In this article, we establish the $A$-Berezin number and $A$-Berezin norm inequalities for bounded linear operators on a reproducing kernel Hilbert space using the Moore-Penrose inverse. We further extend these inequalities to the case of the sum of two bounded linear operators. As an application, upper bounds of the Berezin number and Berezin norm of block matrices have been discussed via the Moore-Penrose inverse. The inequalities established here offer both refinements and generalizations of previous results.
In this paper we characterize Moore-Penrose inverses of Gram matrices leaving a cone invariant in an indefinite inner product space using indefinite matrix multiplication. This characterization includes the acuteness (or obtuseness) of certain closed convex cones.
In this paper we derive necessary and sufficient conditions for the nonnegativity of Moore-Penrose inverses of unbounded Gram operators between real Hilbert spaces. These conditions include statements on acuteness of certain closed convex cones. The main result generalizes the existing result for bounded operators [11, Theorem 3.6].
The weighted Moore-Penrose inverse will be introduced and studied in the context of Banach algebras. In addition, weighted EP Banach algebra elements will be characterized. The Banach space operator case will be also considered.
In this article we explore several aspects concerning to the Moore-Penrose inverse of a bounded linear operator. On the one hand, we study monotonicity properties of the Moore-Penrose inverse with respect to the Löwner, star, minus, sharp and diamond orders. On the other hand, we analyze the validity of the reverse order law, $B^\dagger A^\dagger=(AB)^\dagger$, under hypothesis of operator ranges and also under hypothesis of order operators. Finally, we study the operator $B^\dagger A^\dagger$ as different weighted inverses of $AB$.
Let $K,\,H$ be Hilbert spaces and let $L(K,H)$ denote the set of all bounded linear operators from $K$ to $H$. Let $A \in L(H)\triangleq L(H,H)$ with $R(A)$ closed and $X,Y \in L(K,H)$ with $R(X)\subseteq R(A),R(Y)\subseteq R(A^*)$. In this short note, we give some new expressions of the Moore--Penrose inverse $(A-XY^*)^+$ of $A-XY^*$ under certain suitable conditions.
The main concern of this note is the Moore-Penrose inverse in the context of Banach spaces and algebras. Especially attention will be given to a particular class of elements with the aforementioned inverse, namely EP Banach space operators and Banach algebra elements, which will be studied and characterized extending well-known results obtained in the frame of Hilbert space operators and $C^*$-algebra elements.
In this article properties of the $(b, c)$-inverse, the inverse along an element, the outer inverse with prescribed range and null space $A^{(2)}_{T, S}$ and the Moore-Penrose inverse will be studied in the contexts of Banach spaces operators, Banach algebras and $C^*$-algebras. The main properties to be considered are the continuity, the differentiability and the openness of the sets of all invertible elements defined by all the aforementioned outer inverses but the Moore-Penrose inverse. The relationship between the $(b, c)$-inverse and the outer inverse $A^{(2)}_{T, S}$ will be also charact…
Let $H_1,H_2$ be complex Hilbert spaces and $T:H_1\rightarrow H_2$ be a densely defined closed operator with domain $D(T)\subseteq H_1$ and $T^{\dagger}$ be the Moore-Penrose inverse of $T$. Let $S:H_1\rightarrow H_2$ be a bounded operator. In this article we focus our attention on the following questions: $1.$ Under what conditions closedness of range of $T$ will imply the closedness of range of $T+S$? $2.$ What is the relation between $T^{\dagger}$ and $(T+S)^{\dagger}$? $3.$ What is the relation between $T^{\dagger}$ and $S^{\dagger}$?.

A Krein space H and bounded linear operators B, C on H are given. Then, some min and max problems about the operators (BX - C)^{#}(BX -C), where X runs over the space of all bounded linear operators on H, are discussed. In each case, a complete answer to the problem, including solvability conditions and characterization of the solutions, is presented. Also, an adequate decomposition of B is considered and the min-max problem is addressed. As a by-product the Moore-Penrose inverse of B is characterized as the only solution of a variational problem. Other generalized inverses are described in a …
Every bounded linear operator on a Hilbert space which is invertible modulo compact operators has a closed range and is, thus, generalized invertible. We consider the analogue question in general $C^*$-algebras and describe the closed ideals (called Moore-Penrose ideals in what follows) with the property that whenever an element is invertible modulo that ideal, then it is generalized invertible. In particular, we will see that the class of Moore-Penrose ideals coincides with the class of the dual ideals. Finally, we study some questions related with the projection lifting property of Moore-Pen…
In the present paper we investigate Moore-Penrose inverse and characteristic matrix of unbounded WCT operators on the Hilbert space $L^2(μ)$. Also, we obtain some applications of the Moore-Penrose inverse of unbounded operators on the Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$ to variational regularization problem. Moreover, some examples are provided to illustrate the applications of our results in linear equations and specially Fredholm integral equations.
Let $t$ be a regular operator between Hilbert $C^*$-modules and $t^†$ be its Moore-Penrose inverse. We investigate the Moore-Penrose invertibility of the Gram operator $t^*t$. More precisely, we study some conditions ensuring that $t^† = (t^* t)^† t^*= t^* (t t^*)^†$ and $(t^*t)^†=t^†t^{* †}$ hold. As an application, we get some results for densely defined closed operators on Hilbert $C^*$-modules over $C^*$-algebras of compact operators.
In this paper, we establish a link between the Hyers-Ulam stability and the Moore--Penrose inverse, that is, a closed operator has the Hyers-Ulam stability if and only if it has a bounded Moore-Penrose inverse. Meanwhile, the stability constant can be determined in terms of the Moore-Penrose inverse. Based on this result, some conditions for the perturbed operators having the Hyers--Ulam stability are obtained and the Hyers-Ulam stability constant is expressed explicitly in the case of closed operators. In the case of the bounded linear operators we obtain some characterizations for the Hyers-…
We introduce a method and an algorithm for computing the weighted Moore-Penrose inverse of multiple-variable polynomial matrix and the related algorithm which is appropriated for sparse polynomial matrices. These methods and algorithms are generalizations of algorithms developed in [M.B. Tasic, P.S. Comput. 189 (2007) 615-640] to multiple-variable rational and polynomial matrices and improvements of these algorithms on sparse matrices. Also, these methods are generalizatio…
We propose a method and algorithm for computing the weighted Moore-Penrose inverse of one-variable rational matrices. Continuing this idea, we develop an algorithm for computing the weighted Moore-Penrose inverse of one-variable polynomial matrix. These methods and algorithms are generalizations of the method for computing the weighted Moore-Penrose inverse for constant matrices, originated in Wang and Chen [G.R. Wang, Y.L. Chen, A recursive algorithm for computing the weighted Moore-Penrose inverse AMN, J. Comput. Math. 4 (1986) 74-85], and the partitioning method for computing the Moore-Penr…
We establish some relationships between an m-accretive operator and its Moore-Penorse inverse. We derive some perturbation result of the Moore-Penorse inverse of a maximal accretive operator. As an application we give a factorization theorem for a quadratic pencil of accretive operators. Also, we study a result of existence, uniqueness, and maximal regularity of the strict solution for complete abstract second order differential equation. Illustrative examples are also given.
We present more than 50 results including some range inclusion results to characterize reverse order law for Moore-Penrose inverse of closed range Hilbert space operators. We use basic properties of Moore-Penrose inverse to prove the results. Some examples are also provided to illustrate failure cases to hold the reverse order law in infinite dimensional settings.
Using a factorization theorem of Douglas, we prove functional characterizations of trace spaces $H^s(\partial Ω)$ involving a family of positive self-adjoint operators. Our method is based on the use of a suitable operator by taking the trace on the boundary $\partial Ω$ of a bounded Lipschitz domain $Ω\subset \mathbb R^d$ and applying Moore--Penrose pseudo-inverse properties together with a special inner product on $H^1(Ω)$. Moreover, generalized results of the Moore--Penrose pseudo-inverse are also established.
A generalization with singular weights of Moore-Penrose generalized inverses of closed range operators in Hilbert spaces is studied using the notion of compatibility of subspaces and positive operators.
An algorithm for computing {2, 3}, {2, 4}, {1, 2, 3}, {1, 2, 4} -inverses and the Moore-Penrose inverse of a given rational matrix A is established. Classes A(2, 3)s and A(2, 4)s are characterized in terms of matrix products (R*A)+R* and T*(AT*)+, where R and T are rational matrices with appropriate dimensions and corresponding rank. The proposed algorithm is based on these general representations and the Cholesky factorization of symmetric positive matrices. The algorithm is implemented in programming languages MATHEMATICA and DELPHI, and illustrated via examples. Numerical results of the alg…

In this paper, necessary and sufficient conditions are given for the existence of Moore-Penrose inverse of a product of two matrices in an indefinite inner product space (IIPS) in which reverse order law holds good. Rank equivalence formulas with respect to IIPS are provided and an open problem is given at the end.
Several characterizations of EP and normal Moore-Penrose invertible Banach algebra elements will be considered. The Banach space operator case will be also studied. The results of the present article will extend well known facts obtained in the frames of matrices and Hilbert space operators.
Define $ A $ a unbounded self-adjoint operator on Hilbert space $ X $. Let $ \{ A_n \} $ be its resolvent approximation sequence with closed range $ \mathcal{R}(A_n) (n \in \mathrm{N}) $, that is, $ A_n (n \in \mathrm{N}) $ are all self-adjoint on Hilbert space $ X $ and \begin{equation*} \hbox{ \raise-2mm\hbox{$\textstyle s-\lim \atop \scriptstyle {n \to \infty}$}} R_λ(A_n) = R_λ(A)\quad (λ\in \mathrm{C} \setminus \mathrm{R}), \ \textrm{where} \ R_ λ(A) := (λI-A)^{-1}. \end{equation*} The Moore-Penrose inverse $ A^\dagger_n \in \mathcal{B}(X) $ is a natural approximation to the Moore-Penrose …
Let $n$ be any natural number. The $n$-centered operator is introduced for adjointable operators on Hilbert $C^*$-modules. Based on the characterizations of the polar decomposition for the product of two adjointable operators, $n$-centered operators, centered operators as well as binormal operators are clarified, and some results known for the Hilbert space operators are improved. It is proved that for an adjointable operator $T$, if $T$ is Moore-Penrose invertible and is $n$-centered, then its Moore-Penrose inverse is also $n$-centered. A Hilbert space operator $T$ is constructed such that $T…
A common optimization problem is the minimization of a symmetric positive definite quadratic form $< x,Tx >$ under linear constrains. The solution to this problem may be given using the Moore-Penrose inverse matrix. In this work we extend this result to infinite dimensional complex Hilbert spaces, making use of the generalized inverse of an operator. A generalization is given for positive diagonizable and arbitrary positive operators, not necessarily invertible, considering as constraint a singular operator. In particular, when $T$ is positive semidefinite, the minimization is considered for a…
In this paper we study frame-like properties of a wave packet system by using hyponormal operators on $L^2(\mathbb{R})$. We present necessary and sufficient conditions in terms of relative hyponormality of operators for a system to be a wave packet frame in $L^2(\mathbb{R})$. A characterization of hyponormal operators by using tight wave packet frames is proved. This is different from a method proved by Djordjevi$\acute{c}$ by using the Moore-Penrose inverse of a bounded linear operator with a closed range. The linear combinations of wave packet frames generated by hyponormal operators are dis…
Utilizing the stability characterizations of generalized inverses of linear operator, we investigate the existence of generalized resolvents of linear pencils in Banach spaces. Some practical criterions for the existence of generalized resolvents of the linear pencil $λ\rightarrow T-λS$ are provided and an explicit expression of the generalized resolvent is given. As applications, the characterization for the Moore-Penrose inverse of the linear pencil to be its generalized resolvent and the existence of the generalized resolvents of linear pencils of finite rank operators, Fredholm operators a…
