We find sufficient conditions for a discrete sequence to be interpolating or sampling for certain generalized Bergman spaces on open Riemann surfaces. As in previous work of Bendtsson, Ortega-Cerda, Seip, Wallsten and others, our conditions for interpolation and sampling are as follows: If a certain upper density of the sequence has value less that 1, then the sequence is interpolating, while if a certain lower density has value greater than 1, then the sequence is sampling.
However, unlike previous work, we construct an infinite number of densities, naturally parameterized by $L^1_{loc} ([0,\infty))$. These densities provide (different) sufficient conditions for interpolation and sampling. As a consequence of this flexibility, we obtain new results even in the classical cases of the Bargmann-Fock space (of entire functions integrable with respect to a Gaussian weight) and the classical Bergman space of L^2 holomorphic functions on the unit disk.
We formalize a technique for embedding Riemann sufraces properly into \C^2, and we generalize all known embedding results to allow interpolation on prescribed discrete sequences.
We formulate the Bergman-type interpolation problem on finite open Riemann surfaces covered by the unit disk. Our version of the interpolation problem generalizes Bergman-type interpolation problems previously studied by Seip, Berntsson, Ortega Cerdà, and a number of other authors. We then prove necessary and sufficient conditions for interpolation, and also some sufficient conditions under even weaker hypotheses. The results extend work of Ortega Cerdà, who resolved the case in which the boundary of the surface is pure $1$-dimensional. Our version of the interpolation problem effectively chan…
We study the Bergman space interpolation problem of open Riemann surfaces obtained from a compact Riemann surface by removing a finite number of points. We equip such a surface with what we call an asymptotically flat conformal metric, i.e., a complete metric with zero curvature outside a compact subset. We then establish necessary and sufficient conditions for interpolation in weighted Bergman spaces over asymptotically flat Riemann surfaces.
We study multiple sampling and interpolation problems with unbounded multiplicities in the weighted Bergman space, both in the hilbertian case p = 2 and the uniform case p = +$\infty$.
We obtain sampling and interpolation theorems in radial weighted spaces of analytic functions for weights of arbitrary (more rapid than polynomial) growth. We give an application to invariant subspaces of arbitrary index in large weighted Bergman spaces.
We study multiple sampling, interpolation and uniqueness for the classical Fock spaces in the case of unbounded multiplicities. We show that there are no sequences which are simultaneously sampling and interpolating when the multiplicities tend to infinity.
This paper extends the known characterization of interpolation and sampling sequences for Bergman spaces to the mixed-norm spaces. The Bergman spaces have conformal invariance properties not shared by the mixed-norm spaces. As a result, different techniques of proof were required.
We study those smooth complex hypersurfaces W in C^n having the property that all holomorphic functions of finite weighted L^p norm on W extend to entire functions with finite weighted L^p norm. Such hypersurfaces are called interpolation hypersurfaces. We also examine the dual problem of finding all sampling hypersurfaces, i.e., smooth hypersurfaces W in C^n such that any entire function with finite weighted L^p norm is stably determined by its restriction to W. We provide sufficient geometric conditions on the hypersurface to be an interpolation and sampling hypersurface. The geometric condi…
We give a complete description of Riesz bases of reproducing kernels in small Fock spaces. This characterization is in the spirit of the well known Kadets--Ingham 1/4 theorem for Paley--Wiener spaces. Contrarily to the situation in Paley--Wiener spaces, a link can be established between Riesz bases in the Hilbert case and corresponding complete interpolating sequences in small Fock spaces with associated uniform norm. These results allow to show that if a sequence has a density stricly different from the critical one then either it can be completed or reduced to a complete interpolating sequen…
We present sufficient conditions on a smooth uniformly flat hypersurface W in the unit ball to be an interpolation hypersurface or a sampling hypersurface for generalized Bergman spaces associated to the unit ball with its Bergman metric. The conditions are phrased in terms of a geometric Beurling-type densities, similar to the densities defined for hypersurfaces in C^n by Ortega-Cerda, Schuster and the second author. For the case of sampling, our proofs are different than those in the C^n case; we use an approach closer in spirit to the work of Berndtsson and Ortega-Cerda in the 1-dimensional…
Two different problems are considered here. First, a version of Schwarz-Pick Lemma for $n$ points leads to an interpolation problem for analytic functions from the disc into itself, which may be considered as a particular case of the classical Nevanlinna-Pick interpolation problem. Second, a characterization of sampling sequences for this class of functions is given.
We provide a description of the interpolating and sampling sequences on a space of holomorphic functions with a uniform growth restriction defined on finite Riemann surfaces.
We give a complete description of sampling and interpolation in the Bargmann-Fock space, based on a density concept of Beurling. Roughly speaking, a discrete set is a set of sampling if and only if its density in every part of the plane is strictly larger than that of the von Neumann lattice, and similarly, a discrete set is a set of interpolation if and only if its density in every part of the plane is strictly smaller than that of the von Neumann lattice.
Carleson measures and interpolating and sampling sequences for weighted Bergman spaces on the unit disk are described for weights that are radial and grow faster than the standard weights $(1-|z|)^{-α}$, $0<α<1$. These results make the Hardy space $H^2$ appear naturally as a "degenerate" endpoint case for the class of Bergman spaces under study.
Introduced by Coifman, Meyer, and Stein, the tent spaces have seen wide applications in Harmonic Analysis. Their analytic cousins have seen some applications involving the derivatives of Hardy space functions. Moreover, the tent spaces have been a recent focus of research. We introduce the concept of interpolating and sampling sequences for analytic tent spaces analogously to the same concepts for Bergman spaces. We then characterize such sequences in terms of Seip's upper and lower uniform density. We accomplish this by exploiting a kind of Möbius invariance for the tent spaces.
Answering a question of Lindholm, we prove strict density inequalities for sampling and interpolation in Fock spaces of entire functions in several complex variables defined by a plurisubharmonic weight. In particular, these spaces do not admit a set that is simultaneously sampling and interpolating. To prove optimality of the density conditions, we construct sampling sets with a density arbitrarily close to the critical density. The techniques combine methods from several complex variables (estimates for $\bar \partial$) and the theory of localized frames in general reproducing kernel Hilbert…
Let $X$ be an open Riemann surface. We prove an Oka property on the approximation and interpolation of continuous maps $X \to (\mathbb{C}^*)^2$ by proper holomorphic embeddings, provided that we permit a smooth deformation of the complex structure on $X$ outside a certain set. This generalises and strengthens a recent result of Alarcon and Lopez. We also give a Forstneric-Wold theorem for proper holomorphic embeddings (with respect to the given complex structure) of certain open Riemann surfaces into $(\mathbb{C}^*)^2$.
We study the equidistribution of Fekete points in a compact complex manifold. These are extremal point configurations defined through sections of powers of a positive line bundle. Their equidistribution is a known result. The novelty of our approach is that we relate them to the problem of sampling and interpolation on line bundles, which allows us to estimate the equidistribution of the Fekete points quantitatively. In particular we estimate the Kantorovich-Wasserstein distance of the Fekete points to its limiting measure. The sampling and interpolation arrays on line bundles are a subject of…
It was shown by James Tung in 2005 that if a sequence $Z=\{z_n\}$ of points in the complex plane satisfies $$\inf_{n\not=m}|z_n-z_m|>2/\sqrtα,$$ then $Z$ is a sequence of interpolation for the Fock space $F^p_α$. Using results from circle packing, we show that the constant above can be improved to $$\sqrt{2π/(\sqrt3\,α)},$$ which is strictly smaller than $2/\sqrtα$. A similar result will also be obtained for sampling sequences.
The de Branges spaces of entire functions generalise the classical Paley-Wiener space of square summable bandlimited functions. Specifically, the square norm is computed on the real line with respect to weights given by the values of certain entire functions. For the Paley-Wiener space, this can be chosen to be an exponential function where the phase increases linearly. As our main result, we establish a natural geometric characterisation, in terms of densities, for real sampling and interpolating sequences in the case when the derivative of the phase function merely gives a doubling measure o…
