Multiplicity of critical points of master functions and Schubert calculus

In [MV], some correspondences were defined between critical points of master functions associated to sl_{N+1} and subspaces of C[x] with given ramification properties. In this paper we show that these correspondences are in fact scheme theoretic isomorphisms of appropriate schemes. This gives relations between multiplicities of critical point loci of the relevant master functions and multiplicities in Schubert calculus.

Asymptotic solutions to the sl_2 KZ equation and the intersection of Schubert classes

The hypergeometric solutions to the KZ equation contain a certain symmetric ``master function'', [SV]. Asymptotics of the solutions correspond to critical points of the master function and give Bethe vectors of the inhomogeneous Gaudin model, [RV]. The general conjecture is that the number of orbits of critical points equals the dimension of the relevant vector space, and that the Bethe vectors form a basis. Schubert calculus and representations of general linear group

We construct a canonical isomorphism between the Bethe algebra acting on a multiplicity space of a tensor product of evaluation gl_N[t]-modules and the scheme-theoretic intersection of suitable Schubert varieties. Moreover, we prove that the multiplicity space as a module over the Bethe algebra is isomorphic to the coregular representation of the scheme-theoretic intersection. In particular, this result implies the simplicity of the spectrum of the Bethe algebra for real values of evaluation parameters and the transversality of the intersection of the corresponding Schubert varieties.

Bethe algebra of the gl_{N+1} Gaudin model and algebra of functions on the critical set of the master function

Consider a tensor product of finite-dimensional irreducible gl_{N+1}-modules and its decomposition into irreducible modules. The gl_{N+1} Gaudin model assigns to each multiplicity space of that decomposition a commutative (Bethe) algebra of linear operators acting on the multiplicity space. Critical points of master functions and flag varieties

We consider critical points of master functions associated with integral dominant weights of Kac-Moody algebras and introduce a generating procedure constructing new critical points starting from a given one. The set of all critical points constructed from a given one is called a population. We formulate a conjecture that a population is isomorphic to the flag variety of the Langlands dual Kac-Moody algebra and prove the conjecture for algebras $sl_{N+1}, so_{2N+1}$, and $sp_{2N}$. Norm of a Bethe Vector and the Hessian of the Master Function

We show that the Bethe vectors are non-zero vectors in the sl_{r+1} Gaudin model. Moreover, we show that the norm of a Bethe vector is equal to the Hessian of the corresponding master function at the corresponding non-degenerate critical point. This result is a byproduct of functorial properties of Bethe vectors studied in this paper.
