We build on the work by Davies, extending the Helffer-Sjöstrand Functional Calculus domain for semi-bounded operators on Banach spaces given a priori controlled growth of the resolvents. We employ Seeley's Extension Theorem to extend smooth functions on the half line to the whole line and thus indirectly define functions of these operators.

A transference principle for general groups and functional calculus on UMD spaces

We prove a transference principle for general (i.e., not necessarily bounded) strongly continuous groups on Banach spaces. If the Banach space has the UMD property, the transference principle leads to estimates for the functional calculus of the group generator. Bounded H_\infty-calculus for pseudodifferential Douglis-Nirenberg systems of mild regularity

Parameter-ellipticity with respect to a closed subsector of the complex plane for pseudodifferential Douglis-Nirenberg systems is discussed and shown to imply the existence of a bounded H_\infty-calculus in suitable scales of Sobolev, Besov, and Hoelder spaces. We also admit non pseudodifferential perturbations. Applications concern systems with coefficients of mild Hoelder regularity and the generalized thermoelastic plate equations.

Spectral multiplier theorems and averaged R-boundedness

Let $A$ be a $0$-sectorial operator with a bounded $H^\infty(Σ\_σ)$-calculus for some $σ\in (0,π),$ e.g. a Laplace type operator on $L^p(Ω),\: 1 < p < \infty,$ where $Ω$ is a manifold or a graph. We show that $A$ has a H{ö}rmander functional calculus if and only if certain operator families derived from the resolvent $(λ- A)^{-1},$ the semigroup $e^{-zA},$ the wave operators $e^{itA}$ or the imaginary powers $A^{it}$ of $A$ are $R$-bounded in an $L^2$-averaged sense. If $X$ is an $L^p(Ω)$ space with $1 \leq p < \infty,$ $R$-boundedness reduces to well-known estimates of square sums.

Semi-classical calculus on manifolds with ends and weighted Lp estimates

Semiclassical functional calculus for $h$-dependent functions

Non commutative functional calculus: unbounded operators

In a recent work, \cite{cgss}, we developed a functional calculus for bounded operators defined on quaternionic Banach spaces. In this paper we show how the results from \cite{cgss} can be extended to the unbounded case, and we highlight the crucial differences between the two cases. In particular, we deduce a new eigenvalue equation, suitable for the construction of a functional calculus for operators whose spectrum is not necessarily real.

Pseudo-differential calculus on homogeneous trees

In the objective of studying concentration and oscillation properties of eigenfunctions of the discrete Laplacian on regular graphs, we construct a pseudo-differential calculus on homogeneous trees, their universal covers. We define symbol classes and associated operators. We prove that these operators are bounded on L^2 and give adjoint and product formulas. Finally we compute the symbol of the commutator of a pseudo-differential operator with the Laplacian.
