We study the dynamics of a bimeromorphic selfmap of a compact complex Kähler surface $X$. Under a natural geometric hypothesis, we construct an invariant probability measure, which is mixing, hyperbolic and of maximal entropy. The proof relies heavily on the theory of laminar currents and is new even in the case of polynomial automorphisms of $\mathbb{C}^2$. This extends recent results by E. Bedford and J. Diller.

Structure properties of laminar currents on $\mathbb{P}^2$

We study the structure of a class of laminar closed positive currents on $\mathbb{CP}^2$, naturally appearing in birational dynamics. We prove such a current admits natural non intersecting {\em leaves}, that are closed under analytic continuation. As a consequence it can be seen as a {\em foliation cycle} a weak lamination.

Sequences of multivalued meromorphic maps and laminar currents

Let (F_n) be a sequence of (multivalued) meromorphic maps between compact Kaehler manifolds X1 and X2. We study the asymptotic distribution of preimages of points by F_n and the asymptotic distribution of fixed points for multivalued self-maps of a compact Riemann surface. Dicritical singularities and laminar currents on Levi-flat hypersurfaces

We establish an effective criterion for a dicritical singularity of a real analytic Levi-flat hypersurface. The criterion is stated in terms of the Segre varieties. As an application, we obtain a structure theorem for some class of currents in the nondicritical case.

Dynamics of regular birational maps in P^k

We develop the study of some spaces of currents of bidegree (p,p). As an application we construct the equilibrium measure for a large class of birational maps of P^k as intersection of Green currents. We show that these currents are extremal and that the corresponding measure is mixing.

Energy and Invariant Measures for Birational Surface Maps

When a birational surface map is expanding on cohomology there is a canonical way to associate positive closed currents to the map and its inverse. In this paper we use a version of Dirichlet energy to construct the wedge product of these two currents under a very weak additional condition on the map. We show that the resulting measure is invariant and mixing, and we establish that its Lyapunov exponents are finite and non-zero.

A non-laminar dynamical Green current

A holomorphic endomorphism f of CP^2 admits a Julia set J_1, defined as usual to be the locus of non-normality of its iterates, and a (typically) smaller Julia set J_2, which is essentially the closure of the set of repelling periodic orbits. We try to find a geometric interpretation of the wedge product of positive closed laminar currents in $\mathbb{C}^2$. We say such a wedge product is geometric if it is given by intersecting the disks filling up the currents. Uniformly laminar currents do always intersect geometrically in this sense. We also introduce a class of ``strongly approximable'' laminar currents, natural from the dynamical point of view, and prove that such currents intersect geometrically provided they have continuous potentials.

Entropy of meromorphic maps and dynamics of birational maps

We study the dynamics of meromorphic maps for a compact Kaehler manifold X. More precisely, we give a simple criterion that allows us to produce a measure of maximal entropy. We can apply this result to bound the Lyapunov exponents. Then, we study the particular case of a family of generic birational maps of P^k for which we construct the Green currents and the equilibrium measure. We use for that the theory of super-potentials. Polynomial diffeomorphisms of C^2, IV: The measure of maximal entropy and laminar currents

This paper concerns the dynamics of polynomial automorphisms of ${\bf C}^2$. One can associate to such an automorphism two currents $μ^\pm$ and the equilibrium measure $μ=μ^+\wedgeμ^-$. In this paper we study some geometric and dynamical properties of these objects. First, we characterize $μ$ as the unique measure of maximal entropy. Dynamics of automorphisms on compact Kähler manifolds

We study holomorphic automorphisms on compact Kähler manifolds having simple actions on the Hodge cohomology ring. We show for such automorphisms that the main dynamical Green currents admit complex laminar structures (woven currents) and the Green measure is the unique invariant probability measure of maximal entropy.
