Duality of $W^*$-correspondences and applications

This is an exposition of our work on the canonical models of representations of Hardy algebras associated with $W^*$-correspondences. It generalizes the model theory of Sz.-Nagy and Foias and the work of Popescu on models of row contractions. We also emphasize the concept of duality for $W^*$-correspondences and its relation to Morita equivalence of correspondenses.

Hardy algebras associated with $W^*$-correspondences (point evaluation and Schur class functions)

This is primarily an exposition of our work on Hardy algebras associated with $W^*$-correspondences with an emphasis on interpolation results (a generalized Nevanlinna-Pick theorem) and the concepts of Schur class operator functions (and realizations). We describe in detail the construction of the Hardy algebras, its representations and the important concepts of duality and point evaluation. Many examples are provided.

Product systems of C*-correspondences and Takai duality

We establish the Hao-Ng isomorphism for generalized gauge actions of locally compact abelian groups on product systems over abelian lattice orders and we then use it to explore Takai duality in this context. As an application we generalize related work of Schafhauser.

Duality for compact group actions on operator algebras and applications: irreducible inclusions and Galois correspondence

We consider compact group actions on C*- and W*- algebras. We prove results that relate the duality property of the action (as defined in the Introduction) with other relevant properties of the system such as the relative commutant of the fixed point algebras being trivial (called the irreducibility of the inclusion) and also to the Galois correspondence between invariant C*-subalgebras containing the fixed point algebra and the class of closed normal subgroups of the compact group.

Commutants of von Neumann Correspondences and Duality of Eilenberg-Watts Theorems by Rieffel and by Blecher

The category of von Neumann correspondences from B to C (or von Neumann B-C-modules) is dual to the category of von Neumann correspondences from C' to B' via a functor that generalizes naturally the functor that sends a von Neumann algebra to its commutant and back. We show that under this duality, called commutant, Rieffel's Eilenberg-Watts theorem (on functors between the categories of representations of two von Neumann algebras) switches into Blecher's Eilenberg-Watts theorem (on functors between the categories of von Neumann modules over two von Neumann algebras) and back.

Extended Affine Weyl groups, the Baum-Connes correspondence and Langlands duality

In this paper we consider the Baum-Connes correspondence for the affine and extended affine Weyl groups of a compact connected semisimple Lie group. We show that the Baum-Connes correspondence in this context arises from Langlands duality for the Lie group.

T-duality trivializes bulk-boundary correspondence: the parametrised case

We state a general conjecture that T-duality trivialises a model for the bulk-boundary correspondence in the parametrised context. We give evidence that it is valid by proving it in a special interesting case, which is relevant both to String Theory and to the study of topological insulators with defects in Condensed Matter Physics.

Antisymmetric characters and Fourier duality

Inspired by the quantum McKay correspondence, we consider the classical $ADE$ Lie theory as a quantum theory over $\mathfrak{sl}_2$. We introduce anti-symmetric characters for representations of quantum groups and investigate the Fourier duality to study the spectral theory. Graph duality as an instrument of Gauge-String correspondence

We explore an identity between two branching graphs and propose a physical meaning in the context of the gauge-gravity correspondence. From the mathematical point of view, the identity equates probabilities associated with $\mathbb{GT}$, the branching graph of the unitary groups, with probabilities associated with $\mathbb{Y}$, the branching graph of the symmetric groups. A duality between Schroedinger operators on graphs and certain Jacobi matrices

The known correspondence between the Kronig-Penney model and certain Jacobi matrices is extended to a wide class of Schroedinger operators on graphs. Examples include rectangular lattices with and without a magnetic field, or comb-shaped graphs leading to a Maryland-type model.
