A countable set of asymptotic space -- localized solutions is constructed by the complex germ method in the adiabatic approximation for 3D Hartree type equations with a quadratic potential. The asymptotic parameter is 1/T, where $T\gg1$ is the adiabatic evolution time. A generalization of the Berry phase of the linear Schrödinger equation is formulated for the Hartree type equation. For the solutions constructed, the Berry phases are found in explicit form.

Berry phases for the nonlocal Gross-Pitaevskii equation with a quadratic potential

A countable set of asymptotic space -- localized solutions is constructed by the complex germ method in the adiabatic approximation for the nonstationary Gross -- Pitaevskii equation with nonlocal nonlinearity and a quadratic potential. Quadratic Morawetz inequalities and asymptotic completeness in the energy space for nonlinear Schr"odinger and Hartree equations

Recently several authors have developed multilinear and in particular quadratic extensions of the classical Morawetz inequality. Those extensions provide (among other results) an easy proof of asymptotic completeness in the energy space for nonlinear Schr"odinger equations in arbitrary space dimension and for Hartree equations in space dimension greater than two in the noncritical cases. We give a pedagogical review of the latter results.

Fluctuations of eigenvector overlaps and the Berry conjecture for Wigner matrices

We prove that any finite collection of quadratic forms (overlaps) of general deterministic matrices and eigenvectors of an $N\times N$ Wigner matrix has joint Gaussian fluctuations. This can be viewed as the random matrix analogue of the Berry random wave conjecture.

Multivariate Central Limit Theorem in Quantum Dynamics

We consider the time evolution of $N$ bosons in the mean field regime for factorized initial data. Fluctuations around Hartree states in the mean-field regime

We consider the dynamics of a large system of N interacting bosons in the mean-field regime where the interaction is of order 1/N. We prove that the fluctuations around the nonlinear Hartree state are generated by an effective quadratic Hamiltonian in Fock space, which is derived from Bogoliubov's approximation. We use a direct method in the N-particle space, which is different from the one based on coherent states in Fock space.

On global classical solutions of the time-dependent von Neumann equation for Hartree-Fock systems

This paper is concerned with the well-posedness analysis of the Hartree-Fock system modeling the time evolution of a quantum system comprised of fermions. Geometrical phase for a three-dimensional anisotropic quantum well

A three-dimensional anisotropic quantum well placed in an adiabatically precessing uniform magnetic field is considered and an explicit formula for the Berry phase is obtained. To get the Berry phase, a purely algebraic algorithm of reducing a quadratic Hamiltonian to the canonical form via symplectic transformations of the phase space is presented.

Pair correlation densities of inhomogeneous quadratic forms II

Denote by $\| \cdot \|$ the euclidean norm in $\RR^k$. We prove that the local pair correlation density of the sequence $\| \vecm -\vecalf \|^k$, $\vecm\in\ZZ^k$, is that of a Poisson process, under diophantine conditions on the fixed vector $\vecalf\in\RR^k$: in dimension two, vectors $\vecalf$ of any diophantine type are admissible; in higher dimensions ($k>2$), Poisson statistics are only observed for diophantine vectors of type $κ<(k-1)/(k-2)$. Our findings support a conjecture of Berry and Tabor on the Poisson nature of spectral correlations in quantized integrable systems.

Collective excitations of Bose gases in the mean-field regime

We study the spectrum of a large system of $N$ identical bosons interacting via a two-body potential with strength $1/N$. In this mean-field regime, Bogoliubov's theory predicts that the spectrum of the $N$-particle Hamiltonian can be approximated by that of an effective quadratic Hamiltonian acting on Fock space, which describes the fluctuations around a condensed state. Optimal Upper Bound for the Correlation Energy of a Fermi Gas in the Mean-Field Regime

While Hartree-Fock theory is well established as a fundamental approximation for interacting fermions, it has been unclear how to describe corrections to it due to many-body correlations.
