We give a presentation of Schur algebras (over the rational number field) by generators and relations, in fact a presentation which is compatible with Serre's presentation of the universal enveloping algebra of a simple Lie algebra. In the process we find a new basis for Schur algebras, a truncated form of the usual PBW basis. We also locate the integral Schur algebra within the presented algebra as the analogue of Kostant's Z-form, and show that it has an integral basis which is a truncated version of Kostant's basis.
Two super-analogs of the Schur-Weyl duality are considered: the duality of actions in $(\mathbb{C}^{m|n})^{\otimes N}$ of the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(m,n)$ and the symmetric group $S_N$, and the duality of actions of the Lie superalgebra $Q(n)$ and a certain finite group $Se(N)$ in $(\mathbb{C}^{n|n})^{\otimes N}$. We construct an isomorphism of symmetric and universal enveloping algebras of these Lie superalgebras called special symmetrization. Using this isomorphism of vector spaces we describe explicitly the duality between the centers of the corresponding universal enveloping algeb…
Degenerating the quantum queer Schur superalgebra ${\mathcal{Q}_q(n,r; R)}$ to the case $q=1$, the queer Schur superalgebra ${\mathcal{Q}(n,r)}$ is obtained. In this article, we reconstruct the universal enveloping algebra ${U({\mathfrak{q}_n})}$ of the queer Lie superalgebra ${\mathfrak{q}_n}$ via ${\mathcal{Q}(n,r)}$, and achieve another explanation of the Schur-Weyl-Sergeev duality. Finally, we depict the Schur-Weyl-Sergeev duality over $\mathbb{Z}$.
We prove a Schur-Weyl duality between the quantum enveloping algebra of $\mathfrak{gl}_m$ and certain quotient algebras of Ariki-Koike algebras, which we give explicitly. The duality involves several algebraically independent parameters and is realized through the tensor product of a parabolic universal Verma module and a tensor power of the natural representation of $\mathfrak{gl}_m$. We also give a new presentation by generators and relations of the generalized blob algebras of Martin and Woodcock as well as an interpretation in terms of Schur-Weyl duality by showing they occur as a particul…
In this paper are introduced two classes of elements in the enveloping algebra $\mathbf{U}(gl(n))$: the \emph{double Young-Capelli bitableaux} $[\ \fbox{$S \ | \ T$}\ ]$ and the \emph{central} \emph{Schur elements} $\mathbf{S}_λ(n)$, that act in a remarkable way on the highest weight vectors of irreducible Schur modules. Any element $\mathbf{S}_λ(n)$ is the sum of all double Young-Capelli bitableaux $[\ \fbox{$S \ | \ S$}\ ]$, $S$ row (strictly) increasing Young tableaux of shape $\widetildeλ$. The Schur elements $\mathbf{S}_λ(n)$ are proved to be the preimages - with respect to the Harish-Cha…
In this paper we study the integral form of the lattice vertex algebra $V_L$. We show that divided powers of general vertex operators preserve the integral lattice spanned by Schur functions indexed by partition-valued functions. We also show that the Garland operators, counterparts of divided powers of Heisenberg elements in affine Lie algebras, also preserve the integral form. These construe analogs of the Kostant $\mathbb Z$-forms for the enveloping algebras of simple Lie algebras and the algebraic affine Lie groups in the situation of the lattice vertex algebras.
