We prove that the Hausdorff dimension of the trace of SLE_6 is almost surely 7/4 and give a more direct derivation of the result (due to Lawler-Schramm-Werner) that the dimension of its boundary is 4/3. We also prove that, for all κ<8, the SLE_κ trace has cut-points.
We establish an upper bound on the asymptotic probability of an SLE(kappa) curve hitting two small intervals on the real line as the interval width goes to zero, for the range 4 < kappa < 8. As a consequence we are able to prove that the SLE curve intersected with the real line has Hausdorff dimension 2-8/kappa, almost surely.
The peanosphere construction of Duplantier, Miller, and Sheffield provides a means of representing a $γ$-Liouville quantum gravity (LQG) surface, $γ\in (0,2)$, decorated with a space-filling form of Schramm's SLE$_κ$, $κ= 16/γ^2 \in (4,\infty)$, $η$ as a gluing of a pair of trees which are encoded by a correlated two-dimensional Brownian motion $Z$. We prove a KPZ-type formula which relates the Hausdorff dimension of any Borel subset $A$ of the range of $η$ which can be defined as a function of $η$ (modulo time parameterization) to the Hausdorff dimension of the corresponding time set $η^{-1}(…
Suppose that $h$ is a Gaussian free field (GFF) on a planar domain. Fix $κ\in (0,4)$. The SLE$_κ$ light cone ${\mathbf L}(θ)$ of $h$ with opening angle $θ\in [0,π]$ is the set of points reachable from a given boundary point by angle-varying flow lines of the (formal) vector field $e^{i h/χ}$, $χ= \tfrac{2}{\sqrtκ} - \tfrac{\sqrtκ}{2}$, with angles in $[-\tfracθ{2},\tfracθ{2}]$. We derive the Hausdorff dimension of ${\mathbf L}(θ)$. If $θ=0$ then ${\mathbf L}(θ)$ is an ordinary SLE$_κ$ curve (with $κ< 4$); if $θ= π$ then ${\mathbf L}(θ)$ is the range of an SLE$_{κ'}$ curve ($κ' = 16/κ> 4$). In …
Let $γ$ be the curve generating a Schramm--Loewner Evolution (SLE) process, with parameter $κ\geq0$. We prove that, with probability one, the Hausdorff dimension of $γ$ is equal to $\operatorname {Min}(2,1+κ/8)$.
We prove a formula relating the Hausdorff dimension of a deterministic Borel subset of $\mathbb R$ and the Hausdorff dimension of its image under a conformal map from the upper half-plane to a complementary connected component of an SLE$_κ$ curve for $κ\not =4$. Our proof is based on the relationship between SLE and Liouville quantum gravity together with the one-dimensional KPZ formula of Rhodes-Vargas (2011) and the KPZ formula of Gwynne-Holden-Miller (2015). As an intermediate step we prove a KPZ formula which relates the Euclidean dimension of a subset of an SLE$_κ$ curve for $κ\in (0,4)\c…
We make use of the fact that a two-sided whole-plane Schramm-Loewner evolution (SLE$_κ$) curve $γ$ for $κ\in(0,8)$ from $\infty$ to $\infty$ through $0$ may be parametrized by its $d$-dimensional Minkowski content, where $d=1+\fracκ8$, and become a self-similar process of index $\frac 1d$ with stationary increments. We prove that such $γ$ is locally $α$-Hölder continuous for any $α<\frac 1d$. In the case $κ\in(0,4]$, we show that $γ$ is not locally $\frac 1d$-Hölder continuous. We also prove that, for any deterministic closed set $A\subset \mathbb{R}$, the Hausdorff dimension of $γ(A)$ almost …
Suppose that $η$ is a Schramm-Loewner evolution (SLE$_κ$) in a smoothly bounded simply connected domain $D \subset {\mathbb C}$ and that $ϕ$ is a conformal map from ${\mathbb D}$ to a connected component of $D \setminus η([0,t])$ for some $t>0$. The multifractal spectrum of $η$ is the function $(-1,1) \to [0,\infty)$ which, for each $s \in (-1,1)$, gives the Hausdorff dimension of the set of points $x \in \partial {\mathbb D}$ such that $|ϕ'( (1-ε) x)| = ε^{-s+o(1)}$ as $ε\to 0$. We rigorously compute the a.s. multifractal spectrum of SLE, confirming a prediction due to Duplantier. As corollar…
Some possible definitions for the natural parametrization of SLE (Schramm-Loewner evolution) paths are proposed in terms of various limits. One of the definitions is used to give a new proof of the Hausdorff dimension of SLE paths.
SLE is a random growth process based on Loewner's equation with driving parameter a one-dimensional Brownian motion running with speed $κ$. This process is intimately connected with scaling limits of percolation clusters and with the outer boundary of Brownian motion, and is conjectured to correspond to scaling limits of several other discrete processes in two dimensions. The present paper attempts a first systematic study of SLE. It is proved that for all $κ\ne 8$ the SLE trace is a path; for $κ\in[0,4]$ it is a simple path; for $κ\in(4,8)$ it is a self-intersecting path; and for $κ>8$ it is …
We prove that a uniform infinite quadrangulation of the half-plane decorated by a self-avoiding walk (SAW) converges in the scaling limit to the metric gluing of two independent Brownian half-planes identified along their positive boundary rays. Combined with other work of the authors, this implies the convergence of the SAW on a random quadrangulation to SLE$_{8/3}$ on a certain $\sqrt{8/3}$-Liouville quantum gravity surface. The topology of convergence is the local Gromov-Hausdorff-Prokhorov-uniform topology, the natural generalization of the local Gromov-Hausdorff topology to curve-decorate…
We compute the almost-sure Hausdorff dimension of the double points of chordal SLE_kappa for kappa > 4, confirming a prediction of Duplantier-Saleur (1989) for the contours of the FK model. We also compute the dimension of the cut points of chordal SLE_kappa for kappa > 4 as well as analogous dimensions for the radial and whole-plane SLE_kappa(rho) processes for kappa > 0. We derive these facts as consequences of a more general result in which we compute the dimension of the intersection of two flow lines of the formal vector field e^{ih/chi}, where h is a Gaussian free field and chi > 0, of d…
We consider chordal SLE(kappa) curves for kappa > 4, where the intersection of the curve with the boundary is a random fractal of almost sure Hausdorff dimension min {2-8/kappa,1}. We study the random sets of points at which the curve collides with the real line at a specified "angle" and compute an almost sure dimension spectrum describing the metric size of these sets. We work with the forward SLE flow and a key tool in the analysis is Girsanov's theorem, which is used to study events on which moments concentrate. The two-point correlation estimates are proved using the direct method.
We study the possible scaling limits of percolation interfaces in two dimensions on the triangular lattice. When one lets the percolation parameter p(N) vary with the size N of the box that one is considering, three possibilities arise in the large-scale limit. It is known that when p(N) does not converge to 1/2 fast enough, then the scaling limits are degenerate, whereas if p(N) - 1 / 2 goes to zero quickly, the scaling limits are SLE(6) as when p=1/2. We study some properties of the (non-void) intermediate regime where the large scale behavior is neither SLE(6) nor degenerate. We prove that …
We determine with positive probability the Hausdorff dimension of the level sets of a class of Navier-Stokes α-models at finite viscosity, forced by mildly rough Gaussian white noise.
The frontier of a planar Brownian motion is the boundary of the unbounded component of the complement of its range. In this paper we find the Hausdorff dimension of the set of double points on the frontier.
We establish a uniform Hausdorff dimension result for the inverse image sets of real-valued strictly $α$-stable Lévy processes with $1< α\le 2$. This extends a theorem of Kaufman for Brownian motion. Our method is different from that of Kaufman and depends on covering principles for Markov processes.
In this work we study the Hausdorff dimension of measures whose weight distribution satisfies a markov non-homogeneous property. We prove, in particular, that the Hausdorff dimensions of this kind of measures coincide with their lower Rényi dimensions (entropy). Moreover, we show that the Tricot dimensions (packing dimension) equal the upper Rényi dimensions. As an application we get a continuity property of the Hausdorff dimension of the measures, when it is seen as a function of the distributed weights under the $\ell^{\infty}$ norm.
We determine the Hausdorff dimension for the range of a class of pure jump Markov processes in $\mathbb{R}^d$, which turns out to be random and depends on the trajectories of these processes. The key argument is carried out through the SDE representation of these processes. The method developed here also allows to compute the Hausdorff dimension for the graph.
We introduce a new concept of dimension for metric spaces, the so-called topological Hausdorff dimension. It is defined by a very natural combination of the definitions of the topological dimension and the Hausdorff dimension. The value of the topological Hausdorff dimension is always between the topological dimension and the Hausdorff dimension, in particular, this new dimension is a non-trivial lower estimate for the Hausdorff dimension. We examine the basic properties of this new notion of dimension, compare it to other well-known notions, determine its value for some classical fractals suc…
We argue that the Hausdorff dimension D of a quantum gravity random surface is always D=4, irrespective of the conformal central charge c, c between -2 and 1, of a critical statistical model possibly borne by it. The Knizhnik-Polyakov-Zamolodchikov (KPZ) relation allows one to determine the dimension D from the exact Hausdorff dimension of random maps with large faces, recently rigorously studied by Le Gall and Miermont, and reformulated by Borot, Bouttier and Guitter as a loop model on a random quadrangulation. This contradicts several earlier conjectured formulae for D in terms of c.
In this paper, we present a second partial solution for the problem of cardinality calculation of the set of fractals for its subcategory of the random virtual ones. Consistent with the deterministic case, we show that for the given quantities of Hausdorff dimension and Lebesgue measure, there are aleph-two virtual random fractals with almost surely Hausdorff dimension of a bivariate function of them and the expected Lebesgue measure equal to the later one. The associated results for three other fractal dimensions are similar to the case given for the Hausdorff dimension. The problem remains u…
