We give a new estimate on Stieltjes integrals of Hölder continuous functions and use it to prove an existence-uniqueness theorem for solutions of ordinary differential equations with Hölder continuous forcing. We construct stochastic integrals with respect to fractional Brownian motion, and establish sufficient conditions for its existence. We prove that stochastic differential equations with fractional Brownian motion have a unique solution with probability 1 in certain classes of Hölder-continuous functions. We give tail estimates of the maximum of stochastic integrals from tail estimates of the Hölder coefficient of fractional Brownian motion. In addition we apply the techniques used for ordinary Brownian motion to construct stochastic integrals of deterministic functions with respect to fractional Brownian motion and give tail estimates of its maximum.
We derive general sufficient conditions for the existence of Riemann-Stieltjes integrals $\int_a^b Yd X$. Our results extend the classical conditions of L.C.Young and improve some recent results that deal with integrals involving a fractional Brownian motion with the Hurst index $H>1/2$.
We establish strong uniqueness for a class of degenerate SDEs of weak H{ö}rmander type under suitable H{ö}lder regularity conditions for the associated drift term. Our approach relies on the Zvonkin transform which requires to exhibit good smoothing properties of the underlying parabolic PDE with rough, here H{ö}lder, drift coefficients and source term. Such regularizing effects are established through a perturbation technique (forward parametrix approach) which also heavily relies on appropriate duality properties on Besov spaces. For the method employed, we exhibit some sharp thresholds on t…
We consider non degenerate Brownian SDEs with H{ö}lder continuous in space diffusion coefficient and unbounded drift with linear growth. We derive two sided bounds for the associated density and pointwise controls of its derivatives up to order two under some additional spatial H{ö}lder continuity assumptions on the drift. Importantly, the estimates reflect the transport of the initial condition by the unbounded drift through an auxiliary, possibly regularized, flow.
In this paper we consider the random walk approximation of the solution of a Markovian BSDE whose terminal condition is a locally H{ö}lder continuous function of the Brownian motion. We state the rate of the L 2-convergence of the approximated solution to the true one. The proof relies in part on growth and smoothness properties of the solution u of the associated PDE. Here we improve existing results by showing some properties of the second derivative of u in space.
Using the determinantal formula of Biane, Bougerol, and O'Connell, we give multitime joint probability densities to the noncolliding Brownian motion with drift, where the number of particles is finite. We study a special case such that the initial positions of particles are equidistant with a period $a$ and the values of drift coefficients are well-ordered with a scale $σ$. We show that, at each time $t >0$, the single-time probability density of particle system is exactly transformed to the biorthogonal Stieltjes-Wigert matrix model in the Chern-Simons theory introduced by Dolivet and Tierz. …
We prove change of variables formulas [Itô formulas] for functions of both arithmetic and geometric averages of geometric fractional Brownian motion. They are valid for all convex functions, not only for smooth ones. These change of variables formulas provide us integral representations of functions of average in the sense of generalized Lebesgue-Stieltjes integral.
In this note we prove an existence and uniqueness result of solution for stochastic Volterra integral equations driven by a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter H > 1/2, showing also that the solution has finite moments. The stochastic integral with respect to the fractional Brownian motion is a pathwise Riemann-Stieltjes integral.
In this note we prove the existence of a density for the law of the solution for 1-dimensional stochastic delay differential equations with normal reflection. The equations are driven by a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $H > 1/2$. The stochastic integral with respect to the fractional Brownian motion is a pathwise Riemann-Stieltjes integral.
In this note we prove an existence and uniqueness result of solution for stochastic differential delay equations with hereditary drift driven by a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $H > 1/2$. Then, we show that, when the delay goes to zero, the solutions to these equations converge, almost surely and in $L^p$, to the solution for the equation without delay. The stochastic integral with respect to the fractional Brownian motion is a pathwise Riemann-Stieltjes integral.
For general $β\geq 1$, we consider Dyson Brownian motion at equilibrium and prove convergence of the extremal particles to an ensemble of continuous sample paths in the limit $N \to \infty$. For each fixed time, this ensemble is distributed as the Airy$_β$ random point field. We prove that the increments of the limiting process are locally Brownian. When $β>1$ we prove that after subtracting a Brownian motion, the sample paths are almost surely locally $r$-H{ö}lder for any $r<1-(1+β)^{-1}$. Furthermore for all $β\geq 1$ we show that the limiting process solves an SDE in a weak sense. When $β=2…
In this note we prove an existence and uniqueness result for the solution of multidimensional stochastic delay differential equations with normal reflection. The equations are driven by a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $H>1/2$. The stochastic integral with respect to the fractional Brownian motion is a pathwise Riemann--Stieltjes integral.
We study the transformed path measure arising from the self-interaction of a three-dimensional Brownian motion via an exponential tilt with the Coulomb energy of the occupation measures of the motion by time $t$. The logarithmic asymptotics of the partition function were identified in the 1980s by Donsker and Varadhan [DV83-P] in terms of a variational formula. Recently [MV14] a new technique for studying the path measure itself was introduced, which allows for proving that the normalized occupation measure asymptotically concentrates around the set of all maximizers of the formula. In the pre…
This paper is devoted to a system of stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) that have a slow component driven by fractional Brownian motion (fBm) with the Hurst parameter $H >1/2$ and a fast component driven by fast-varying diffusion. It improves previous work in two aspects: Firstly, using a stopping time technique and an approximation of the fBm, we prove an existence and uniqueness theorem for a class of mixed SPDEs driven by both fBm and Brownian motion; Secondly, an averaging principle in the mean square sense for SPDEs driven by fBm subject to an additional fast-varying diffus…
We focus on fast-slow systems involving both fractional Brownian motion (fBm) and standard Brownian motion (Bm). The integral with respect to Bm is the standard Ito integral, and the integral with respect to fBm is the generalised Riemann-Stieltjes integral using the tools of fractional calculus. An averaging principle in which the fast-varying diffusion process of the fast-slow systems acts as a noise to be averaged out in the limit is established. It is shown that the slow process has a limit in the mean square sense, which is characterized by the solution of stochastic differential equation…
In this paper an analytic operator-valued generalized Feynman integral was studied on a very general Wiener space $C_{a,b}[0,T]$. The general Wiener space $C_{a,b}[0,T]$ is a function space which is induced by the generalized Brownian motion process associated with continuous functions $a$ and $b$. The structure of the analytic operator-valued generalized Feynman integral is suggested and the existence of the analytic operator-valued generalized Feynman integral is investigated as an operator from $L^1(\mathbb R, ν_{δ,a})$ to $L^{\infty}(\mathbb R)$ where $ν_{δ,a}$ is a $σ$-finite measure on $…
We consider the ordinary differential equation (ODE) $dx_{t} =b(t,x_{t} ) dt+ dw_{t}$ where $w$ is a continuous driving function and $b$ is a time-dependent vector field which possibly is only a distribution in the space variable. We quantify the regularising properties of an arbitrary continuous path $w$ on the existence and uniqueness of solutions to this equation. In this context we introduce the notion of $ρ$-\tmtextit{irregularity} and show that it plays a key role in some instances of the regularisation by noise phenomenon. In the particular case of a function $w$ sampled according to th…
For any real-valued stochastic process $X$ with cŕdlŕg paths we define non-empty family of processes which have locally finite total variation, have jumps of the same order as the process $X$ and uniformly approximate its paths on compacts. The application of the defined class is the definition of stochastic integral with semimartingale integrand and integrator as a limit of pathwise Lebesgue-Stieltjes integrals. This construction leads to the stochastic integral with some correction term (different from the Stratonovich integral). We compare the obtained result with classical results of Wong-…
We consider the fractional Cox-Ingersoll-Ross process satisfying the stochastic differential equation (SDE) $dX_t = aX_t\,dt + σ\sqrt{X_t}\,dB^H_t$ driven by a fractional Brownian motion (fBm) with Hurst parameter exceeding $\frac{2}{3}$. The integral $\int_0^t\sqrt{X_s}dB^H_s$ is considered as a pathwise integral and is equal to the limit of Riemann-Stieltjes integral sums. It is shown that the fractional Cox-Ingersoll-Ross process is a square of the fractional Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process until the first zero hitting. Based on that, we consider the square of the fractional Ornstein-Uhlenbeck p…
