We construct an explicit regulator map from the weigh n Bloch Higher Chow group complexto the weight n Deligne complex of a regular complex projective algebraic variety X. We define the Arakelovweight n motivic complex as the cone of this map shifted by one. Its last cohomology group is (a version of) the Arakelov Chow group defined by H. Gillet. and C.Soule.
We relate the Grassmannian n-logarithms (defined as in [G5]) to geometry of the symmetric space for GL_n(C). For n=2 we recover Lobachevsky's formula for the volume of an ideal geodesic tetrahedron via the dilogarithm.
Using the relationship with symmetric spaces we construct the Borel regulator on K_{2n-1}(C) via the Grassmannian n-logarithms.
We study the Chow dilogarithm and prove a reciprocity law which strengthens Suslin's reciprocity law for Milnor's K_3 on curves.
We show that the constructions done in part I generalize their classical counterparts: firstly, the classical Beilinson regulator is induced by the abstract Chern class map from $BGL$ to the Deligne cohomology spectrum. Secondly, Arakelov motivic cohomology is a generalization of arithmetic $K$-theory and arithmetic Chow groups. Finally, we give a conceptual explanation of the height pairing: it is given by the natural pairing of motivic homology and Arakelov motivic cohomology.
This paper introduces a new cohomology theory for schemes of finite type over an arithmetic ring. The main motivation for this Arakelov-theoretic version of motivic cohomology is the conjecture on special values of $L$-functions and zeta functions formulated by the second author. Taking advantage of the six functors formalism in motivic stable homotopy theory, we establish a number of formal properties, including pullbacks for arbitrary morphisms, pushforwards for projective morphisms between regular schemes, localization sequences, $h$-descent. We round off the picture with a purity result an…
We define a regulator map from the weight n polylogarithmic motivic complex to the weight n Deligne complex of an algebraic variety X. The regulator map is constructed explicitly via the classical polylogarithms with some funny combinations of Bernoulli numbers as coefficients. This leads to conjectures on special values of L-functions at s=n which reduce to Zagier's conjecture when X is of dimension zero over Q. The cone of this map, shifted by one, should be called the Arakelov motivic complex of X. Its last cohomology group is identified with a group of codimension n Arakelov cycles on X.
We introduce a family of periods of mixed Tate motives called dissection polylogarithms, that are indexed by combinatorial objects called dissection diagrams. The motivic coproduct on the former is encoded by a combinatorial Hopf algebra structure on the latter. This generalizes Goncharov's formula for the motivic coproduct on (generic) iterated integrals. Our main tool is the study of the relative cohomology group corresponding to a bi-arrangement of hyperplanes.
The integral $t$-motivic cohomology and the class module of a (rigid analytically trivial) Anderson $t$-motive were introduced by the first author in [Gaz22b]. This paper is devoted to their determination in the particular case of tensor powers of the Carlitz $t$-motive, namely, the function field counterpart $\underline{A}(n)$ of Tate twists $\mathbb{Z}(n)$. We find out that these modules are in relation with fundamental objects of function field arithmetic: integral $t$-motivic cohomology governs linear relations among Carlitz polylogarithms, its torsion is expressed in terms of the denomina…
The specializations of the motivic elliptic polylog are called motivic Eisenstein classes. For applications to special values of L-Functions, it is important to compute the realizations of these classes. In this paper, we prove that the syntomic realization of the motivic Eisenstein classes, restricted to the ordinary locus of the modular curve, may be expressed using p-adic Eisenstein-Kronecker series. These p-adic modular forms are defined using the two-variable p-adic measure with values in p-adic modular forms constructed by Katz.
We develop the theory of multiple polylogarithms from analytic, Hodge and motivic point of view. Define the category of mixed Tate motives over a ring of integers in a number field. Describe explicitly the multiple polylogarithm Hopf algebra.

These are extended abstracts from an series of lectures in 1997. The text has not been updated since then. We explain the construction of the motivic polylog as published in Annette Huber, Jörg Wildeshaus, Classical Motivic Polylogarithm According to Beilinson and Deligne, Doc.Math.J.DMV 3 (1998) 27-133. The main application is a comparison result for cyclotomic elements needed in the proof of the Tamagawa number conjecture of Bloch and Kato for Dirichlet characters. The exposition concentrates on the Hodge theoretic part of the story.
We define motivic multiple polylogarithms and prove the double shuffle relations for them. We use this to study the motivic fundamental group of the multiplicative group - {N-th roots of unity} and relate it to geometry of modular varieties. In particular we get new information about the actionof the Galois group on the pro-l completion of the above fundamental group. This paper is the second part of "Multiple polylogarithms and mixed Tate motives" math.AG/0103059
We construct algebraic cycles in Bloch's cubical cycle group which correspond to multiple polylogarithms with generic arguments. Moreover, we construct out of them a Hopf subalgebra in the Bloch-Kriz cycle Hopf algebra. In the process, we are led to other Hopf algebras built from trees and polygons, which are mapped to the latter. We relate the coproducts to the one for Goncharov's motivic multiple polylogarithms and to the Connes-Kreimer coproduct on plane trees and produce the associated Hodge realization for polygons.
In this paper we prove that the motivic Eisenstein classes associated to polylogarithms of commutative group schemes can be $p$-adically interpolated in étale cohomology. This generalizes results for elliptic curves obtained in our former work. Already for one dimensional commutative groups the results proved here are much more flexible as they allow to treat degeneration questions easily.
For any positive integer $N$ let $μ_N$ be the group of the $N$th roots of unity. In this note we shall study the $\Q$-linear relations among values of multiple polylogarithms evaluated at $\mmu_N$. We show that the standard relations considered by Racinet do not provide all the possible relations in the following cases: (i) level N=4, weight $w=3$ or 4, and (ii) $w=2$, $7<N<50$, and $N$ is a power of 2 or 3, or $N$ has at least two prime factors. We further find some (presumably all) of the missing relations in (i) by using the octahedral symmetry of $¶^1-(\{0,\infty\}\cup μ_4)$. We also prove…
Polylogarithms are those multiple polylogarithms that factor through a certain quotient of the de Rham fundamental group of the thrice punctured line known as the polylogarithmic quotient. Building on work of Dan-Cohen, Wewers, and Brown, we push the computational boundary of our explicit motivic version of Kim's method in the case of the thrice punctured line over an open subscheme of $\mathrm{Spec}\,\mathbb{Z}$. To do so, we develop a greatly refined version of the algorithm of Dan-Cohen tailored specifically to this case, and we focus attention on the polylogarithmic quotient. This allows u…
For a field $F$ and a given integer $n>1$, Goncharov has given a complex $Γ_F(n)$ which he calls motivic and which he expects to rationally compute the weight $n$ motivic cohomology of $\text{Spec }F$, and hence its algebraic $K$-groups in Adams weight $n$, and he was also led to---conjecturally quasiisomorphic---`thickened' complexes thereof. These complexes involve tensor products of higher Bloch groups, the latter having been linked to the geometry of certain configurations in Goncharov's proof of Zagier's Polylogarithm Conjecture for weight 3, and an analogous picture has long been envisio…
In this paper we describe a connection between realizations of the action of the motivic Galois group on the motivic fundamental groups of Gaussian and Eisenstein elliptic curves punctured at the $\mathfrak{p}$-torsion points, $π_1^{\rm Mot}(E-E[\mathfrak{p}],v_0)$, and the geometry of the Bianchi hyperbolic threefolds $Γ_1(\mathfrak{p})\setminus\mathbb{H}^3$, where $Γ_1(\mathfrak{p})$ is a congruence subgroup of ${\rm GL}_2({\rm End}(E))$. The first instance of such a connection was found by A.Goncharov (arXiv:math/0510310). In particular, we study the Hodge realization of the image of the ab…
The fractional polylogarithms, depending on a complex parameter $\a$, are defined by a series which is analytic inside the unit disk. After an elementary conversion of the series into an integral presentation, we show that the fractional polylogarithms are multivalued analytic functions in the complex plane minus 0 and 1. For non-integer values of $\a$, we prove the analytic continuation, compute the monodromy around 0 and 1, give a Mittag-Leffler decomposition and compute the asymptotic behavior for large values of the complex variable. The fractional polylogarithms are building blocks of res…
Eisenstein classes of Siegel varieties are motivic cohomology classes defined as pull-backs by torsion sections of the polylogarithm prosheaf on the universal abelian scheme. By reduction to the Hilbert-Blumenthal case, we prove that the Betti realization of these classes on Siegel varieties of arbitrary genus have non-trivial residue on zero dimensional strata of the Baily-Borel compactification. A direct corollary is the non-vanishing of a higher regulator map.
