Autonomous driving relies on robust models trained on large-scale, high-quality multi-view driving videos. Although world models provide a cost-effective solution for generating realistic driving data, they often suffer from identity drift, where the same object changes its appearance or category across frames due to the absence of instance-level temporal constraints. We introduce ConsisDrive, an identity-preserving driving world model designed to enforce temporal consistency at the instance level. Our framework incorporates two key components: (1) Instance-Masked Attention, which applies instance identity masks and trajectory masks within attention blocks to ensure that visual tokens interact only with their corresponding instance features across spatial and temporal dimensions, thereby preserving object identity consistency; and (2) Instance-Masked Loss, which adaptively emphasizes foreground regions with probabilistic instance masking, reducing background noise while maintaining overall scene fidelity. By integrating these mechanisms, ConsisDrive achieves state-of-the-art driving video generation quality and demonstrates significant improvements in downstream autonomous driving tasks on the nuScenes dataset. While deep face recognition (FR) systems have shown amazing performance in identification and verification, they also arouse privacy concerns for their excessive surveillance on users, especially for public face images widely spread on social networks. Recently, some studies adopt adversarial examples to protect photos from being identified by unauthorized face recognition systems. However, existing methods of generating adversarial face images suffer from many limitations, such as awkward visual, white-box setting, weak transferability, making them difficult to be applied to protect face priv…

Face identity masking algorithms developed in recent years aim to protect the privacy of people in video recordings. These algorithms are designed to interfere with identification, while preserving information about facial actions. An important challenge is to preserve subtle actions in the eye region, while obscuring the salient identity cues from the eyes. We evaluated the effectiveness of identity-masking algorithms based on Canny filters, applied with and without eye enhancement, for interfering with identification and preserving facial actions. In Experiments 1 and 2, we tested human part…

We propose a multi-scale GAN model to hallucinate realistic context (forehead, hair, neck, clothes) and background pixels automatically from a single input face mask. Instead of swapping a face on to an existing picture, our model directly generates realistic context and background pixels based on the features of the provided face mask. Unlike face inpainting algorithms, it can generate realistic hallucinations even for a large number of missing pixels. Our model is composed of a cascaded network of GAN blocks, each tasked with hallucination of missing pixels at a particular resolution while g…

We present a novel variational generative adversarial network (VGAN) based on Wasserstein loss to learn a latent representation from a face image that is invariant to identity but preserves head-pose information. This facilitates synthesis of a realistic face image with the same head pose as a given input image, but with a different identity. One application of this network is in privacy-sensitive scenarios; after identity replacement in an image, utility, such as head pose, can still be recovered. Extensive experimental validation on synthetic and real human-face image datasets performed unde…

The use of social media websites and applications has become very popular and people share their photos on these networks. Automatic recognition and tagging of people's photos on these networks has raised privacy preservation issues and users seek methods for hiding their identities from these algorithms. Generative adversarial networks (GANs) are shown to be very powerful in generating face images in high diversity and also in editing face images. In this paper, we propose a Generative Mask-guided Face Image Manipulation (GMFIM) model based on GANs to apply imperceptible editing to the input …

We present a novel approach for image-animation of a source image by a driving video, both depicting the same type of object. We do not assume the existence of pose models and our method is able to animate arbitrary objects without the knowledge of the object's structure. Furthermore, both, the driving video and the source image are only seen during test-time. Our method is based on a shared mask generator, which separates the foreground object from its background, and captures the object's general pose and shape. To control the source of the identity of the output frame, we employ perturbatio…

Face de-identification algorithms have been developed in response to the prevalent use of public video recordings and surveillance cameras. Here, we evaluated the success of identity masking in the context of monitoring drivers as they actively operate a motor vehicle. We studied the effectiveness of eight de-identification algorithms using human perceivers and a state-of-the-art deep convolutional neural network (CNN). We used a standard face recognition experiment in which human subjects studied high-resolution (studio-style) images to learn driver identities. Subjects were tested subsequent…

Face recognition has become essential in our daily lives as a convenient and contactless method of accurate identity verification. Process such as identity verification at automatic border control gates or the secure login to electronic devices are increasingly dependant on such technologies. The recent COVID-19 pandemic have increased the value of hygienic and contactless identity verification. However, the pandemic led to the wide use of face masks, essential to keep the pandemic under control. The effect of wearing a mask on face recognition in a collaborative environment is currently sensi…

This paper proposes an end-to-end deep hashing framework with category mask for fast video retrieval. We train our network in a supervised way by fully exploiting inter-class diversity and intra-class identity. Classification loss is optimized to maximize inter-class diversity, while intra-pair is introduced to learn representative intra-class identity. We investigate the binary bits distribution related to categories and find out that the effectiveness of binary bits is highly correlated with data categories, and some bits may degrade classification performance of some categories. We then des…

Multi-person motion capture can be challenging due to ambiguities caused by severe occlusion, fast body movement, and complex interactions. Existing frameworks build on 2D pose estimations and triangulate to 3D coordinates via reasoning the appearance, trajectory, and geometric consistencies among multi-camera observations. However, 2D joint detection is usually incomplete and with wrong identity assignments due to limited observation angle, which leads to noisy 3D triangulation results. To overcome this issue, we propose to explore the short-range autoregressive characteristics of skeletal mo…
As billions of personal data being shared through social media and network, the data privacy and security have drawn an increasing attention. Several attempts have been made to alleviate the leakage of identity information from face photos, with the aid of, e.g., image obfuscation techniques. However, most of the present results are either perceptually unsatisfactory or ineffective against face recognition systems. Our goal in this paper is to develop a technique that can encrypt the personal photos such that they can protect users from unauthorized face recognition systems but remain visually…
