally by Kato via a geometric approach. We also construct some Koszul-like projective resolutions of standard modules corresponding to multiplicity-free positive roots.
We study a monoid associated to complex semisimple Lie algebras, called the quantic monoid. Its monoid ring is shown to be isomorphic to a degenerate quantized enveloping algebra. Moreover, we provide normal forms and a straightening algorithm for this monoid. All these results are proved by a realization in terms of representations of quivers, namely as the monoid of generic extensions of a quiver with automorphism.
We provide a homological model for a family of quantum representations of mapping class groups arising from non-semisimple TQFTs (Topological Quantum Field Theories). Our approach gives a new geometric point of view on these representations, and it gathers into one theory two of the most promising constructions for investigating linearity of mapping class groups. More precisely, if $\varSigma_{g,1}$ is a surface of genus $g$ with $1$ boundary component, we consider a (crossed) action of its mapping class group $\mathrm{Mod}(\varSigma_{g,1})$ on the homology of its configuration space $\mathrm{…
We introduce supergroup analogues of 3-manifold invariants $\hat{Z}$, also known as homological blocks, which were previously considered for ordinary compact semisimple Lie groups. We focus on superunitary groups, and work out the case of SU(2|1) in details. Physically these invariants are realized as the index of BPS states of a system of intersecting fivebranes wrapping a 3-manifold in M-theory. As in the original case, the homological blocks are q-series with integer coefficients. We provide an explicit algorithm to calculate these q-series for a class of plumbed 3-manifolds and study quant…
For a quantized enveloping algebra of a complex semisimple Lie algebra with deformation parameter not a root of unity, we classify all homogeneous right coideal subalgebras. Any such right coideal subalgebra is determined uniquely by a triple consisting of two elements of the Weyl group and a subset of the set of simple roots satisfying some natural conditions. The essential ingredients of the proof are the Lusztig automorphisms and the classification of homogeneous right coideal subalgebras of the Borel Hopf subalgebras of quantized enveloping algebras obtained previously by H.-J. Schneider a…
We quantize the coordinate ring of the moduli space of B-bundles on the elliptic curve. Here B is a Borel subgroup of some semisimple Lie group. We construct some representations of these algebras and study intertwining operators for these representations. We apply our constructions to produce some objects: the elliptic Belavin R-matrix, the quantization of the algebra of functions on the Grassmannian, some generalized elliptic R-matrix. We consider also the affine case and write down the explicit formula for commuting elements.
We study one and two parameter quantizations of the function algebra on a semisimple orbit in the coadjoint representation of a simple Lie group subject to the condition that the multiplication on the quantized algebra is invariant under action of the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum group. We prove that the corresponding Poisson bracket must be the sum of the so-called R-matrix bracket and an invariant bracket. We classify such brackets for all semisimple orbits and show that they form a family of dimension equal to the rank equal to the second cohomology group of the orbit and then we quantize these b…
We introduce a rigid analytification of the quantized coordinate algebra of a semisimple algebraic group and a quantized Arens-Michael envelope of the enveloping algebra of the corresponding Lie algebra, working over a non-archimedean field and when $q$ is not a root of unity. We show that these analytic quantum groups are topological Hopf algebras and Fréchet-Stein algebras. We then introduce an analogue of the BGG category $\mathcal{O}$ for the quantum Arens-Michael envelope and show that it is equivalent to the category $\mathcal{O}$ for the corresponding quantized enveloping algebra.
We introduce a notion of I-factorial quantum torsor, which consists of an integrable ergodic action of a locally compact quantum group on a type I-factor such that also the crossed product is a type I-factor. We show that any such I-factorial quantum torsor is at the same time a I-factorial quantum torsor for the dual locally compact quantum group, in such a way that the construction is involutive. As a motivating example, we show that quantized compact semisimple Lie groups, when amplified via a crossed product construction with the function algebra on the associated weight lattice, admit I-f…
Let $\mathcal{O}_q(G)$ be the quantized algebra of regular functions on a semisimple simply connected compact Lie group $G$. Simple unitarizable left $\mathcal{O}_q(G)$-module are classified. In this article, we compute their Gelfand-Kirillov dimension where $G$ is of the type $A$, $C$ and $D$.
We show that certain homological regularity properties of graded connected algebras, such as being AS-Gorenstein or AS-Cohen-Macaulay, can be tested by passing to associated graded rings. In the spirit of noncommutative algebraic geometry, this can be seen as an analogue of the classical result that, in a flat family of varieties over the affine line, regularity properties of the exceptional fiber extend to all fibers. We then show that quantized coordinate rings of flag varieties and Schubert varieties can be filtered so that the associated graded rings are twisted semigroup rings. This is a …
Some duality properties for induced representations of enveloping algebras involve the character $Trad_{\goth g}$. We extend them to deformation Hopf algebras $A_{h}$ of a noetherian Hopf $k$-algebra $A_{0}$ satistying $Ext^{i}_{A_{0}}(k, A_{0})=\{0\}$ except for $i=d$ where it is isomorphic to $k$. These duality properties involve the character of $A_{h}$ defined by right multiplication on the one dimensional free $k[[h]]$-module $Ext^{d}_{A_{h}} (k[[h]], A_{h})$. In the case of quantized enveloping algebras, this character lifts the character $Trad_{\goth g}$. We also prove Poincar{é} dualit…
