We consider classical Tsirelson-type norms of $T[A_r,θ]$ and their modified versions on $\ell_p$ spaces. We show that for any $1<p<\infty$ there is a constant $λ_p$ such that considered Tsirelson-type norms do not $λ_p$-distort any of subspaces of $\ell_p$.

Suppose that (F_n)_{n=0}^{\infty} is a sequence of regular families of finite subsets of N such that F_0 contains all singletons, and (θ_n)_{n=1}^{\infty} is a nonincreasing null sequence in (0,1). In this paper, we compute the Bourgain \ell^1 - index of the mixed Tsirelson space T(F_0,(θ_n, F_n)_{n=1}^{\infty}). As a consequence, it is shown that if ηis a countable ordinal not of the form ω^ξfor some limit ordinal ξ, then there is a Banach space whose \ell^1-index is ω^η. We give criteria of total incomparability for certain classes of mixed Tsirelson spaces. We show that spaces of the form $T[(M_k,θ_k)_{k=1}^{\ell}]$ with index $i(M_k)$ finite are either $c_0$ or $\ell_p$ saturated for some $p$ and we characterize when any two spaces of such a form are totally incomparable in terms of the index $i(M_k)$ and the parameter $θ_k$. Any regular mixed Tsirelson space $T(θ_n,S_n)_{\N}$ for which $\frac{θ_n}{θ^n} \to 0$, where $θ=\lim_n θ_n^{1/n}$, is shown to be arbitrarily distortable. Certain asymptotic $\ell_1$ constants for those and other mixed Tsirelson spaces are calculated. Also a combinatorial result on the Schreier families $(S_α)_{α< ω_1}$ is proved and an application is given to show that for every Banach space $X$ with a basis $(e_i)$, the two $Δ$-spectrums $Δ(X)$ and $Δ(X,(e_i))$ coincide.
In this paper, we study minimality properties of partly modified mixed Tsirelson spaces. A Banach space with a normalized basis (e_k) is said to be subsequentially minimal if for every normalized block basis (x_k) of (e_k), there is a further block (y_k) of (x_k) such that (y_k) is equivalent to a subsequence of (e_k). Two examples of asymptotic $\ell_{1}$ Banach spaces are given. The first, $X_{u}$, has an unconditional basis and is arbitrarily distortable. The second, $X$, does not contain any unconditional basic sequence. Both are spaces of the type of Tsirelson. We thus answer a question raised by W.T.Gowers.
We present condition on higher order asymptotic behaviour of basic sequences in a Banach space ensuring the existence of bounded non-compact strictly singular operator on a subspace. The main result of this article is a rigidity result pertaining to the spreading model structure for Banach spaces coarsely embeddable into Tsirelson's original space $T^*$. Every Banach space that is coarsely embeddable into $T^*$ must be reflexive and all its spreading models must be isomorphic to $c_0$. Several important consequences follow from our rigidity result. We obtain a coarse version of an influential theorem of Tsirelson: $T^*$ does not coarsely contain $c_0$ nor $\ell_p$ for $p\in[1,\infty)$. It is proved that if a Banach space $X$ has a basis $(e_n)$ satisfying every spreading model of a normalized block basis of $(e_n)$ is 1-equivalent to the unit vector basis of $\ell_1$ (respectively, $c_0$) then $X$ contains $\ell_1$ (respectively, $c_0$). Furthermore Tsirelson's space $T$ is shown to have the property that every infinite dimensional subspace contains a sequence having spreading model 1-equivalent to the unit vector basis of $\ell_1$. An equivalent norm is constructed on $T$ so that $\|s_1+s_2\|<2$ whenever $(s_n)$ is a spreading model of a normalized basic sequence in $T$.
A new hierarchy of Banach spaces $T_k(d,θ)$, $k$ any positive integer, is constructed using barriers in high dimensional Ellentuck spaces \cite{DobrinenJSL15} following the classical framework under which a Tsirelson type norm is defined from a barrier in the Ellentuck space \cite{Argyros/TodorcevicBK}. This paper has three parts. First, we establish some of the basic model theoretic facts about $M_{\mathcal{T}}$, the Tsirelson space of Figiel and Johnson \cite{FJ}. We study abstract sufficient criteria for open-loop stabilizability of linear control systems in a Banach space with a bounded control operator, which build up and generalize a sufficient condition for null-controllability in Banach spaces given by an uncertainty principle and a dissipation estimate. For stabilizability these estimates are only needed for a single spectral parameter and, in particular, their constants do not depend on the growth rate w.r.t. this parameter. We give a constructive proof of the finite version of Gowers' $FIN_k$ Theorem and analyse the corresponding upper bounds. The $FIN_k$ Theorem is closely related to the oscillation stability of $c_0$. The stabilization of Lipschitz functions on arbitrary finite dimensional Banach spaces was studied well before by V. Milman. We compare the finite $FIN_k$ Theorem with the finite stabilization principle in the case of spaces of the form $\ell_{\infty}^n$, $n\in\mathbb{N}$ and establish a much slower growing upper bound for the finite stabilization principle in this particular case.
