The optical properties of Euler-Heisenberg (EH) black hole (BH) surrounded by Cold Dark Matter (CDM) halo are investigated. By changing BH's parameters, we found that the radius of horizon r_{h} and radius of photon sphere r_{ph} will transparently increase as CDM halo parameters R and ρincrease. To show the influence of CDM halo on the BH's optical characteristics, we took two sets of R and ρwith prominent differences and plot the first four orders of images for thin accretion disk with different angle of inclination θof observer. The images with light intensity distributions using Novikov-Thorne (N-T) model are also derived, as well as the effective potential, photon orbits. Especially, analysis of intersection behaviors between photon trajectories with different impact parameters and circular time-like orbits in accretion disk will help better understand the image of thin accretion disk. Our results showed that CDM halo will make BH become more larger and dimmer distinctly.
We find non-commutative inspired electrically and magnetically charged black hole solutions in Euler-Heisenberg non-linear electrodynamics. For these solutions, we determine the non-commutative corrections to the horizon radius for the general and extremal case. We also analyse the weak, dominant and strong energy conditions and the shadow associated with these metrics.
In this contribution we study the birefringence and the quasinormal modes (QNM) in the eikonal approximation, of the Einstein-Euler-Heisenberg black hole (EEH-BH) . The EEH-BH is an exact solution of the Einstein equations coupled to the Euler-Heisenberg nonlinear electrodynamics. It is well known that in the presence of strong electromagnetic fields light rays modify their trajectories and do follow the null geodesics of an effective metric as a result of the nonlinear interaction between light and the intense magnetic or electric background. In the Euler-Heisenberg theory the phenomenon of b…
We generalize the solution to the Euler-Heisenberg (EH) theory coupled to gravity that represents a nonlinearly charged static black hole (BH) introducing the cosmological constant; the obtained solution is characterized by four parameters: mass $M$, electric charge $Q$, cosmological constant $Λ$ (positive or negative) and the Euler-Heisenberg theory parameter $a$. Then we briefly analyze some BH features like horizons, electromagnetic field and geodesics. We mainly focus on its thermodynamic properties in the extended space where the anti-de Sitter parameter is interpreted as the pressure; we…
We study static, spherically symmetric black holes supported by Euler-Heisenberg theory of electrodynamics and coupled to two different modified theories of gravity. Such theories are the quadratic $f(R)$ model and Eddington-inspired Born-Infeld gravity, both formulated in metric-affine spaces, where metric and affine connection are independent fields. We find exact solutions of the corresponding field equations in both cases, characterized by mass, charge, the Euler-Heisenberg coupling parameter and the modified gravity one. For each such family of solutions, we characterize its horizon struc…
Using a noncommutative inspired Einstein-Euler-Heisenberg black hole, we analyse the associated graviton and light rings that together with the event horizon, provide the necessary components to build its shadow. An analysis of the angular radius of the noncommutative inspired Einstein-Euler-Heisenberg black hole shows that for observers located in its vicinity, it becomes smaller when compared with the commutative case; this effect is more noticeable as noncommutativity increases. The existence of marginally stable bound orbits and the critical angle for the escaping of photons of a noncommut…
The no-scalar-hair conjecture rules out the existence of asymptotically flat black holes with a scalar dressing for a large class of theories. No-scalar-hair theorems have been proved for the cases of neutral black holes and for charged black holes in the Maxwell electrodynamics. These theorems, however, do not apply in the case of non-linear electrodynamics. In the present work numerical solutions describing charged black holes coupled to Euler-Heisenberg type non-linear electrodynamics in scalar-tensor theories of gravity with massless scalar field are found. In comparison to the correspondi…
We study the Einstein-Euler-Heisenberg theory in the presence of a self interacting scalar field, minimally coupled to gravity. We solve analytically the field equations for the magnetically charged case and we obtain novel magnetically charged hairy black holes. The scalar field dresses the black hole with a secondary scalar hair. The hairy black hole develops three horizons when Euler-Heisenberg parameter and the magnetic charge are small and the horizon radius is getting large when the scalar charge and the gravitational mass are large. The presence of matter and the magnetic field outside …
We use the worldline formalism for calculating the one-loop effective action for the Einstein-Maxwell background induced by charged scalars or spinors, in the limit of low energy and weak gravitational field but treating the electromagnetic field nonperturbatively. The effective action is obtained in a form which generalizes the standard proper-time representation of the Euler-Heisenberg Lagrangian. We compare with previous work and discuss possible applications.
We construct static and spherically symmetric black hole solutions in the Einstein-Euler-Heisenberg (EEH) system which is considered as an effective action of a superstring theory. We considered electrically charged, magnetically charged and dyon solutions. We can solve analytically for the magnetically charged case. We find that they have some remarkable properties about causality and black hole thermodynamics depending on the coupling constant of the EH theory $a$ and $b$, though they have central singularity as in the Schwarzschild black hole.
We construct several new classes of black hole (BH) solutions in the context of the mimetic Euler-Heisenberg theory. We separately derive three differently charged BH solutions and their relevant mimetic forms. We show that the asymptotic form of all BH solutions behaves like a flat spacetime. These BHs, either with/without cosmological constant, have the non constant Ricci scalar, due to the contribution of the Euler-Heisenberg parameter, which means that they are not solution to standard or mimetic $f(R)$ gravitational theory without the Euler-Heisenberg non-linear electrodynamics and at the…

We show that photons may be redshifted or blueshifted when interacting with the field of an overcritical dipole, which incorporates the one-loop QED corrections coming from vacuum polarization. Using the effective metric, it follows that such effect depends on the polarization of the photon. The shifts, plotted against the azimuthal angle for various values of the magnetic field, may show an intensity comparable to the gravitational redshift for a magnetar. To obtain these results, we have corrected previous literature.

Two-phase transition branches of the Euler-Heisenberg (EH) anti-de Sitter (AdS) black hole (BH) were derived from its phase transition critical behavior by Magos et al. [Phys. Rev. D. 102, 084011 (2020)]. We found that the phase transition is unstable. Considering the high-order quantum electrodynamics (QED) correction, we re-derive the EHAdS BH solution and investigate its critical thermodynamic quantities. It is found that the corrected EHAdS BH has only one stable phase transition branch, and its critical exponents are equivalent to that of the vdW system. From the microscopic point of view…
We discuss quantum electrodynamics emerging in the vacua with anisotropic scaling. Systems with anisotropic scaling were suggested by Horava in relation to the quantum theory of gravity. In such vacua the space and time are not equivalent, and moreover they obey different scaling laws, called the anisotropic scaling. Such anisotropic scaling takes place for fermions in bilayer graphene, where if one neglects the trigonal warping effects the massless Dirac fermions have quadratic dispersion. This results in the anisotropic quantum electrodynamics, in which electric and magnetic fields obey diff…
Taking the quantum electrodynamics (QED) effect into account, we study the black hole phase transition and Ruppeiner geometry for the Euler-Heisenberg anti-de Sitter black hole in the extended phase space. For negative and small positive QED parameter, we observe a small/large black hole phase transition and reentrant phase transition, respectively. While a large positive value of the QED parameter ruins the phase transition. The phase diagrams for each case are explicitly exhibited. Then we construct the Ruppeiner geometry in the thermodynamic parameter space. Different features of the corres…

We derive the Euler-Heisenberg solutions that describe electromagnetic waves propagating through very intense uniform magnetic or electric background, with the effective metric approach. We first explore the case of a magnetic background: as a result of the interaction between the wave and the background there is birefringence and a longitudinal electric field component arises. The two phase velocities depend on the intensity of the external magnetic field and on the polarization of the wave; phase velocities can be slowed down up to the order of hundred thousandths for fields $B/B_{\rm cr} <<…
