Riordan Pseudo-Involutions, Continued Fractions and Somos $4$ Sequences

We define a three parameter family of Bell pseudo-involutions in the Riordan group. The defining sequences have generating functions that are expressible as continued fractions. We indicate that the Hankel transforms of the defining sequences, and of the $A$ sequences of the corresponding Riordan arrays, can be associated with Somos $4$ sequence. We give examples where these sequences can be associated with elliptic curves, and we exhibit instances where elliptic curves can give rise to associated Riordan pseudo-involutions. Restricted permutations, continued fractions, and Chebyshev polynomials

Let f_n^r(k) be the number of 132-avoiding permutations on n letters that contain exactly r occurrences of 12... k, and let F_r(x;k) and F(x,y;k) be the generating functions defined by $F_r(x;k)=\sum_{n\gs0} f_n^r(k)x^n$ and $F(x,y;k)=\sum_{r\gs0}F_r(x;k)y^r$. We find an explcit expression for F(x,y;k) in the form of a continued fraction. This allows us to express F_r(x;k) for $1\ls r\ls k$ via Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind.

Restricted Motzkin permutations, Motzkin paths, continued fractions, and Chebyshev polynomials

We say that a permutation $π$ is a Motzkin permutation if it avoids 132 and there do not exist $a<b$ such that $π_a<π_b<π_{b+1}$. We study the distribution of several statistics in Motzkin permutations, including the length of the longest increasing and decreasing subsequences and the number of rises and descents. We also enumerate Motzkin permutations with additional restrictions, and study the distribution of occurrences of fairly general patterns in this class of permutations.

Some statistics on restricted 132 involutions

In [GM] Guibert and Mansour studied involutions on n letters avoiding (or containing exactly once) 132 and avoiding (or containing exactly once) an arbitrary pattern on k letters. They also established a bijection between 132-avoiding involutions and Dyck word prefixes of same length. Pseudo-involutions in the Riordan group

We consider pseudo-involutions in the Riordan group where the generating function $g$ for the first column of a Riordan array satisfies a palindromic or near-palindromic functional equation. For those types of equations, we find, for very little work, the pseudo-involutory companion of $g$ and have a pseudo-involution in a $k$-Bell subgroup. Riordan arrays and Jacobi and Thron continued fractions

We show that certain Riordan arrays have generating functions that can be expressed as continued fractions of Jacobi and Thron type. We investigate the inverses of such arrays, which in certain circumstances can also have generating functions representable as continued fractions. Links to orthogonal polynomial moment sequences, and to Laurent biorthogonal polynomials are developed. We show that certain Riordan group involutions can be defined by continued fractions. Let $(W,S)$ be a Coxeter system and write $P_W(q)$ for its Poincaré series. Lusztig has shown that the quotient $P_W(q^2)/P_W(q)$ is equal to a certain power series $L_{W}(q)$, defined by specializing one variable in the generating function recording the lengths and absolute lengths of the involutions in $W$.
