We establish two nonlinear retarded integral inequalities. Bounds on the solution of some retarded equations are then obtained.
We establish some nonlinear integral inequalities for functions defined on a time scale. The results extend some previous Gronwall and Bihari type inequalities on time scales. Some examples of time scales for which our results can be applied are provided. An application to the qualitative analysis of a nonlinear dynamic equation is discussed.
Gronwall-Bellman type inequalities entail the following implication: if a sufficiently integrable function satisfies a certain homogeneous linear integral inequality, then it is nonpositive. We present a minimal (necessary and sufficient) condition on the Borel measure underlying the integrals for this implication to hold. The condition is also a necessary prerequisite for any nontrivial bound on solutions to inhomogeneous linear integral inequalities of Gronwall-Bellman type.

This paper presents a new type of Gronwall-Bellman inequality, which arises from a class of integral equations with a mixture of nonsingular and singular integrals. The new idea is to use a binomial function to combine the known Gronwall-Bellman inequalities for integral equations having nonsingular integrals with those having singular integrals. Based on this new type of Gronwall-Bellman inequality, we investigate the existence and uniqueness of the solution to a fractional stochastic differential equation (SDE) with fractional order on (0, 1). This result generalizes the existence and unique…
This paper provides equivalence characterizations of homogeneous Triebel-Lizorkin and Besov-Lipschitz spaces, denoted by $\dot{F}^s_{p,q}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ and $\dot{B}^s_{p,q}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ respectively, in terms of maximal functions of the mean values of iterated difference. It also furnishes the reader with inequalities in $\dot{F}^s_{p,q}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ in terms of iterated difference and in terms of iterated difference along coordinate axes. The corresponding inequalities in $\dot{B}^s_{p,q}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ in terms of iterated difference and in terms of iterated difference along coordinate …

This paper gives new two-weight bump conditions for the sparse operators related to iterated commutators of fractional integrals. As applications, the two-weight bounds for iterated commutators of fractional integrals under more general bump conditions are obtained. Meanwhile, the necessity of two-weight bump conditions as well as the converse of Bloom type estimates for iterated commutators of fractional integrals are also given.
Given a Calderón-Zygmund operator $T$, a classic result of Coifman-Rochberg-Weiss relates the norm of the commutator $[b, T]$ with the BMO norm of $b$. We focus on a weighted version of this result, obtained by Bloom and later generalized by Lacey and the authors, which relates $\| [b, T] : L^p(\mathbb{R}^n; μ) \to L^p(\mathbb{R}^n; λ) \|$ to the norm of $b$ in a certain weighted BMO space determined by $A_p$ weights $μ$ and $λ$. We extend this result to higher iterates of the commutator and recover a one-weight result of Chung-Pereyra-Perez in the process.
We establish some linear and nonlinear integral inequalities of Gronwall-Bellman-Bihari type for functions with two independent variables on general time scales. The results are illustrated with examples, obtained by fixing the time scales to concrete ones. An estimation result for the solution of a partial delta dynamic equation is given as an application.
In this paper a reduction and equivalence theorems for the boundedness of the composition of a quasilinear operator $T$ with the Hardy and Copson operators in weighted Lebesgue spaces are proved. New equivalence theorems are obtained for the operator $T$ to be bounded in weighted Lebesgue spaces restricted to the cones of monotone functions, which allow to change the cone of non-decreasing functions to the cone of non-increasing functions and vice versa not changing the operator $T$. New characterizations of the weighted Hardy-type inequalities on the cones of monotone functions are given. The…
In this paper we characterize the validity of the Hardy-type inequality \begin{equation*} \left\|\left\|\int_s^{\infty}h(z)dz\right\|_{p,u,(0,t)}\right\|_{q,w,\infty}\leq c \,\|h\|_{1,v,\infty} \end{equation*} where $0<p< \infty$, $0<q\leq +\infty$, $u$, $w$ and $v$ are weight functions on $(0,\infty)$. It is pointed out that this characterization can be used to obtain new characterizations for the boundedness between weighted Lebesgue spaces for Hardy-type operators restricted to the cone of monotone functions and for the generalized Stieltjes operator.
Motivated by some applications in applied mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics and engineering sciences, new tight Turán type inequalities for modified Bessel functions of the first and second kind are deduced. These inequalities provide sharp lower and upper bounds for the Turánian of modified Bessel functions of the first and second kind, and in most cases the relative errors of the bounds tend to zero as the argument tends to infinity. The chief tools in our proofs are some ideas of Gronwall [19] on ordinary differential equations, an integral representation of Ismail [28,29] for the qu…
In this paper we provide quantitative Bloom type estimates for iterated commutators of fractional integrals improving and extending results from a work of Holmes, Rahm and Spencer. We give new proofs for those inequalities relying upon a new sparse domination that we provide as well in this paper and also in techniques developed in a recent paper due to Lerner, Ombrosi and the third author. We extend as well the necessity established in the work of Holmes, Rahm and Spencer to iterated commutators providing a new proof. As a consequence of the preceding results we recover the one weight estimat…
Let A be a subset of the real line. We study the fractal dimensions of the k-fold iterated sumsets kA, defined as kA = A+...+A (k times). We show that for any non-decreasing sequence {a_k} taking values in [0,1], there exists a compact set A such that kA has Hausdorff dimension a_k for all k. We also show how to control various kinds of dimension simultaneously for families of iterated sumsets. These results are in stark contrast to the Plunnecke-Rusza inequalities in additive combinatorics. However, for lower box-counting dimension, the analogue of the Plunnecke-Rusza inequalities does hold.
We develop a new method that enables us to solve the open problem of characterizing discrete inequalities for kernel operators involving suprema. More precisely, we establish necessary and sufficient conditions under which there exists a positive constant $C$ such that \begin{equation*} \Bigg(\sum_{n\in\mathbb{Z}}\Bigg(\sum_{i=-\infty}^n {U}(i,n) a_i\Bigg)^{q} {w}_n\Bigg)^{\frac{1}{q}} \le C \Bigg(\sum_{n\in\mathbb{Z}}a_n^p {v}_n\Bigg)^{\frac{1}{p}} \end{equation*} holds for every sequence of nonnegative numbers $\{a_n\}_{n\in\mathbb{Z}}$ where $U$ is a kernel satisfying certain regularity con…

We show that on $\mathbb S^1(1/\sqrt{d-2})\times\mathbb S^{d-1}(1)$ the conformally invariant Sobolev inequality holds with a remainder term that is the fourth power of the distance to the optimizers. The fourth power is best possible. This is in contrast to the more usual vanishing to second order and is motivated by work of Engelstein, Neumayer and Spolaor. A similar phenomenon arises for subcritical Sobolev inequalities on $\mathbb S^d$. Our proof proceeds by an iterated Bianchi-Egnell strategy.
