英文摘要:
We consider the Cauchy problem of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with the modulated dispersion and power type nonlinearities in any spatial dimensions. We adapt the Young integral theory developed by Chouk-Gubinelli [K. Chouk and M, Gubinelli, Comm. Partial Differential Equations 40 (2015)] and multilinear estimates which are based on divisor counting, and show the local well-posedness. Our result generalizes the result by Chouk-Gubinelli.
We start a study of various nonlinear PDEs under the effect of a modulation in time of the dispersive term. In particular in this paper we consider the modulated non-linear Schrödinger equation (NLS) in dimension 1 and 2 and the derivative NLS in dimension 1. We introduce a deterministic notion of "irregularity" for the modulation and obtain local and global results similar to those valid without modulation. In some situations, we show how the irregularity of the modulation improves the well--posedness theory of the equations. We develop two different approaches to the analysis of the effects …
The nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation can be derived as a formal approximation equation describing the envelopes of slowly modulated spatially and temporarily oscillating wave packet-like solutions to the ion Euler-Poisson equation. In this paper, we rigorously justify such approximation by giving error estimates in Sobolev norms between exact solutions of the ion Euler-Poisson system and the formal approximation obtained via the NLS equation. The justification consists of several difficulties such as the resonances and loss of regularity, due to the quasilinearity of the problem. These dif…
We consider the inhomogeneous biharmonic nonlinear Schrödinger equation $$ i u_t +Δ^2 u+λ|x|^{-b}|u|^αu = 0, $$ where $λ=\pm 1$ and $α$, $b>0$. In the subctritical case, we improve the global well-posedness result obtained in \cite{GUZPAS} for dimensions $N=5,6,7$ in the Sobolev space $H^2(\mathbb{R}^N)$. The fundamental tools to establish our results are the standard Strichartz estimates related to the linear problem and the Hardy-Littlewood inequality. Results concerning the energy-critical case, that is, $α=\frac{8-2b}{N-4}$ are also reported. More precisely, we show well-posedness and a st…
We study the interaction of (slowly modulated) high frequency waves for multi-dimensional nonlinear Schrodinger equations with gauge invariant power-law nonlinearities and non-local perturbations. The model includes the Davey--Stewartson system in its elliptic-elliptic and hyperbolic-elliptic variant. Our analysis reveals a new localization phenomenon for non-local perturbations in the high frequency regime and allows us to infer strong instability results on the Cauchy problem in negative order Sobolev spaces, where we prove norm inflation with infinite loss of regularity by a constructive ap…
We study the focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation in the $L^2$-supercritical regime with finite energy and finite variance initial data. We investigate solutions above the energy (or mass-energy) threshold. In our first result, we extend the known scattering versus blow-up dichotomy above that threshold for finite variance solutions in the energy-subcritical and energy-critical regimes, obtaining scattering and blow-up criteria for solutions with arbitrarily large mass and energy. As a consequence, we characterize the behavior of the ground state initial data modulated by a quadratic phase.…
In this work, by recent work of Lerner and Ombrasi (J. Geom. Anal. 30(1): 1011-1027, 2020), we show a maximally modulated singular integral operator which its kernel satisfying $L^r$- Hörmander condition can be dominated by sparse operators. Also, the local exponential decay estimates for these operators are obtained.
We study growth of higher Sobolev norms of solutions to the one-dimensional periodic nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLS). By a combination of the normal form reduction and the upside-down I-method, we establish \|u(t)\|_{H^s} \lesssim (1+|t|)^{α(s-1)+} with α= 1 for a general power nonlinearity. In the quintic case, we obtain the above estimate with α= 1/2 via the space-time estimate due to Bourgain [4], [5]. In the cubic case, we concretely compute the terms arising in the first few steps of the normal form reduction and prove the above estimate with α= 4/9. These results improve the previou…
We show, by the means of several examples, how we can use Gibbs measures to construct global solutions to dispersive equations at low regularity. The construction relies on the Prokhorov compactness theorem combined with the Skorokhod convergence theorem. To begin with, we consider the non linear Schrödinger equation (NLS) on the tri-dimensional sphere. Then we focus on the Benjamin-Ono equation and on the derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation on the circle. Next, we construct a Gibbs measure and global solutions to the so-called periodic half-wave equation. Finally, we consider the cubic …
We consider a nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation with a quasilinear quadratic term. The Nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation can be derived as a formal approximation equation describing the evolution of the envelopes of slowly modulated spatially and temporarily oscillating wave packet-like solutions to the quasilinear Klein-Gordon equation. It is the purpose of this paper to present a method which allows one to prove error estimates in Sobolev norms between exact solutions of the quasilinear Klein-Gordon equation and the formal approximation obtained via the NLS equation. The paper contains the …

In this paper, we first introduce a new function space $MH^{θ, p}$ whose norm is given by the $\ell^p$-sum of modulated $H^θ$-norms of a given function. In particular, when $θ< -\frac 12$, we show that the space $MH^{θ, p}$ agrees with the modulation space $M^{2, p}(\mathbb R)$ on the real line and the Fourier-Lebesgue space $\mathcal F L^{p}(\mathbb T)$ on the circle. We use this equivalence of the norms and the Galilean symmetry to adapt the conserved quantities constructed by Killip-Vişan-Zhang to the modulation space setting. By applying the scaling symmetry, we then prove global well-pose…
The defocusing nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation is studied for a family of step-like initial data with piecewise constant amplitude and phase velocity with a single jump discontinuity at the origin. Riemann-Hilbert and steepest descent techniques are used to study the long time/zero-dispersion limit of the solution to NLS associated to this family of initial data. We show that the initial discontinuity is regularized in the long time/zero-dispersion limit by the emergence of five distinct regions in the $(x, t)$ half-plane. These are left, right, and central plane waves separated by a rare…
We consider the Cauchy problem for the inhomogeneous biharmonic nonlinear Schrödinger (IBNLS) equation \[iu_{t} +Δ^{2} u=λ|x|^{-b}|u|^σu,\;u(0)=u_{0} \in H^{s} (\mathbb R^{d}),\] where $λ\in \mathbb R$, $d\in \mathbb N$, $0\le s<\min\left\{2+\frac{d}{2},d\right\}$, $0<b<\min \left\{4,\; d-s,\; 2+\frac{d}{2}-s \right\}$ and $0<σ\le σ_{c}(s)$ with $σ<\infty$. Here $σ_{c}(s)=\frac{8-2b}{d-2s}$ if $s<\frac{d}{2}$, and $σ_{c}(s)=\infty$ if $s\ge \frac{d}{2}$. First, we give some remarks on Sobolev-Lorentz spaces and extend the chain rule under Lorentz norms for the fractional Laplacian $(-Δ)^{s/2}$…
The long-time asymptotic behavior of the focusing nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation on the line with symmetric nonzero boundary conditions at infinity is characterized by using the recently developed inverse scattering transform (IST) for such problems and by employing the nonlinear steepest descent method of Deift and Zhou for oscillatory Riemann-Hilbert problems. First, the IST is formulated over a single sheet of the complex plane without introducing a uniformization variable. The solution of the focusing NLS equation with nonzero boundary conditions is thus associated with a suitable ma…
We consider the mass critical NLS on $\mathbb{T}$ and $\mathbb{T}^2$. In the $\mathbb{R}^d$ case the Strichartz estimates enable us to show well-posedness of the IVP in $L^2$ (at least for small data) via the Picard iteration method. However, counterexamples to the $L^6$ Strichartz on $\mathbb{T}$ and the $L^4$ Strichartz on $\mathbb{T}^2$ were given by Bourgain (1993) and Takaoka-Tzvetkov (2001), respectively, which means that the Strichartz spaces are not suitable for iteration in these problems. In this note, we show a slightly stronger result, namely, that the IVP on $\mathbb{T}$ and $\mat…
We study the ground states for the Schrödinger equation with a focusing nonlinearity and a point interaction in dimension three. We establish that ground states exist for every value of the mass; moreover they are positive, radially symmetric, decreasing along the radial direction, and show a Coulombian singularity at the location of the point interaction. Remarkably, the existence of the ground states is independent of the attractive or repulsive character of the point interaction.
We will discuss an extension of the pseudospectral method developed by Wineberg, McGrath, Gabl, and Scott for the numerical integration of the KdV initial value problem. Our generalization of their algorithm can be used to solve initial value problems for a wide class of evolution equations that are "weakly nonlinear" in a sense that we will make precise. This class includes in particular the other classical soliton equations (SGE and NLS). As well as being very simple to implement, this method exhibits remarkable speed and stability, making it ideal for use with visualization tools where it m…
The long-time asymptotic behavior of solutions to the focusing nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation on the line with symmetric, nonzero boundary conditions at infinity is studied in the case of initial conditions that allow for the presence of discrete spectrum. The results of the analysis provide the first rigorous characterization of the nonlinear interactions between solitons and the coherent oscillating structures produced by localized perturbations in a modulationally unstable medium. The study makes crucial use of the inverse scattering transform for the focusing NLS equation with nonzer…
