Alternating formulas for K-theoretic quiver polynomials

The main theorem here is the K-theoretic analogue of the cohomological `stable double component formula' for quiver functions in [Knutson, Miller, and Shimozono, math.AG/0308142]. This K-theoretic version is still in terms of lacing diagrams, but nonminimal diagrams contribute terms of higher degree. The motivating consequence is a conjecture of A. Buch on the sign-alternation of the coefficients appearing in his expansion of quiver K-polynomials in terms of stable Grothendieck polynomials for partitions [Buch, math.AG/0104029].

Alternating signs of quiver coefficients

We prove K-theoretic generalizations of the component formulas of Knutson, Miller, and Shimozono, and deduce that K-theoretic quiver coefficients have alternating signs. We also prove new variants of the factor sequences conjecture, and a conjecture of Knutson, Miller, and Shimozono stating that the double ratio formula agrees with the original quiver formulas. For completeness we include a short proof of the ratio formula for quiver varieties.

Quiver coefficients are Schubert structure constants

We give an explicit natural identification between the quiver coefficients of Buch and Fulton, decomposition coefficients for Schubert polynomials, and the Schubert structure constants for flag manifolds. This is also achieved in K-theory where we give a direct argument that the decomposition coefficients have alternating signs, based on a theorem of Brion, which then implies that the quiver coefficients have alternating signs. Our identification shows that known combinatorial formulas for the latter two numbers give formulas for the quiver coefficients.

Grothendieck polynomials and quiver formulas

Fulton's universal Schubert polynomials give cohomology formulas for a class of degeneracy loci, which generalize Schubert varieties. The K-theoretic quiver formula of Buch expresses the structure sheaves of these loci as integral linear combinations of products of stable Grothendieck polynomials. We prove an explicit combinatorial formula for the coefficients, which shows that they have alternating signs. Our result is applied to obtain new expansions for the Grothendieck polynomials of Lascoux and Schützenberger.

Grothendieck classes of quiver varieties

We prove a formula for the structure sheaf of a quiver variety in the Grothendieck ring of its embedding variety. This formula generalizes and gives new expressions for Grothendieck polynomials. We furthermore conjecture that the coefficients in our formula have signs which alternate with degree. The proof of our formula involves $K$-theoretic generalizations of several useful cohomological tools, including the Thom-Porteous formula, the Jacobi-Trudi formula, and a Gysin formula of Pragacz.

Combinatorics of Nahm sums, quiver resultants and the K-theoretic condition

Algebraic Nahm equations, considered in the paper, are polynomial equations, governing the $q\rightarrow 1$ limit of the $q$-hypergeometric Nahm sums. Three combinatorial formulas for type A quiver polynomials and K-polynomials

We provide combinatorial formulas for the multidegree and K-polynomial of an arbitrarily oriented type A quiver locus. These formulas are generalizations of three of Knutson-Miller-Shimozono's formulas from the equioriented setting; in particular, we prove the K-theoretic component formula conjectured by Buch and Rimányi.

Stable Grothendieck polynomials and K-theoretic factor sequences

We formulate a nonrecursive combinatorial rule for the expansion of the stable Grothendieck polynomials of [Fomin-Kirillov '94] in the basis of stable Grothendieck polynomials for partitions. We investigate a family of representations of Gale-Robinson quivers that are geared towards providing concrete information about the corresponding cluster algebras. In this way, we provide a representation theoretic explanation for known combinatorial formulas for the Gale-Robinson sequence and also obtain similar formulas for several other cluster variables.

Quantum Algebras and Cyclic Quiver Varieties

The purpose of this thesis is to present certain viewpoints on the geometric representation theory of Nakajima cyclic quiver varieties, in relation to the Maulik-Okounkov stable basis. Positivity in Quantum Cluster Algebras and Flags of Valued Quiver Representations

In this paper we give a direct proof of the positivity conjecture for adapted quantum cluster variables. Moreover, our process allows one to explicitly compute formulas for all adapted cluster monomials and certain ordered products of adapted cluster monomials. Orbifold diagrams

We study alternating strand diagrams on the disk with an orbifold point. These are quotients by rotation of Postnikov diagrams on the disk, and we call them orbifold diagrams. We associate a quiver with potential to each orbifold diagram, in such a way that its Jacobian algebra and the one associated to the covering Postnikov diagram are related by a skew-group algebra construction. We moreover realise this Jacobian algebra as the endomorphism algebra of a certain explicit cluster-tilting object. This is similar to (and relies on) a result by Baur-King-Marsh for Postnikov diagrams on the disk.
