A Backlund transformation(BT) and a recurrence formula are derived by the homogeneous balance(HB) method. A initial problem of Burgers equations is reduced to a initial problem of heat equation by the BT, the initial problem of heat equation is resolved by the Fourier transformation method, substituting various solutions of the initial problem of the heat equation will yield solutions of the initial problem of the Burgers equations.
We establish the existence, uniqueness, and stability of the stationary solution of the one-dimensional viscous Burgers equation with the Dirichlet boundary conditions on a finite interval. We obtain explicit formulas for solutions and analytically determine the Lyapunov exponents characterizing the asymptotic behavior of arbitrary solutions approaching the stationary one.
A new recurrence relation for exceptional orthogonal polynomials is proposed, which holds for type 1, 2 and 3. As concrete examples, the recurrence relations are given for Xj-Hermite, Laguerre and Jacobi polynomials in j = 1,2 case.
We study a formulation of Burgers equation on the Sierpinski gasket, which is the prototype of a p.c.f. self-similar fractal. One possibility is to implement Burgers equation as a semilinear heat equation associated with the Laplacian for scalar functions, just as on the unit interval. Here we propose a second, different formulation which follows from the Cole-Hopf transform and is associated with the Laplacian for vector fields. The difference between these two equations can be understood in terms of different vertex conditions for Laplacians on metric graphs. For the second formulation we sh…
The present work demonstrates the connections between the Burgers, diffusion, and Schroedinger's equations. The starting point is a formulation of the stochastic mechanics, which is modeled along the lines of the scale relativity theory. The resulting statistical description obeys the Fokker-Planck equation. This paper further demonstrates the connection between the two approaches, embodied by the study of the Burgers equation, which from this perspective appears as a stochastic geodesic equation. The main result of the article is the transparent derivation of the Born rule from the starting p…
The history of linear differential equations is over 350 years. By using Frobenius method and putting the power series expansion into linear differential equations, the recursive relation of coefficients starts to appear. There can be between two and infinity number of coefficients in the recurrence relation in the power series expansion. During this period mathematicians developed analytic solutions of only two term recursion relation in closed forms. Currently the analytic solution of three term recurrence relation is unknown. In this paper I will generalize the three term recurrence relatio…
We propose new type of $q$-diffusive heat equation with nonsymmetric $q$-extension of the diffusion term. Written in relative gradient variables this system appears as the $q$- viscous Burgers' equation. Exact solutions of this equation in polynomial form as generalized Kampe de Feriet polynomials, corresponding dynamical symmetry and description in terms of Bell polynomials are derived. We found the generating function for these polynomials by application of dynamical symmetry and the Zassenhaus formula. We have constructed and analyzed shock solitons and their interactions with different $q$…
We consider the flow of Burgers' equation on an open set of (small) functions in $L^2([0,1])$. We derive explicitly the Koopman decomposition of the Burgers' flow. We identify the frequencies and the coefficients of this decomposition as eigenvalues and eigenfunctionals of the Koopman operator. We prove the convergence of the Koopman decomposition for $t>0$ for small Cauchy data, and up to $t=0$ for regular Cauchy data. The convergence up to $t=0$} leads to a `completeness' property for the basis of Koopman modes. We construct all modes and eigenfunctionals, including the eigenspaces involved …
We consider a class of nearest-neighbor weakly asymmetric mass conservative particle systems evolving on $\mathbb{Z}$, which includes zero-range and types of exclusion processes, starting from a perturbation of a stationary state. When the weak asymmetry is of order $O(n^{-γ})$ for $1/2<γ\leq1$, we show that the scaling limit of the fluctuation field, as seen across process characteristics, is a generalized Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. However, at the critical weak asymmetry when $γ=1/2$, we show that all limit points satisfy a martingale formulation which may be interpreted in terms of a stoch…
A well known recurrence relation for the 6j-symbol of the quantum group su_q(2) is realized as a tridiagonal, symmetric eigenvalue problem. This formulation can be used to implement an efficient numerical evaluation algorithm, taking advantage of existing specialized numerical packages. For convenience, all formulas relevant for such an implementation are collected in the appendix. This realization is a byproduct of an alternative proof of the recurrence relation, which generalizes a classical (q=1) result of Schulten and Gordon and uses the diagrammatic spin network formalism of Temperley-Lie…
