We give an alternative approach to the computation of the dimension of the tangent space of the deformation space of curves with automorphisms. A homological version of the local-global principle similar to the one of J.Bertin, A. Mézard is proved, and a computation in the case of ordinary curves is obtained, by application of the results of S. Nakajima for the Galois module structure of the space of 2-holomorphic differentials on them.
This paper gives a new way of constructing Landau-Ginzburg mirrors using deformation theory of Lagrangian immersions motivated by the works of Seidel, Strominger-Yau-Zaslow and Fukaya-Oh-Ohta-Ono. Moreover we construct a canonical functor from the Fukaya category to the mirror category of matrix factorizations. This functor derives homological mirror symmetry under some explicit assumptions. As an application, the construction is applied to spheres with three orbifold points to produce their quantum-corrected mirrors and derive homological mirror symmetry. Furthermore we discover an enumerativ…
We provide a method to compute the dimension of the tangent space to the global infinitesimal deformation functor of a curve together with a subgroup of the group of automorphisms. The computational techniques we developed are applied to several examples including Fermat curves, $p$-cyclic covers of the affine line and to Lehr-Matignon curves.
We formulate a constructive theory of noncommutative Landau-Ginzburg models mirror to symplectic manifolds based on Lagrangian Floer theory. The construction comes with a natural functor from the Fukaya category to the category of matrix factorizations of the constructed Landau-Ginzburg model. As applications, it is applied to elliptic orbifolds, punctured Riemann surfaces and certain non-compact Calabi-Yau threefolds to construct their mirrors and functors. In particular it recovers and strengthens several interesting results of Etingof-Ginzburg, Bocklandt and Smith, and gives a unified under…
We prove a general representation stability result for polynomial coefficient systems which lets us prove representation stability and secondary homological stability for many families of groups with polynomial coefficients. This gives two generalizations of classical homological stability theorems with twisted coefficients. We apply our results to prove homological stability for hyperelliptic mapping class groups with twisted coefficients, prove new representation stability results for congruence subgroups, establish secondary homological stability for groups of diffeomorphisms of surfaces vi…
This article presents a new approach to the unobstructedness result for deformations of Calabi-Yau varieties by introducing the tangent lifting property for a functor on artinian local algebras. The verification that the deformation functor of a Calabi-Yau variety in characteristic 0 fulfills the tangent lifting property uses, just as the verification of the $T^1$-lifting property, the degeneration of the Hodge to de Rham spectral sequence. Our main use of our methods is however to the mixed characteristic case. In that case to be able to verify the conditions needed one needs an extension of …
The paper contains a collection of results related to weight structures, $t$-structures, and (more generally) to torsion pairs. For any weight structure $w$ we study (co)homological pure functors; these "ignore all weights except weight zero" and have already found several applications. We also study virtual $t$-truncations of cohomological functors coming from $w$. These are closely related to $t$-structures; so we prove in several cases (including certain categories of coherent sheaves) that $w$ "gives" a $t$-structure (that is adjacent or $Φ$-orthogonal to it). We also study in detail "well…
In this largely expository paper we extend properties of the homological duality functor $RHom_{\mathcal H}(-,{\mathcal H})$ where ${\mathcal H}$ is the Hecke algebra of a reductive $p$-adic group, to the case where it is the Hecke algebra of a finite central extension of a reductive $p$-adic group. The most important properties being that $RHom_{\mathcal H}(-,{\mathcal H})$ is concentrated in a single degree for irreducible representations and that it gives rise to Schneider--Stuhler duality for Ext groups (a Serre functor like property). Along the way we also study Grothendieck--Serre dualit…
Building on Schlessinger's work, we define a framework for studying geometric deformation problems which allows us to systematize the relationship between the local and global tangent and obstruction spaces of a deformation problem. Starting from Schlessinger's functors of Artin rings, we proceed in two steps: we replace functors to sets by categories fibered in groupoids, allowing us to keep track of automorphisms, and we work with deformation problems naturally associated to a scheme X, and which naturally localize on X, so that we can formalize the local behavior. The first step is already …
We introduce new enhancements for the bounded derived category $D^b(Coh(X))$ of coherent sheaves on a suitable scheme $X$ and for its subcategory $Perf(X)$ of perfect complexes. They are used for translating Fourier-Mukai functors to functors between derived categories of dg algebras, for relating homological smoothness of $Perf(X)$ to geometric smoothness of $X,$ and for proving homological smoothness of $D^b(Coh(X)).$ Moreover, we characterize properness of $Perf(X)$ and $D^b(Coh(X))$ geometrically.
This article gives a natural decomposition of the suspension of generalized moment-angle complexes or {\it partial product spaces} which arise as {\it polyhedral product functors} described below. In the special case of the complements of certain subspace arrangements, the geometrical decomposition implies the homological decomposition in Goresky-MacPherson \cite{goresky.macpherson}, Hochster\cite{hochster}, Baskakov \cite{baskakov}, Panov \cite{panov}, and Buchstaber-Panov \cite{buchstaber.panov}. Since the splitting is geometric, an analogous homological decomposition for a generalized momen…
Derived categories were invented by Grothendieck and Verdier around 1960, not very long after the "old" homological algebra (of derived functors between abelian categories) was established. This "new" homological algebra, of derived categories and derived functors between them, provides a significantly richer and more flexible machinery than the "old" homological algebra. For instance, the important concepts of dualizing complex and tilting complex do not exist in the "old" homological algebra. This paper is an edited version of the notes for a two-lecture minicourse given at MSRI in January 2…
In this article we use the homological methods of the theory of quasi-abelian categories and some results from functional analysis to prove Theorems A and B for (a broad sub-class of) dagger quasi-Stein spaces. In particular we show how to deduce these theorems from the vanishing, under certain hypothesis, of the higher derived functors of the projective limit functor. Our strategy of the proof generalizes and puts in a more formal framework the Kiehl's proof for rigid quasi-Stein spaces.
Given a rigid tensor-triangulated category and a vector space valued homological functor for which the Künneth isomorphism holds, we construct a universal graded-Tannakian category through which the given homological functor factors. We use this to (unconditionally) construct graded-Tannakian categories of pure motives associated to a fixed Weil cohomology theory, with a fiber functor realizing the given cohomology theory. For $\ell$-adic cohomology and a ground field which is algebraic over a finite field, this category is Tannakian. In this case, we obtain in particular motivic Galois groups…

Suppose that $f\colon X\to\mathrm{Spec}\, R$ is a minimal model of a complete local Gorenstein 3-fold, where the fibres of $f$ are at most one dimensional, so by [VdB1d] there is a noncommutative ring $Λ$ derived equivalent to $X$. For any collection of curves above the origin, we show that this collection contracts to a point without contracting a divisor if and only if a certain factor of $Λ$ is finite dimensional, improving a result of [DW2]. We further show that the mutation functor of [S6][IW4] is functorially isomorphic to the inverse of the Bridgeland--Chen flop functor in the case when…
We apply the known results on the Galois module structure of the sheaf of polydifferentials in order to study the dimension of the tangent space of the deformation functor of curves with automorphisms. We are able to find the dimension for the case of weakly ramified covers and for the case of the action of a cyclic group of order $p^v$.
We introduce a precise notion, in terms of few Schlessinger's type conditions, of extended deformation functors which is compatible with most of recent ideas in the Derived Deformation Theory (DDT) program and with geometric examples. With this notion we develop the (extended) analogue of Schlessinger and obstruction theories. The inverse mapping theorem holds for natural transformations of extended deformation functors and all such functors with finite dimensional tangent space are prorepresentable in the homotopy category.
