We classify all SL(2,R)-covariant Poisson structures on the Lobachevsky plane with respect to all multiplicative Poisson structures on SL(2,R) and describe Quantisations for all these Poisson structures.
The action of the isometry algebra U_h(sl(2)) on the h-deformed Lobachevsky plane is found. The invariant distance and the invariant 2-point functions are shown to agree precisely with the classical ones. The propagator of the Laplacian is calculated explicitely. It is invariant only after adding a `non-classical' sector to the Hilbert space.
The well-behaved representations of the coordinate algebra of a 2-dimensional quantum complex plane are classified and a C*-algebra is defined which can be viewed as the algebra of continuous functions on the 2-dimensional quantum complex plane vanishing at infinity.
The goal of this paper is to introduce some rings that play the role of the jet spaces of the quantum plane and unlike the quantum plane itself possess interesting nontrivial prime ideals. We will prove some results (theorems 1-4) about the prime spectrum of these rings.
We describe a nonstandard version of the quantum plane, the one in the basis of divided powers at an even root of unity $q=e^{iπ/p}$. It can be regarded as an extension of the "nearly commutative" algebra $C[X,Y]$ with $X Y =(-1)^p Y X$ by nilpotents. For this quantum plane, we construct a Wess--Zumino-type de Rham complex and find its decomposition into representations of the $2p^3$-dimensional quantum group $U_q sl(2)$ and its Lusztig extension; the quantum group action is also defined on the algebra of quantum differential operators on the quantum plane.
(2+2)-dimensional quantum mechanical q-phase space which is the semi-direct product of the quantum plane E_q(2)/U(1) and its dual algebra e_q(2)/u(1) is constructed. Commutation and the resulting uncertainty relations are studied. ``Quantum mechanical q-Hamiltonian'' of the motion over the quantum plane is derived and the solution of the Schroedinger equation for the q-semiclassical motion governed by the expectation value of that Hamiltonian is solved.
A list of generic $U_q(sl_2)$-module algebra structures on the Laurent polynomial algebra over the quantum plane with uncountably many isomorphism classes is produced. Also, a complete list of such structures is presented in which the action of Cartan generator of $U_q(sl_2)$ does not reduce to multiplying x and y (the generators of quantum plane) by constants.
The aim of this paper is to contribute more examples and classification results of finite pointed quasi-quantum groups within the quiver framework initiated in \cite{qha1, qha2}. The focus is put on finite dimensional graded Majid algebras generated by group-like elements and two skew-primitive elements which are mutually skew-commutative. Such quasi-quantum groups are associated to quasi-quantum planes in the sense of nonassociative geomertry \cite{m1, m2}. As an application, we obtain an explicit classification of graded pointed Majid algebras with abelian coradical of dimension $p^3$ and $p…
We define holomorphic structures on canonical line bundles on the quantum projective plane. The space of holomorphic sections of these line bundles will determine the quantum homogeneous coordinate ring of $\qp^2_q$. We also show that the holomorphic structure of $\qp^2_q$ is naturally represented by a twisted positive Hochschild 4-cocycle.
Quantum planes and a new quantum cylinder are obtained as quantization of Poisson homogeneous spaces of two different Poisson structures on classical Euclidean group E(2).
In this paper which is the completion of [1], we construct the $A_0(q)$-algebra of $Q$-meromorphic functions on the quantum plane. This is the largest non-commutative, associative, $A_0(q)$-algebra of functions constructed on the quantum plane. We also define the notion of quantum subsets of R$^2$ which is a generalization of the notion of quantum disc and charactrize some of their properties. In the end we study the $Q$-homomorphisms of the quantum plane.
Usually the generators of a quantum group are assumed to be commutative with the noncommuting coordinates of a quantum plane. We have relaxed the assumption and investigated its consequences. Not only does a two-parameter quantum group arise naturally, but also the formulation leads us to many probable quantum planes associated with a quantum group. Several examples are presented.
In this work, the Z$_3$-graded differential geometry of the quantum plane is constructed. The corresponding quantum Lie algebra and its Hopf algebra structure are obtained. The dual algebra, i.e. universal enveloping algebra of the quantum plane is explicitly constructed and an isomorphism between the quantum Lie algebra and the dual algebra is given.
The non-commutative differential calculus on quantum groups can be extended by introducing, in analogy with the classical case, inner product operators and Lie derivatives. For the case of $\GL$ we show how this extended calculus induces by coaction a similar extended calculus, covariant under $\GL$, on the quantum plane. In this way, inner product operators and Lie derivatives can be introduced on the plane as well. The situation with other quantum groups and quantum spaces is briefly discussed. Explicit formulas are given for the two dimensional quantum plane.
A new quantum deformation, which we call null-plane, of the (3+1) Poincaré algebra is obtained. The algebraic properties of the classical null-plane description are generalized to this quantum deformation. In particular, the classical isotopy subalgebra of the null-plane is deformed into a Hopf subalgebra, and deformed spin operators having classical commutation rules can be defined. Quantum Hamiltonian, mass and position operators are studied, and the null-plane evolution is expressed in terms of a deformed Schrödinger equation.
Suppose q is a complex number of modulus one and different from 1,-1. Let O(R^2_q) be the *-algebra with two hermitean generators x and y satisfying the relation xy=qyx. Using operator representations of the *-algebra O(R^2_q) on Hilbert space and the Weyl calculus of pseudodifferential operators we construct *-algebras of ``functions'' on the quantum quarter plane R^{++}_q and on the real quantum plane R^2_q which are left module *-algebras for the Hopf *-algebra U_q(gl_2(R)). We define a family h_k, k\in Z^2, of covariant positive linear functionals on these *-algebras and study the actions …
We determine the irreducible weight modules with weight multiplicities at most 1 over the derivation algebra of the localization of the quantum plane at q=-1.
We present a differential calculus on the extension of the quantum plane obtained considering that the (bosonic) generator $x$ is invertible and furthermore working polynomials in $\ln x$ instead of polynomials in $x$. We call quantum Lie algebra to this extension and we obtain its Hopf algebra structure and its dual Hopf algebra. Differential geometry of the quantum Lie algebra of the extended quantum plane and its Hopf algebra structure is obtained. Its dual Hopf algebra is also given.
A Cartan Calculus of Lie derivatives, differential forms, and inner derivations, based on an undeformed Cartan identity, is constructed. We attempt a classification of various types of quantum Lie algebras and present a fairly general example for their construction, utilizing pure braid methods, proving orthogonality of the adjoint representation and giving a (Killing) metric and the quadratic casimir. A reformulation of the Cartan calculus as a braided algebra and its extension to quantum planes, directly and induced from the group calculus, are provided.
A general definition has been proposed recently of a linear connection and a metric in noncommutative geometry. It is shown that to within normalization there is a unique linear connection on the quantum plane and there is no metric.
The Hopf algebra isomorphism between kappa-Poincare algebra defined by P.Kosinski and P.Maslanka in the case g^{00}=0 and "null plane" quantum Poincare algebra by A.Ballesteros, F.J.Herranz and M.A.del Olmo is defined.
In this note, the irreducible representations of a lifting of a quantum plane are determined. Both authors thank Hans-Jürgen Schneider for pointing out a mistake in the published version of the paper, that is corrected here.
The non-standard (Jordanian) quantum deformations of $so(2,2)$ and (2+1) Poincaré algebras are constructed by starting from a quantum $sl(2,\R)$ basis such that simple factorized expressions for their corresponding universal $R$-matrices are obtained. As an application, the null-plane quantum (2+1) Poincaré Poisson-Lie group is quantized by following the FRT prescription. Matrix and differential representations of this null-plane deformation are presented, and the influence of the choice of the basis in the resultant $q$-Schrödinger equation governing the deformed null plane evolution is comme…
We build the $q=-1$ defomation of plane on a product of two copies of algebras of functions on the plane. This algebra constains a subalgebra of functions on the plane. We present general scheme (which could be used as well to construct quaternion from pairs of complex numbers) and we use it to derive differential structures, metric and discuss sample field theoretical models.
A non-linear map is applied onto the (non-standard) null-plane deformation of (3+1) Poincaré algebra giving rise to a simpler form of this triangular quantization. A universal $R$-matrix for the null plane quantum algebra is then obtained from a universal $T$-matrix corresponding to a Hopf subalgebra. Finally, the associated Poincaré Poisson--Lie group is quantized by using the FRT approach.
A nonlinear change of basis allows to show that the non-standard quantum deformation of the (3+1) Poincare algebra has a bicrossproduct structure. Quantum universal R-matrix, Pauli-Lubanski and mass operators are presented in the new basis.
By considering `coloured' braid group representation we have obtained a quantum group, which reduces to the standard $GL_q(2)$ and $GL_{p,q}(2)$ cases at some particular limits of the `colour' parameters. In spite of quite complicated nature, all of these new quantum group relations can be expressed neatly in the Heisenberg-Weyl form, for a nontrivial choice of the basis elements. Furthermore, it is possible to associate invariant Manin planes, parametrised by the `colour' variables, with such quantum group structure.
The universal enveloping algebra U(g) of a Lie algebra g acts on its representation ring R through D(R), the ring of differential operators on R. A quantised universal enveloping algebra (or "quantum group") is a deformation of a universal enveloping algebra and acts not through the differential operators of its representation ring but through the quantised differential operators of its representation ring. We present this situation for the quantum group of sl_2.
S. L. Woronowicz's theory of introducing C*-algebras generated by unbounded elements is applied to q-normal operators satisfying the defining relation of the quantum complex plane. The unique non-degenerate C*-algebra of bounded operators generated by a q-normal operator is computed and an abstract description is given by using crossed product algebras. If the spectrum of the modulus of the q-normal operator is the positive half line, this C*-algebra will be considered as the algebra of continuous functions on the quantum complex plane vanishing at infinity, and its unitization will be viewed …
In these notes, we introduce formal hom-associative deformations of the quantum planes and the universal enveloping algebras of the two-dimensional non-abelian Lie algebras. We then show that these deformations induce formal hom-Lie deformations of the corresponding Lie algebras constructed by using the commutator as bracket.
A study of symplectic forms associated with two dimensional quantum planes and the quantum sphere in a three dimensional orthogonal quantum plane is provided. The associated Hamiltonian vector fields and Poissonian algebraic relations are made explicit.
We study the quantum plane associated to the coloured quantum group GL_{q}^{λ,μ}(2) and solve the problem of constructing the corresponding differential geometric structure. This is achieved within the R-matrix framework generalising the Wess-Zumino formalism and leads to the concept of coloured quantum space. Both, the coloured Manin plane as well as the bicovariant differential calculus exhibit the colour exchange symmetry. The coloured h-plane corresponding to the coloured Jordanian quantum group GL_{h}^{λ,μ}(2) is also obtained by contraction of the coloured q-plane.
The $h$-deformed quantum plane is a counterpart of the $q$-deformed one in the set of quantum planes which are covariant under those quantum deformations of GL(2) which admit a central determinant. We have investigated the noncommutative geometry of the $h$-deformed quantum plane. There is a 2-parameter family of torsion-free linear connections, a 1-parameter sub-family of which are compatible with a skew-symmetric non-degenerate bilinear map. The skew-symmetric map resembles a symplectic 2-form and induces a metric. It is also shown that the extended $h$-deformed quantum plane is a noncommuta…
We derive a formula for the trace of the antipode on endomorphism algebras of simple self-dual modules of nilpotent liftings of quantum planes. We show that the trace is equal to the quantum dimension of the module up to a nonzero scalar depending on the simple module.
We construct a quantum frame bundle of the quantum plane $C^2_p$ by requiring that a $GL_{q,p}(2)$-covariant differential calculus on $C^2_p$ be isomorphic as a bimodule to the space of sections of the associated quantum cotangent bundle. We also construct the section space of the associated quantum tangent bundle, and show that it is naturally dual to the differential calculus.
For $q>0$ let $\cA$ denote the unital $\ast$-algebra with generator $x$ and defining relation $xx^\ast=qxx^\ast$. Based on this algebra we study $q$-normal operators, the complex $q$-moment problem, positive elements and sums of squares.
In third paper of the series we construct a large family of representations of the quantum toroidal $\gl_1$ algebra whose bases are parameterized by plane partitions with various boundary conditions and restrictions. We study the corresponding formal characters. As an application we obtain a Gelfand-Zetlin type basis for a class of irreducible lowest weight $\gl_\infty$-modules.
Quantum theories constructed on the noncommutative spacetime called the Groenewold-Moyal(GM) plane exhibit many interesting properties such as causality violation, Lorentz and CPT non-invariance and twisted statistics. Such violations lead to many striking features that may be tested experimentally. Thus these theories predict Pauli-forbidden transitions due to twisted statistics, anisotropies and acausal effects in the cosmic microwave background radiation in correlations of observables and Lorentz and CPT violations in scattering amplitudes. Such features of quantum physics on the GM plane a…
Deformation theory can be used to compute the cohomology of a deformed algebra with coefficients in itself from that of the original. Using the invariance of the Euler-Poincare characteristic under deformation, it is applied here to compute the cohomology of the Weyl algebra, the algebra of the quantum plane, and the q-Weyl algebra. The behavior of the cohomology when q is a root of unity may encode some number theoretic information.
We give a two-parameter quantum deformation of the exterior plane and its differential calculus without the use of any R-matrix and relate it to the differential calculus with the R-matrix. We prove that there are two types of solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation whose symmetry group is $GL_{p,q}(2)$. We also give a two-parameter deformation of the fermionic oscillator algebra.
We study one-instantons, that is anti-selfdual connections with instanton number 1, on the quantum projective plane with orientation which is reversed with respect to the usual one. The orientation is fixed by a suitable choice of a basis element for the rank 1 free bimodule of top forms. The noncommutative family of solutions is foliated, each non-singular leaves being isomorphic to the quantum projective plane itself.
We give an introductory review of quantum physics on the noncommutative spacetime called the Groenewold-Moyal plane. Basic ideas like star products, twisted statistics, second quantized fields and discrete symmetries are discussed. We also outline some of the recent developments in these fields and mention where one can search for experimental signals.
We derive the quantum Teichmüller space, previously constructed by Kashaev and by Fock and Chekhov, from tensor products of a single canonical representation of the modular double of the quantum plane. We show that the quantum dilogarithm function appears naturally in the decomposition of the tensor square, the quantum mutation operator arises from the tensor cube, the pentagon identity from the tensor fourth power of the canonical representation, and an operator of order three from isomorphisms between canonical representation and its left and right duals. We also show that the quantum univer…
The Moyal and Wick-Voros planes A^{M,V}_θ are *-isomorphic. On each of these planes the Poincaré group acts as a Hopf algebra symmetry if its coproducts are deformed by twist factors. We show that the *-isomorphism T: A^M_θ to A^V_θ does not also map the corresponding twists of the Poincaré group algebra. The quantum field theories on these planes with twisted Poincaré-Hopf symmetries are thus inequivalent. We explicitly verify this result by showing that a non-trivial dependence on the non-commutative parameter is present for the Wick-Voros plane in a self-energy diagram whereas it is known t…
We explain how to calculate the correlation function for SYM N=2 SO(3)-gauge QFT with 4 flavors in terms of top Chern classes of the universal bundles over the moduli spaces of rank 2 stable torsion free coherent sheaves with det=-1 on the complex projective plane. We give a direct geometrical description of these moduli spaces, study a 2-dimensional torus action on them, and calculate several initial coefficients of the correlation function via Bott residue formula.
