The decomposition of tensor products of representations into irreducibles is studied for a continuous family of integrable operator representations of $U_q(sl(2,R)$. It is described by an explicit integral transformation involving a distributional kernel that can be seen as an analogue of the Clebsch-Gordan coefficients. Moreover, we also study the relation between two canonical decompositions of triple tensor products into irreducibles. It can be represented by an integral transformation with a kernel that generalizes the Racah-Wigner coefficients. This kernel is explicitly calculated.
The Clebsch-Gordan and Racah-Wigner coefficients for the positive (or negative) discrete series of irreducible representations for the noncompact form $U_q(SU(1,1))$ of the algebra $U_q(sl(2))$ are computed.
The Askey-Wilson algebra $AW(3)$ with three generators is shown to serve as a hidden symmetry algebra underlying the Racah and (new) generalized Clebsch-Gordan problems for the quantum algebra $sl_q(2)$. On the base of this hidden symmetry a simple method to calculate corresponding coefficients in terms of the Askey-Wilson polynomials is proposed.
We show that the Clebsch - Gordan coefficients for the $SU(2)_{p,q}$ - algebra depend on a single parameter Q = $\sqrt{pq}$ ,contrary to the explicit calculation of Smirnov and Wehrhahn [J.Phys.A 25 (1992),5563].
We show that multivariable colored link invariants are derived from the roots of unity representations of $U_q(g)$. We propose a property of the Clebsch-Gordan coefficients of $U_q(g)$, which is important for defining the invariants of colored links. For $U_q(sl_2) we explicitly prove the property, and then construct invariants of colored links and colored ribbon graphs, which generalize the multivariable Alexander polynomial.
We compare two approaches to the calculation of irreducible characters of the Lie algebra gl(infinity)^ with negative integral central charge. As a consequence, we obtain a "reciprocity formula" for Clebsch-Gordan coefficients, in the limit when the central charge tends to infinity.
A $q$-analog of the Clebsch Gordan rules for the tensor products of the fundamental representations of Yangian is introduced. Its relation to the crystal base theory and application to the spinon character formulas are discussed in case of $C_2^{(1)}$ explicitly.
Representation theory for the Jordanian quantum algebra U=U_h(sl(2)) is developed using a nonlinear relation between its generators and those of sl(2). Closed form expressions are given for the action of the generators of U on the basis vectors of finite dimensional irreducible representations. In the tensor product of two such representations, a new basis is constructed on which the generators of U have a simple action. Using this basis, a general formula is obtained for the Clebsch-Gordan coefficients of U. It is shown that the Clebsch-Gordan matrix is essentially the product of a triangular…
Two descriptions of the dual $-1$ Hahn algebra are presented and shown to be related under Howe duality. The dual pair involved is formed by the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{o}(4)$ and the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{osp}(1|2)$.
Representation theory for the Jordanian quantum algebra $U=U_h(sl(2))$ is developed. Closed form expressions are given for the action of the generators of U on the basis vectors of finite dimensional irreducible representations. It is shown how representation theory of U has a close connection to combinatorial identities involving summation formulas. A general formula is obtained for the Clebsch-Gordan coefficients $C^{j_1,j_2,j}_{n_1,n_2,m}(h)$ of U. These Clebsch-Gordan coefficients are shown to coincide with those of su(2) for $n_1+n_2 \leq m$, but for $n_1+n_2 > m$ they are in general a no…
We calculate (q-deformed) Clebsch-Gordan and 6j-coefficients for rank two quantum groups. We explain in detail how such calculations are done, which should allow the reader to perform similar calculations in other cases. Moreover, we tabulate the q-Clebsch-Gordan and 6j-coefficients explicitly, as well as some other topological data associated with theories corresponding to rank-two quantum groups. Finally, we collect some useful properties of the fusion rules of particular conformal field theories.
We present the projection operator method in combination with the Wigner-Racah calculus of the subalgebra U_q(su(2)) for calculation of Clebsch-Gordan coefficients (CGCs) of the quantum algebra U_q(su(3)). The key formulas of the method are couplings of the tensor and projection operators and also a tensor form for the projection operator of U_q(su(3)). We obtain a very compact general analytical formula for the U_q(su(3)) CGCs in terms of the U_q(su(2)) Wigner 3nj-symbols.
The algebra H of the dual -1 Hahn polynomials is derived and shown to arise in the Clebsch-Gordan problem of sl_{-1}(2). The dual -1 Hahn polynomials are the bispectral polynomials of a discrete argument obtained from a q-> -1 limit of the dual q-Hahn polynomials. The Hopf algebra sl_{-1}(2) has four generators including an involution, it is also a q-> -1 limit of the quantum algebra sl_{q}(2) and furthermore, the dynamical algebra of the parabose oscillator. The algebra H, a two-parameter generalization of u(2) with an involution as additional generator, is first derived from the recurrence r…
The interpretation of the Meixner-Pollaczek, Meixner and Laguerre polynomials as overlap coefficients in the positive discrete series representations of the Lie algebra su(1,1) and the Clebsch-Gordan decomposition leads to generalisations of the convolution identities for these polynomials. Using the Racah coefficients convolution identities for continuous Hahn, Hahn and Jacobi polynomials are obtained. From the quantised universal enveloping algebra for su(1,1) convolution identities for the Al-Salam and Chihara polynomials and the Askey-Wilson polynomials are derived by using the Clebsch-Gor…
We consider the quantum double D(G) of a compact group G, following an earlier paper. We use the explicit comultiplication on D(G) in order to build tensor products of irreducible *-representations. Then we study their behaviour under the action of the R-matrix, and their decomposition into irreducible *-representations. The example of D(SU(2)) is treated in detail, with explicit formulas for direct integral decomposition (`Clebsch-Gordan series') and Clebsch-Gordan coefficients. We point out possible physical applications.
Representations of a quantum-deformed Lorentz algebra, Clebsch-Gordan map, and Fenchel-Nielsen representation of complex Chern-Simons theory at level-${N}$
The irreducible $*$-representations of the Lie algebra $su(1,1)$ consist of discrete series representations, principal unitary series and complementary series. We calculate Racah coefficients for tensor product representations that consist of at least two discrete series representations. We use the explicit expressions for the Clebsch-Gordan coefficients as hypergeometric functions to find explicit expressions for the Racah coefficients. The Racah coefficients are Wilson polynomials and Wilson functions. This leads to natural interpretations of the Wilson function transforms. As an application…
In the present paper we review the $q$-analogue of the Quantum Theory of Angular Momentum based on the $q$-algebra $su_q(2)$, with a special emphasis on the representation of the Clebsch-Gordan coefficients in terms of $q$-hypergeometric series. This representation allows us to obtain several known properties of the Clebsch-Gordan coefficients in an unified and simple way.
Gasper & Rahman's multivariate $q$-Racah polynomials are shown to arise as connection coefficients between families of multivariate $q$-Hahn or $q$-Jacobi polynomials. The families of $q$-Hahn polynomials are constructed as nested Clebsch--Gordan coefficients for the positive-discrete series representations of the quantum algebra $su_q(1,1)$. This gives an interpretation of the multivariate $q$-Racah polynomials in terms of $3nj$ symbols. It is shown that the families of $q$-Hahn polynomials also arise in wavefunctions of $q$-deformed quantum Calogero--Gaudin superintegrable systems.
A covariant - tensor method for $SU(2)_{q}$ is described. This tensor method is used to calculate q - deformed Clebsch - Gordan coefficients. The connection with covariant oscillators and irreducible tensor operators is established. This approach can be extended to other quantum groups.
Representations of the quantum superalgebra U_q[osp(1/2)] and their relations to the basic hypergeometric functions are investigated. We first establish Clebsch-Gordan decomposition for the superalgebra U_q[osp(1/2)] in which the representations having no classical counterparts are incorporated. Formulae for these Clebsch-Gordan coefficients are derived, and it is observed that they may be expressed in terms of the $Q$-Hahn polynomials. We next investigate representations of the quantum supergroup OSp_q(1/2) which are not well-defined in the classical limit. Employing the universal T-matrix, t…
We determine the Clebsch-Gordan and Racah-Wigner coefficients for continuous series of representations of the quantum deformed algebras U_q(sl(2)) and U_q(osp(1|2)). While our results for the former algebra reproduce formulas by Ponsot and Teschner, the expressions for the orthosymplectic algebra are new. Up to some normalization factors, the associated Racah-Wigner coefficients are shown to agree with the fusing matrix in the Neveu-Schwarz sector of N=1 supersymmetric Liouville field theory.
Using the Fronsdal-Galindo formula for the exponential mapping from the quantum algebra $U_{p,q}(gl(2))$ to the quantum group $GL_{p,q}(2)$, we show how the $(2j+1)$-dimensional representations of $GL_{p,q}(2)$ can be obtained by `exponentiating' the well-known $(2j+1)$-dimensional representations of $U_{p,q}(gl(2))$ for $j$ $=$ $1,{3/2},... $; $j$ $=$ 1/2 corresponds to the defining 2-dimensional $T$-matrix. The earlier results on the finite-dimensional representations of $GL_q(2)$ and $SL_q(2)$ (or $SU_q(2)$) are obtained when $p$ $=$ $q$. Representations of $U_{\bar{q},q}(2)$ $(q$ $\in$ $\C…
Highest weight representations of $U_q(su(1,1))$ with $q=\exp πi/N$ are investigated. The structures of the irreducible hieghesat weight modules are discussed in detail. The Clebsch-Gordan decomposition for the tensor product of two irreducible representations is discussed. By using the results, a representation of $SL(2,R)\otimes U_q(su(2))$ is also presented in terms of holomorphic sections which also have $U_q(su(2))$ index. Furthermore we realise $Z_N$-graded supersymmetry in terms of the representation. An explicit realization of $Osp(1 \vert 2)$ via the heighest weight representation of …
We study representations of $U_q(su(1,1))$ that can be considered as quantum analogs of tensor products of irreducible *-representations of the Lie algebra $su(1,1)$. We determine the decomposition of these representations into irreducible *-representations of $U_q(su(1,1))$ by diagonalizing the action of the Casimir operator on suitable subspaces of the representation spaces. This leads to an interpretation of the big $q$-Jacobi polynomials and big $q$-Jacobi functions as quantum analogs of Clebsch-Gordan coefficients.

The tensor product of vector and arbitrary representations of the nonstandard q-deformation U'_q(so(n)) of the universal enveloping algebra U(so(n)) of Lie algebra so(n) is defined. The Clebsch-Gordan coefficients of tensor product of vector and arbitrary classical or nonclassical type representations of q-algebra U'_q(so(n)) are found in an explicit form. The Wigner-Eckart theorem for vector operators is proved.
