The K-theory of the Flag Variety and the Fomin-Kirillov Quadratic Algebra

We propose a new approach to the multiplication of Schubert classes in the K-theory of the flag variety. This extends the work of Fomin and Kirillov in the cohomology case, and is based on the quadratic algebra defined by them. More precisely, we define K-theoretic versions of the Dunkl elements considered by Fomin and Kirillov, show that they commute, and use them to describe the structure constants of the K-theory of the flag variety with respect to its basis of Schubert classes.

A quotient of Fomin-Kirillov Algebra and q-Lucas polynomial

We introduce a quotient of Fomin-Kirillov algebra $FK(n)$ denoted $\overline{FK}_{C_n}(n)$, over the ideal generated by the edges of a complete graph on n vertexes that are missing in the $n$-cycle graph $C_n$. For this quotient algebra $\overline{FK}_{C_n}(n)$, we show that the basis is in one-to-one correspondence with the set of matchings in an $n$-cycle graph. We also prove that the dimension of $\overline{FK}_{C_n}(n)$ equals the Lucas Number $L_n$ and its Hilbert series is $q$-Lucas polynomial. We find the character map of this quotient algebra over Dihedral group $D_n$.

Schur times Schubert via the Fomin-Kirillov algebra

We study multiplication of any Schubert polynomial $\mathfrak{S}_w$ by a Schur polynomial $s_λ$ (the Schubert polynomial of a Grassmannian permutation) and the expansion of this product in the ring of Schubert polynomials. We derive explicit nonnegative combinatorial expressions for the expansion coefficients for certain special partitions $λ$, including hooks and the 2x2 box. We also prove combinatorially the existence of such nonnegative expansion when the Young diagram of $λ$ is a hook plus a box at the (2,2) corner. On the commutative quotient of Fomin-Kirillov algebras

The Fomin-Kirillov algebra $\mathcal E_n$ is a noncommutative algebra with a generator for each edge in the complete graph on $n$ vertices. For any graph $G$ on $n$ vertices, let $\mathcal E_G$ be the subalgebra of $\mathcal E_n$ generated by the edges in $G$. We show that the commutative quotient of $\mathcal E_G$ is isomorphic to the Orlik-Terao algebra of $G$. As a consequence, the Hilbert series of this quotient is given by $(-t)^n χ_G(-t^{-1})$, where $χ_G$ is the chromatic polynomial of $G$. Chern class of Schubert cells in the flag manifold and related algebras

We discuss a relationship between Chern-Schwartz-MacPherson classes for Schubert cells in flag manifolds, Fomin-Kirillov algebra, and the generalized nil-Hecke algebra. We show that nonnegativity conjecture in Fomin-Kirillov algebra implies the nonnegativity of the Chern-Schwartz-MacPherson classes for Schubert cells in flag manifolds for type A. Subalgebras of the Fomin-Kirillov algebra

The Fomin-Kirillov algebra $\mathcal E_n$ is a noncommutative quadratic algebra with a generator for every edge of the complete graph on $n$ vertices. For any graph $G$ on $n$ vertices, we define $\mathcal E_G$ to be the subalgebra of $\mathcal E_n$ generated by the edges of $G$. Combinatorial description of the cohomology of the affine flag variety

We construct the affine version of the Fomin-Kirillov algebra, called the affine FK algebra, to investigate the combinatorics of affine Schubert calculus for type $A$. We introduce Murnaghan-Nakayama elements and Dunkl elements in the affine FK algebra. We show that they are commutative as Bruhat operators, and the commutative algebra generated by these operators is isomorphic to the cohomology of the affine flag variety. Quantum double Schubert polynomials represent Schubert classes

The quantum double Schubert polynomials studied by Kirillov and Maeno, and by Ciocan-Fontanine and Fulton, are shown to represent Schubert classes in Kim's presentation of the equivariant quantum cohomology of the flag variety. We define parabolic analogues of quantum double Schubert polynomials, and show that they represent Schubert classes in the equivariant quantum cohomology of partial flag varieties. Growth Diagrams for the Schubert Multiplication

We present a partial generalization to Schubert calculus on flag varieties of the classical Littlewood-Richardson rule, in its version based on Schuetzenberger's jeu de taquin. A Gröbner basis for Kazhdan-Lusztig ideals
