The geometry arising from Michelson & Strominger's study of N=4B supersymmetric quantum mechanics with superconformal D(2,1;alpha)-symmetry is a hyperKaehler manifold with torsion (HKT) together with a special homothety. It is shown that different parameters alpha are related via changes in potentials for the HKT target spaces. For alpha not 0 or -1, we describe how each such HKT 4m-manifold M is derived from a space N of dimension 4m-4 which is quaternionic Kaehler with torsion and carries an Abelian instanton.

Hyperkaehler manifolds with torsion obtained from hyperholomorphic bundles

We construct examples of compact hyperkaehler manifolds with torsion (HKT manifolds) which are not homogeneous and not locally conformal hyperkaehler. Consider a total space T of a tangent bundle over a hyperkaehler manifold M. The manifold T is hypercomplex, but it is never hyperkaehler, unless M is flat. We show that T admits an HKT-structure. We also prove that a quotient of T by a $\Z$-action $v \arrow q^n v$ is HKT, for any real number $q\in \R$, $q>1$. This quotient is compact, if M is compact. A compactness theorem for hyperkaehler 4-manifolds with boundary

In this paper, we study the compactness of a boundary value problem for hyperkaehler 4-manifolds. We show that under certain topological conditions and the positive mean curvature condition on the boundary, a sequence of hyperkaehler triples converges smoothly up to diffeomorphisms if and only if their restrictions to the boundary converge smoothly up to diffeomorphisms. We also generalize this result to torsion-free hypersymplectic triples.

Hyperkaehler manifolds with torsion, supersymmetry and Hodge theory

Calibrations in hyperkahler geometry

We describe a family of calibrations arising naturally on a hyperkähler manifold $M$. These calibrations calibrate the holomorphic Lagrangian, holomorphic isotropic and holomorphic coisotropic subvarieties. When $M$ is an HKT (hyperkaehler with torsion) manifold with holonomy $SL(n, {\Bbb H})$, we construct another family of calibrations $Φ_i$, which calibrates holomorphic Lagrangian and holomorphic coisotropic subvarieties. The calibrations $Φ_i$ are (generally speaking) not parallel with respect to any torsion-free connection on $M$.

Reduction of Vaisman structures in complex and quaternionic geometry

We consider locally conformal Kaehler geometry as an equivariant (homothetic) Kaehler geometry: a locally conformal Kaehler manifold is, up to equivalence, a pair (K,Γ) where K is a Kaehler manifold and Γa discrete Lie group of biholomorphic homotheties acting freely and properly discontinuously. A hypercomplex manifold is a manifold equipped with a triple of complex structures satisfying the quaternionic relations. Balanced HKT metrics and strong HKT metrics on hypercomplex manifolds

A manifold (M,I,J,K) is called hypercomplex if I,J,K are complex structures satisfying quaternionic relations. Two-Dimensional Supersymmetric Sigma Models on Almost-Product Manifolds and Non-Geometry

We show that the superconformal symmetries of the (1,1) sigma model decompose into a set of more refined symmetries when the target space admits projectors $P_{\pm}$, and the orthogonal complements $Q_{\pm}$, covariantly constant with respect to the two natural torsionful connections $\nabla^{(\pm)}$ that arise in the sigma model. Stable bundles on hypercomplex surfaces

A hypercomplex manifold is a manifold equipped with three complex structures I, J, K satisfying the quaternionic relations.
