Parabolic subalgebras $\frak{p}$ of semisimple Lie algebras define a $\Bbb{Z}$-grading of the Lie algebra. If there exists a nilpotent element in the first graded part of $\frak{g}$ on which the adjoint group of $\frak{p}$ acts with a dense orbit, the parabolic subalgebra is said to be nice. The corresponding nilpotent element is also called admissible. Nice parabolic subalgebras of simple Lie algebras have been classified. In the case of Borel subalgebras a Richardson element of $\frak{g}_1$ is exactly one that involves all simple root spaces. It is however difficult to write down such nilpotent elements for general parabolic subalgebras. In this paper we give an explicit construction of admissible elements in $\frak{g}_1$ that uses as few root spaces as possible.
This paper gives a classification of parabolic subalgebras of simple Lie algebras over $\CC$ that are complexifications of parabolic subalgebras of real forms for which Lynch's vanishing theorem for generalized Whittaker modules is non-vacuous. The paper also describes normal forms for the admissible characters in the sense of Lynch (at least in the quasi-split cases) and analyzes the important special case when the parabolic is defined by an even embedded TDS (three dimensional simple Lie algebra).
We use coefficient systems on the affine Bruhat-Tits building to study admissible representations of reductive p-adic groups in characteristic not equal to p. We show that the character function is locally constant and provide explicit neighbourhoods of constancy. We estimate the growth of the subspaces of invariants for compact open subgroups.
Recently a remarkable map between 4-dimensional superconformal field theories and vertex algebras has been constructed \cite{BLLPRV15}. This has lead to new insights in the theory of characters of vertex algebras. In particular it was observed that in some cases these characters decompose in nice products \cite{XYY16}, \cite{Y16}. The purpose of this note is to explain the latter phenomena. Namely, we point out that it is immediate by our character formula \cite{KW88}, \cite{KW89} that in the case of a \textit{boundary level} the characters of admissible representations of affine Kac-Moody alg…
In this paper, we compute the character formula of the Brylinski model for all classical nilpotent varieties $\overline{\mathcal{O}}$. As a consequence, one can compute the multiplicities of all $K-$types of the ring of regular functions $R(\overline{\mathcal{O}})$ for all classical nilpotent varieties.
In the paper we characterize, in terms of quivers and relations, the admissible algebras with formal two-ray modules introduced by G. Bobiński and A. Skowroński [Cent. Eur. J.Math.1 (2003), 457--476].
In part I we introduced the class ${\mathcal E}_2$ of Lie subgroups of $Sp(2,\R)$ and obtained a classification up to conjugation (Theorem 1.1). Here, we determine for which of these groups the restriction of the metaplectic representation gives rise to a reproducing formula. In all the positive cases we characterize the admissible vectors with a generalized Calderón equation. They include products of 1D-wavelets, directional wavelets, shearlets, and many new examples.
Our aim in this paper is to investigate the first Hochschild cohomology of {\em admissible algebras} which can be seen as a generalization of basic algebras. For this purpose, we study differential operators on an admissible algebra. Firstly, differential operators from a path algebra to its quotient algebra as an admissible algebra are discussed. Based on this discussion, the first cohomology with admissible algebras as coefficient modules is characterized, including their dimension formula. Besides, for planar quivers, the $k$-linear bases of the first cohomology of acyclic complete monomial…
Let $F$ be an algebraically closed field and consider the Lie algebra ${\mathfrak g}=\langle x\rangle\ltimes {\mathfrak a}$, where $\mathrm{ad}\, x$ acts diagonalizably on the abelian Lie algebra ${\mathfrak a}$. Refer to a ${\mathfrak g}$-module as admissible if $[{\mathfrak g},{\mathfrak g}]$ acts via nilpotent operators on it, which is automatic if $\mathrm{char}(F)=0$. In this paper we classify all indecomposable ${\mathfrak g}$-modules $U$ which are admissible as well as uniserial, in the sense that $U$ has a unique composition series.
Let $F$ be a non--Archimedean locally compact field (${\rm car}(F)\geq 0$), ${\bf G}$ be a connected reductive group defined over $F$, $θ$ be an $F$--automorphism of ${\bf G}$, and $ω$ be a character of ${\bf G}(F)$. We fix a Haar measure $dg$ on ${\bf G}(F)$. For a smooth irreducible $(θ,ω)$--stable complex representation $π$ of ${\bf G}(F)$, that is such that $π\circ θ\simeq π\otimes ω$, the choice of an isomorphism $A$ from $π\otimes ω$ to $π\circ θ$ defines a distribution $Θ_π^A$, called the \og ($A$--)twisted character of $π$\fg: for a compactly supported locally constant function $f$ on …
We study the vertex algebras associated with modular invariant representations of affine Kac-Moody algebras at fractional levels, whose simple highest weight modules are classified by Joseph's characteristic varieties. We show that an irreducible highest weight representation of a non-twisted affine Kac-Moody algebra at an admissible level k is a module over the associated simple affine vertex algebra if and only if it is an admissible representation whose integral root system is isomorphic to that of the vertex algebra itself. This in particular proves the conjecture of Adamovic and Milas on …
It is well known that the normaized characters of integrable highest weight modules of given level over an affine Lie algebra $\hat{\frak{g}}$ span an $SL_2(\mathbf{Z})$-invariant space. This result extends to admissible $\hat{\frak{g}}$-modules, where $\frak{g}$ is a simple Lie algebra or $osp_{1|n}$. Applying the quantum Hamiltonian reduction (QHR) to admissible $\hat{\frak{g}}$-modules when $\frak{g} =sl_2$ (resp. $=osp_{1|2}$) one obtains minimal series modules over the Virasoro (resp. $N=1$ superconformal algebras), which form modular invariant families. Another instance of modular invari…
The character of an irreducible admissible representation of a $p$-adic reductive group is known to be a constant function in some neighborhood of any regular semisimple element $γ$ in the group. Under certain mild restrictions on $γ$, we give an explicit description of a neighborhood of $γ$ on which the character is constant.
The center of an extended affine Hecke algebra is known to be isomorphic to the ring of symmetric functions associated to the underlying finite Weyl group $W\_0$. The set of Weyl characters ${\sf s}\_\la$ forms a basis of the center and Lusztig showed in [Lus15] that these characters act as translations on the Kazhdan-Lusztig basis element $C\_{w\_0}$ where $w\_0$ is the longest element of $W\_0$, that is we have $C\_{w\_0}{\sf s}\_\la =C\_{w\_0t\_\la}$. As a consequence, the coefficients that appear when decomposing~$C\_{w\_0t\_{\la}}{\sf s}\_τ$ in the Kazhdan-Lusztig basis are tensor multipl…
The purpose of this paper is to study Hom-Lie superalgebras, that is a superspace with a bracket for which the superJacobi identity is twisted by a homomorphism. This class is a particular case of $Γ$-graded quasi-Lie algebras introduced by Larsson and Silvestrov. In this paper, we characterize Hom-Lie admissible superalgebras and provide a construction theorem from which we derive a one parameter family of Hom-Lie superalgebras deforming the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra. Also, we prove a $\mathbb{Z}_2$-graded version of a Hartwig-Larsson-Silvestrov Theorem which leads us to a construction…
Let $G$ be a complex connected reductive algebraic group and let $G_{\mathbb{R}}$ be a real form of $G$. We construct a sequence of functors $L_i\mathcal{R}$ from admissible (resp. finite-length) representations of $G$ to admissible (resp. finite-length) representations of $G_{\mathbb{R}}$. We establish many basic properties of these functors, including their behavior with respect to infinitesimal character, associated variety, and restriction to a maximal compact subgroup. We deduce that each $L_i\mathcal{R}$ takes unipotent representations of $G$ to unipotent representations of $G_{\mathbb{R…
We give a cohomological treatment of a character theory for (g,K)-modules. This leads to a nice formalism extending to large categories of not necessarily admissible (g,K)-modules. Due to results of Hecht, Schmid and Vogan the classical results of Harish-Chandra's global character theory extend to this general setting. As an application we consider a general setup, for which we show that algebraic characters answer discretely decomposable branching problems.
Following the ideas of Ginzburg, for a subgroup $K$ of a connected reductive $\mathbb{R}$-group $G$ we introduce the notion of $K$-admissible $D$-modules on a homogeneous $G$-variety $Z$. We show that $K$-admissible $D$-modules are regular holonomic when $K$ and $Z$ are absolutely spherical. This framework includes: (i) the relative characters attached to two spherical subgroups $H_1$ and $H_2$, provided that the twisting character $χ_i$ factors through the maximal reductive quotient of $H_i$, for $i = 1, 2$; (ii) localization on $Z$ of Harish-Chandra modules; (iii) the generalized matrix coef…
We evaluate characters of irreducible representations of the N=2 supersymmetric extension of the Virasoro algebra. We do so by deriving the BGG-resolution of the admissible N=2 representations and also a new 3,5,7...-resolution in terms of twisted massive Verma modules. We analyse how the characters behave under the automorphisms of the algebra, whose most significant part is the spectral flow transformations. The possibility to express the characters in terms of theta functions is determined by their behaviour under the spectral flow. We also derive the identity expressing every $\hat{sl}(2)$…
In this paper, we introduce and develop the notion of a Manin triple for a Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak g$ defined over a field of characteristic $p=2$. We find cohomological necessary conditions for the pair $(\mathfrak g, \mathfrak g^*)$ to form a Manin triple. We introduce the concept of Lie bi-superalgebras for $p=2$ and establish a link between Manin triples and Lie bi-superalgebras. In particular, we study Manin triples defined by a classical $r$-matrix with an extra condition (called an admissible classical $r$-matrix). A particular case is examined where $\mathfrak g$ has an even invari…
A Hom-algebra structure is a multiplication on a vector space where the structure is twisted by a homomorphism. The structure of Hom-Lie algebra was introduced by Hartwig, Larsson and Silvestrov and extended by Larsson and Silvestrov to quasi-hom Lie and quasi-Lie algebras. In this paper we introduce and study Hom-associative, Hom-Leibniz, and Hom-Lie admissible algebraic structures which generalize the well known associative, Leibniz and Lie admissible algebras. Also, we characterize the flexible Hom-algebras in this case. We also explain some connections between Hom-Lie algebras and Santilli…
