We study a scheme M closely related to the set of pairs of n by n-matrices with rank 1 commutator. We show that M is a reduced complete intersection with n+1 irreducible components, which we describe. There is a distinguished Lagrangian subvariety Nil in M. We introduce a category, C, of D-modules whose characteristic variety is contained in Nil. Simple objects of that category are analogous to Lusztig's character sheaves. We construct a functor of Quantum Hamiltonian reduction from category C to the category O for type A rational Cherednik algebra.

On category O for the rational Cherednik algebra of G(m,1,n): the almost semisimple case

We determine the structure of category $\cO$ for the rational Cherednik algebra of $G(m,1,n)$ in the case where the $\KZ$ functor satisfies a condition called \emph{separating simples}. As a consequence, we show that the property of having exactly $N-1$ simple modules, where $N$ is the number of simple modules of $G(m,1,n)$, determines the Ariki-Koike algebra up to isomorphism.

On the variety of almost commuting nilpotent matrices

We study the variety of n by n matrices with commutator of rank at most one. We describe its irreducible components; two of them correspond to the pairs of commuting matrices, and n-2 components of smaller dimension corresponding to the pairs of rank one commutator. In our proof we define a map to the zero fiber of the Hilbert scheme of points and study the image and the fibers.

The regularity of almost-commuting partial Grothendieck--Springer resolutions and parabolic analogs of Calogero--Moser varieties

Consider the moment map $μ\colon T^*(\mathfrak{p} \times \mathbb{C}^n) \to \mathfrak{p}^*$ for a parabolic subalgebra $\mathfrak{p}$ of $\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{C})$. Representation spaces for central extensions and almost commuting unitary matrices

Equivariant $K$-theory of the semi-infinite flag manifold as a nil-DAHA module

The equivariant $K$-theory of the semi-infinite flag manifold, as developed recently by Kato, Naito, and Sagaki, carries commuting actions of the nil-double affine Hecke algebra (nil-DAHA) and a $q$-Heisenberg algebra. The action of the latter generates a free submodule of rank $|W|$, where $W$ is the (finite) Weyl group. We show that this submodule is stable under the nil-DAHA, which enables one to express the nil-DAHA action in terms of $W\times W$ matrices over the $q$-Heisenberg algebra. Nilpotent pairs in semisimple Lie algebras and their characteristics

Recently, V.Ginzburg introduced and studied in depth the notion of a principal nilpotent pair in a semisimple Lie algebra \g. Our aim is to contribute to the general theory of nilpotent pairs. Roughly speaking, a nilpotent pair (e_1,e_2) consists of two commuting elements in \g that can independently be contracted to the origin.
