Critical behavior of the massless free field at the depinning transition

We consider the d-dimensional massless free field localized by a delta-pinning of strength e. We study the asymptotics of the variance of the field, and of the decay-rate of its 2-point function, as e goes to zero, for general Gaussian interactions. Physically speaking, we thus rigorously obtain the critical behavior of the transverse and longitudinal correlation lengths of the corresponding d+1-dimensional effective interface model in a non-mean-field regime. We also describe the set of pinned sites at small e, for a broad class of d-dimensional massless models.

Depinning as a coagulation process

We consider a one-dimensional sandpile model which mimics an elastic string of particles driven through a strongly pinning periodic environment with phase disorder. The evolution towards depinning occurs by the triggering of avalanches in regions of activity which are at first isolated but later grow and merge. For large system sizes the dynamically critical behavior is dominated by the coagulation of these active regions. Critical properties and finite--size estimates for the depinning transition of directed random polymers

We consider models of directed random polymers interacting with a defect line, which are known to undergo a pinning/depinning (or localization/delocalization) phase transition. Smoothing effect of quenched disorder on polymer depinning transitions

We consider general disordered models of pinning of directed polymers on a defect line. This class contains in particular the $(1+1)$--dimensional interface wetting model, the disordered Poland--Scheraga model of DNA denaturation and other $(1+d)$--dimensional polymers in interaction with flat interfaces. Subthreshold behavior and avalanches in an exactly solvable Charge Density Wave system

We present a toy charge density wave (CDW) model in 1d exhibiting a depinning transition with threshold force and configurations that are explicit.
