Ascending Chain Conditions in Free Baxter Algebras

In this paper we study ascending chain conditions in a free Baxter algebra by making use of explicit constructions of free Baxter algebras that were obtained recently. We investigate ascending chain conditions both for ideals and for Baxter ideals. The free Baxter algebras under consideration include free Baxter algebras on sets and free Baxter algebras on algebras. We also consider complete free Baxter algebras.

On the ascending chain condition for mixed difference ideals

We show that the ring of difference polynomials over a difference field does not satisfy the ascending chain condition for mixed difference ideals. This result solves an open problem of difference algebra stated by E. Hrushovski in connection with the development of difference algebraic geometry.

Ascending chain condition for $F$-pure thresholds on a fixed strongly $F$-regular germ

In this paper, we prove that the set of all $F$-pure thresholds on a fixed germ of a strongly $F$-regular pair satisfies the ascending chain condition. As a corollary, we verify the ascending chain condition for the set of all $F$-pure thresholds on smooth varieties or, more generally, on varieties with tame quotient singularities, which is an affirmative answer to a conjecture given by Blickle, Mustaţǎ and Smith.

On ascending chains of ideals in the polynomial ring

Assume that $K$ is a field and $I_{1}\subsetneq ...\subsetneq I_{t}$ is an ascending chain (of length $t$) of ideals in the polynomial ring $K[x_{1},,...,x_{m}]$, for some $m\geq 1$. Suppose that $I_{j}$ is generated by polynomials of degrees less or equal to some natural number $f(j)\geq 1$, for any $j=1,...,t$. In the paper we construct, in an elementary way, a natural number $\mathcal{B}(m,f)$ (depending on $m$ and the function $f$) such that $t\leq\mathcal{B}(m,f)$. We also discuss some possible applications of this result.

On the unions of ascending chains of direct sums of ideals of h-local Prüfer domains

In this work, we investigate conditions under which unions of ascending chains of modules which are isomorphic to direct sums of ideals of an integral domain are again isomorphic to direct sums of ideals. We obtain generalizations of the Pontryagin-Hill theorems for modules which are direct sums of ideals of h-local Prüfer domains. Atomic semigroup rings and the ascending chain condition on principal ideals

An integral domain is called atomic if every nonzero nonunit element factors into irreducibles. On the other hand, an integral domain is said to satisfy the ascending chain condition on principal ideals (ACCP) if every ascending chain of principal ideals terminates. Ascending chains of finitely generated subgroups

We show that a nonempty family of $n$-generated subgroups of a pro-$p$ group has a maximal element. This suggests that 'Noetherian Induction' can be used to discover new features of finitely generated subgroups of pro-$p$ groups. On some criteria for the balanced projectivity of modules over integral domains

Motivated by Hill's criterion of freeness for abelian groups, we investigate conditions under which unions of ascending chains of balanced-projective modules over integral domains are again balanced-projective. Our main result establishes that, in order for a torsion-free module to be balanced-projective, it is sufficient that it be the union of a countable, ascending chain of balanced-projective, pure submodules. Prime ideals and Noetherian properties in vector lattices

In this paper we study the set of prime ideals in vector lattices and how the properties of the prime ideals structure the vector lattice in question.
