We classify four-dimensional compact solvmanifolds up to diffeomorphism, while determining which of them have complex analytic structures. In particular, we shall see that a four-dimensional compact solvmanifold S can be written, up to double covering, as G/L where G is a simply connected solvable Lie group and L is a lattice of G, and every complex structure J on S is the canonical complex structure induced from a left-invariant complex structure on G. We also give a complete list of all the complex structures on four-dimensional compact homogeneous spaces, referring to their corresponding complex surfaces.
A solvmanifold is a compact differentiable manifold M on which a connected solvable Lie group G acts transitively. As the main result, we will see, applying a result of Arapura and Nori on solvable Kaehler groups and some of the author's previous results, that a compact solvmanifold admits a Kaehler structure if and only if it is a finite quotient of a complex torus which has a structure of a complex torus bundle over a complex torus. There are also quite a few comments and remarks on and around this result.
We discuss our recent results on the existence and classification problem of complex and Kaehler structures on compact solvmanifolds. In particular, we determine in this paper all the complex surfaces which are diffeomorphic to compact solvmanifolds (and compact homogeneous manifolds in general).
We observed in our previous paper that all the complex structures on four-dimensional compact solvmanifolds, including tori, are left-invariant. In this paper we will give an example of a six-dimensional compact solvmanifold which admits a continuous family of non-left-invariant complex structures. Furthermore, we will make a complete classification of three-dimensional compact homogeneous complex solvmanifolds; and determine which of them admit pseudo-Kaehler structures.
We study conditions under which sub-complexes of a double complex of vector spaces allow to compute the Bott-Chern cohomology. We are especially aimed at studying the Bott-Chern cohomology of special classes of solvmanifolds, namely, complex parallelizable solvmanifolds and solvmanifolds of splitting type. More precisely, we can construct explicit finite-dimensional double complexes that allow to compute the Bott-Chern cohomology of compact quotients of complex Lie groups, respectively, of some Lie groups of the type $\mathbb{C}^n\ltimes_φN$ where $N$ is nilpotent. As an application, we comput…
We give a precise characterization when a compact homogeneous CR-solvmanifold is CR-embeddable in a Kahler manifold. Equivalently this gives a non-Kahler criterion for complex manifolds containing CR-solvmanifolds not satisfying these conditions. This paper is the natural continuation of [OR] and [GOR].
The aim of this paper is to continue the study of Kodaira dimension for almost complex manifolds, focusing on the case of compact $4$-dimensional solvmanifolds without any integrable almost complex structure. According to the classification theory we consider: $\mathfrak{r}\mathfrak{r}_{3, -1}$, $\mathfrak{nil}^4$ and $\mathfrak{r}_{4, λ, -(1 + λ)}$ with $-1 < λ< -\frac{1}{2}$. For the first solvmanifold we introduce special families of almost complex structures, compute the corresponding Kodaira dimension and show that it is no longer a deformation invariant. Moreover we prove Ricci flatness …
We study Bott-Chern cohomology on compact complex non-Kähler surfaces. In particular, we compute such a cohomology for compact complex surfaces in class $\text{VII}$ and for compact complex surfaces diffeomorphic to solvmanifolds.

On a compact $\partial\bar\partial$-manifold $X$, one has the Hodge decomposition: the de Rham cohomology groups split into subspaces of pure-type classes as $H_{dR}^k (X)=\oplus_{p+q=k}H^{p,\,q}(X)$, where the $H^{p,\,q}(X)$ are canonically isomorphic to the Dolbeault cohomology groups $H_{\bar\partial}^{p,\,q}(X)$. For an arbitrary nonnegative integer $r$, we introduce the class of page-$r$-$\partial\bar\partial$-manifolds by requiring the analogue of the Hodge decomposition to hold on a compact complex manifold $X$ when the usual Dolbeault cohomology groups $H^{p,\,q}_{\bar\partial}(X)$ are…
We establish the Schwarz Reflection Principle for $J$-complex discs attached to a real analytic $J$-totally real submanifold of an almost complex manifold with real analytic $J$. We also prove the precise boundary regularity and derive the precise convergence in Gromov compactness theorem in $\calc^{k,α}$-classes.
In this paper we prove the following rigidity theorem: a generic analytic polyhedron with non-compact automorphism group is biholomorphic to the product of a complex manifold with compact automorphism group and a polydisk. Moreover, this complex manifold and the dimension of this polydisk can be explicitly described in terms of the limit set of the automorphism group.
In this paper we present a geometric proof of the following fact. Let $D$ be a Jordan domain in $\mathbb{C}$, and let $f$ be analytic on $cl(D)$. Then there is an injective analytic map $ϕ:D\to\mathbb{C}$, and a polynomial $p$, such that $f\equiv p\circϕ$ on $D$ (that is, $f$ has a polynomial conformal model $p$).
This is a survey of some results on the structure and classification of normal analytic compactifications of C^2. Mirroring the existing literature, we especially emphasize the compactifications for which the curve at infinity is irreducible.
We treat the boundary problem for complex varieties with isolated singularities, of complex dimension greater than or equal to 3, non necessarily compact, which are contained in strongly convex, open subsets of a complex Hilbert space H. We deal with the problem by cutting with a family of complex hyperplanes in the fashion of [2] and applying the first named author's result for the compact case [13].
We treat the boundary problem for complex varieties (with isolated singularities) of dimension greater than one, which are contained in a suitable class of strictly pseudoconvex, unbounded domains of C^n.
In the paper compact multiplier operators on Banach spaces of analytic functions on the unit disk with the range in Banach sequence lattices are studied. If the domain space $X$ is such that $H_\infty\hookrightarrow X\hookrightarrow H_1$, necessary and sufficient conditions for compactness are presented. Moreover, the calculation of the Hausdorff measure of noncompactness for diagonal operators between Banach sequence lattices is applied to obtaining the characterization of compact multipliers in case the domain space $X$ satisfies $H_\infty\hookrightarrow X\hookrightarrow H_2$.
Some new results on the convergence of nonlinear diagonal Padé--Chebyshev approximations to multivalued analytic function given on the segment $[-1,1]$, are proved. We show that these approximations converge to the given function in the "maxmimal" domain of its meromorphity and that the boundary of this maxmimal domain is an $S$-curve. The results of the work have been announced in abs/1009.4813 Bibliography: 57 items.
Using several complex variables techniques, we investigate the interplay between the geometry of the boundary and compactness of Hankel operators. Let f be a function smooth up to the boundary on a smooth bounded pseudoconvex domain D in C^n. We show that, if D is convex or the Levi form of the boundary of D is of rank at least n-2, then compactness of the Hankel operator H_f implies that f is holomorphic "along" analytic discs in the boundary. Furthermore, when D is convex in C^2 we show that the condition on f is necessary and sufficient for compactness of H_f
In this paper, we want to study the link between the presence of compact objects with some analytic structure and the global geometry of a weakly complete surface. We begin with a brief survey of some now classic results on the local geometry around a (complex) curve, which depends on the sign of its self-intersection and, in the flat case, on some more refined invariants (see the works of Grauert, Suzuki, Ueda). Then, we recall some results about the propagation of compact curves and the existence of holomorphic functions (from the works of Nishino and Ohsawa). With such considerations in min…
