This is a survey on the local structure about a fixed point of discrete finite-dimensional holomorphic dynamical systems, discussing in particular the existence of local topological conjugacies to normal forms, and the structure of local stable sets in the non-hyperbolic case. The author hopes to keep the survey up to date, and thus it would be grateful to anybody pointing out missing (or mistaken) results and references, and/or suggesting topics to be included or expanded in it.

Asymptotic behavior of discrete holomorphic maps z^c, log(z) and discrete Painleve transcedents

It is shown that discrete analogs of z^c and log(z) have the same asymptotic behavior as their smooth counterparts. These discrete maps are described in terms of special solutions of discrete Painleve-II equations, asymptotics of these solutions providing the behaviour of discrete z^c and log(z) at infinity.

Diagonalization of non-diagonalizable discrete holomorphic dynamical systems

Local dynamics for fibered holomorphic transformations

Fibered holomorphic dynamics are skew-product transformations over an irrational rotation, whose fibers are holomorphic functions. In this paper we study such a dynamics on a neighborhood of an invariant curve. We obtain some results analogous to the results in the non fibered case.

We show by explicit example that local intersection multiplicities in holomorphic dynamical systems can grow arbitrarily fast, answering a question of V. I. Arnold. Global dynamics and perspectives on singularities of holomorphic foliations

In dimensions greater than or equal to 3, the local structure of a singular holomorphic foliation conceals a globally defined foliation on the projective space of dimension one less. In this paper, we will discuss how the global dynamics of the latter foliation exerts influence on several problems that apparently have a purely local nature. In the course of the discussion, a few recent results and open problems in the area will be reviewed as well.

Self-similar groups and holomorphic dynamics: Renormalization, integrability, and spectrum

In this paper, we explore the spectral measures of the Laplacian on Schreier graphs for several self-similar groups (the Grigorchuk, Lamplighter, and Hanoi groups) from the dynamical and algebro-geometric viewpoints. For these graphs, classical Schur renormalization transformations act on appropriate spectral parameters as rational maps in two variables. We show that the spectra in question can be interpreted as asymptotic distributions of slices by a line of iterated pullbacks of certain algebraic curves under the corresponding rational maps (leading us to a notion of a spectral current).
