Applying a well known result for attracting fixed points of biholomorphisms \cite{RR, V}, we observe that one immediately obtains the following result: if $(M^n,g)$ is a complete non-compact gradient Kähler-Ricci soliton which is either steady with positive Ricci curvature so that the scalar curvature attains its maximum at some point, or expanding with non-negative Ricci curvature, then $M$ is biholomorphic to $\ce ^n$.
Let $M^n$ be a compact K$\ddot{a}$hler manifold with almost nonnegative Ricci curvature and nonzero first Betti number. We show that the holomorphic Euler number of $M^n$ vanishes, which gives a new obstruction for compact complex manifolds admitting K$\ddot{a}$hler metrics with almost nonnegative Ricci curvature. A crucial step in the proof is to show a vanishing theorem of Dolbeault-Morse-Novikov cohomology.
In this article we study the limiting behavior of the Kähler Ricci flow on complete non-compact Kähler manifolds. We provide sufficient conditions under which a complete non-compact gradient Kähler-Ricci soliton is biholomorphic to $\ce^n$. We also discuss the uniformization conjecture by Yau \cite{Y} for complete non-compact Kähler manifolds with positive holomorphic bisectional curvature.
By establishing two general quadratic inequalities, we obtain some inequalities related to Ricci curvatures for Lagrangian submanifolds of K$\ddot{\mathrm{a}}$hler QCH-manifolds, which generalize some results for Lagrangian submanifolds of complex space forms.
Yau's uniformization conjecture states: a complete noncompact Kähler manifold with positive holomorphic bisectional curvature is biholomorphic to $\ce^n$. The Kähler-Ricci flow has provided a powerful tool in understanding the conjecture, and has been used to verify the conjecture in several important cases. In this article we present a survey of the Kähler-Ricci flow with focus on its application to uniformization. Other interesting methods and results related to the study of Yau's conjecture are also discussed.
We develop a parabolic pluripotential theory on compact K{ä}hler manifolds, defining and studying weak solutions to degenerate parabolic complex Monge-Amp{è}re equations. We provide a parabolic analogue of the celebrated Bedford-Taylor theory and apply it to the study of the K{ä}hler-Ricci flow on varieties with log terminal singularities.
Let $(M^3,g_0)$ be a complete noncompact Riemannian 3-manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature and with injectivity radius bounded away from zero. Suppose that the scalar curvature $R(x)\to 0$ as $x\to \infty$. Then the Ricci flow with initial data $(M^3,g_0)$ has a long time solution. This extends a recent result of Ma and Zhu. We also have a higher dimensional version, and we reprove a K$\ddot{a}$hler analogy due to Chau, Tam and Yu.
For any complete noncompact K$\ddot{a}$hler manifold with nonnegative and bounded holomorphic bisectional curvature,we provide the necessary and sufficient condition for non-ancient solution to the Ricci flow in this paper.
The famous Uniformization Theorem states that on closed Riemannian surfaces there always exists a metric of constant curvature for the Levi-Cevita connection. In this article we prove that an analogue of the uniformization theorem also holds for connections with metric torsion in the case of non-positive Euler characteristic. Our main tool is an adapted form of the Ricci flow.
In this paper, by combining techniques from Ricci flow and algebraic geometry, we prove the following generalization of the classical uniformization theorem of Riemann surfaces. Given a complete noncompact complex two dimensional Kähler manifold $M$ of positive and bounded holomorphic bisectional curvature, suppose its geodesic balls have Euclidean volume growth and its scalar curvature decays to zero at infinity in the average sense, then $M$ is biholomorphic to $\C^2$. During the proof, we also discover an interesting gap phenomenon which says that a Kähler manifold as above automatically ha…
By extending Koiso's examples to the non-compact case, we construct complete gradient Kahler-Ricci solitons of various types on certain holomorphic line bundles over compact Kahler-Einstein manifolds. Moreover, a uniformization result on steady gradient Kahler-Ricci solitons with non-negative Ricci curvature is obtained under additional assumptions.
We prove that a compact stratied space satises the Riemannian curvature-dimension condition RCD(K, N) if and only if its Ricci tensor is bounded below by K $\in$ R on the regular set, the cone angle along the stratum of codimension two is smaller than or equal to 2$π$ and its dimension is at most equal to N. This gives a new wide class of geometric examples of metric measure spaces satisfying the RCD(K, N) curvature-dimension condition, including for instance spherical suspensions, orbifolds, K{ä}hler-Einstein manifolds with a divisor, Einstein manifolds with conical singularities along a curv…
The Ricci iteration is a discrete analogue of the Ricci flow. According to Perelman, the Ricci flow converges to a Kahler-Einstein metric whenever one exists, and it has been conjectured that the Ricci iteration should behave similarly. This article confirms this conjecture. As a special case, this gives a new method of uniformization of the Riemann sphere.
In this work, using the method by He, we prove a short time existence for Ricci flow on a complete noncompact Riemannian manifold with the following properties: (i) there is $r_0>0$ such that the volume of any geodesic balls of radius $r\le r_0$ is close to the volume of the geodesic ball in the Euclidean space with the same radius; (ii) the Ricci curvature is bounded below; (iii) the sectional curvature is bounded below by $-Cd^2(x,x_0)$ where $d(x,x_0)$ is the distance from a fixed point. An application to the uniformization for complete noncompact Kahler manifolds with nonnegative bisection…
We study complete noncompact long time solutions $(M, g(t))$ to the Kähler-Ricci flow with uniformly bounded nonnegative holomorphic bisectional curvature. We will show that when the Ricci curvature is positive and uniformly pinched, i.e. $ R_\ijb \ge cRg_\ijb$ at $(p,t)$ for all $t$ for some $c>0$, then there always exists a local gradient Kähler Ricci soliton limit around $p$ after possibly rescaling $g(t)$ along some sequence $t_i \to \infty$. We will show as an immediate corollary that the injectivity radius of $g(t)$ along $t_i$ is uniformly bounded from below along $t_i$, and thus $M$ mu…
