Perverse sheaves on Riemann surfaces as Milnor sheaves

Constructible sheaves of abelian groups on a stratified space can be equivalently described in terms of representations of the exit-path category. In this work, we provide a similar presentation of the abelian category of perverse sheaves on a stratified surface in terms of representations of the so-called paracyclic category of the surface. Perverse homotopy heart and MW-modules

We compute the perverse delta-homotopy heart of the motivic stable homotopy category over a base scheme with a dimension function delta, rationally or after inverting the exponential characteristic in the equicharacteristic case. In order to do that, we define the notion of homological Milnor-Witt cycle modules and construct a homotopy-invariant Rost-Schmid cycle complex. Moreover, we define the category of cohomological Milnor-Witt cycle modules and show a duality result in the smooth case.

Spherical adjunctions of stable $\infty$-categories and the relative S-construction

We develop the theory of semi-orthogonal decompositions and spherical functors in the framework of stable $\infty$-categories. Building on this, we study the relative Waldhausen S-construction $S_\bullet(F)$ of a spherical functor $F$ and equip it with a natural paracyclic structure (``rotational symmetry''). The vanishing cohomology of non-isolated hypersurface singularities

We employ the perverse vanishing cycles to show that each reduced cohomology group of the Milnor fiber, except the top two, can be computed from the restriction of the vanishing cycle complex to only singular strata with a certain lower bound in dimension. Guided by geometric results, we alternately use the nearby and vanishing cycle functors to derive information about the Milnor fiber cohomology via iterated slicing by generic hyperplanes. A remark on vanishing cycles with two strata

Suppose that the critical locus $Σ$ of a complex analytic function $f$ on affine space is, itself, a space with an isolated singular point at the origin $\0$, and that the Milnor number of $f$ restricted to normal slices of $Σ-\{\0\}$ is constant. Then, the general theory of perverse sheaves puts severe restrictions on the cohomology of the Milnor fiber of $f$ at $\0$, and even more surprising restrictions on the cohomology of the Milnor fiber of generic hyperplane slices.

Vanishing cycle sheaves of one-parameter smoothings and quasi-semistable degenerations

We study the vanishing cycles of a one-parameter smoothing of a complex analytic space and show that the weight filtration on its perverse cohomology sheaf of the highest degree is quite close to the monodromy filtration so that its graded pieces have a modified Lefschetz decomposition. We describe its primitive part using the weight filtration on the perverse cohomology sheaves of the constant sheaves.
