We investigate chiral phase transitions and the screening masses, pole masses, and thermal widths of neutral pion meson with finite temperature $T$ and magnetic field $B$ in a lattice-improved AdS/QCD model, which is constructed by fitting the lattice results of the pseudo-critical temperatures ( T_{\text{pc}}(B) ). Specifically, we have that the chiral condensate (σ) undergoes a crossover phase transition demonstrating distinct magnetic catalysis and inverse magnetic catalysis effects in very low and high-temperature regions with fixed finite $B$, respectively. For the screening masses, we find that the longitudinal component decreases with $B$ at very low and high temperatures and increases with $B$ near $T_{\text{pc}}$. The transverse component always increases with $B$ at fixed $T$. However, both the longitudinal and transverse screening masses increase with $T$ at fixed $B$. Furthermore, we find that the pole mass decreases with the increasing of $B$ or $T$. Besides, it is interesting to note that the thermal width shows similar behavior to the longitudinal screening masses in the very high temperature region.
The magnetized pure pion gradient ($\mathcal{5}ϕ$) phase in the deconfined Sakai-Sugimoto model is explored at zero and finite temperature. We found that the temperature has very small effects on the phase. The thermodynamical properties of the phase shows that the excitations behave like a scalar solitonic free particles. By comparing the free energy of the pion gradient phase to the competing multiquark-pion gradient (MQ-$\mathcal{5}ϕ$) phase, it becomes apparent that the pure pion gradient is less thermodynamically preferred than the MQ-$\mathcal{5}ϕ$ phase. However, in the parameter space …
The two flavour AdS/QCD, with chiral and gluon condensates, sets in the description of the pion family and its mass spectra. Using gravity-dilaton-gluon backgrounds, entropic Regge-like trajectories for the pion family are then derived. They relate the $π$ mesons underlying configurational entropy to both the pions excitation wave mode number and the pions experimental mass spectra, yielding a reliable prediction for the mass spectra of higher excitation pion modes, to be experimentally detected.
The directional weak decay constants of neutral pions are determined at finite temperature T, chemical potential μand in the presence of a constant magnetic field B. To do this, we first derive the energy dispersion relation of neutral pions from the corresponding effective action of a two-flavor, hot and magnetized Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model. Using this dispersion relation, including nontrivial directional refraction indices, we then generalize the PCAC relation of neutral pions and derive the Goldberger-Treiman (GT) as well as the Gell--Mann-Oakes-Renner (GOR) relations consisting of directio…
Finite isospin chemical potential $μ_I$ and temperature $T$ have been introduced in the framework of soft-wall AdS/QCD model. By self-consistently solve the equation of motion, we obtain the phase boundary of pion condensation phase, across which the system undergoes a phase transition between pion condensation phase and normal phase. Comparing the free energy of solutions with and without pion condensation, we find that the phase transition is of first order type both at large $μ_I$ and small $μ_I$. Qualitatively, the behavior at large $μ_I$ is in agreement with the lattice simulation in Phys…
We propose an extension of the hard-wall AdS/QCD model by including the Chern-Simons term required to reproduce the chiral anomaly of QCD. In the framework of this holographic model, we study the vertex function F_{πγ^* γ^*}(Q_1^2,Q_2^2) which accumulates information about the coupling of the pion to two (in general virtual) photons. We calculate the slope of the form factor with one real and one slightly virtual photon and show that it is close to experimental findings. We analyze the formal limit of large virtualities and establish that predictions of the holographic model analytically (incl…
The AdS/CFT correspondence between string theory in AdS space and conformal field theories in physical space-time leads to an analytic, semi-classical model for strongly-coupled QCD which has scale invariance and dimensional counting at short distances and color confinement at large distances. The AdS/CFT correspondence also provides insights into the inherently non-perturbative aspects of QCD such as the orbital and radial spectra of hadrons and the form of hadronic wavefunctions. In particular, we show that there is an exact correspondence between the fifth-dimensional coordinate of anti-de …
We construct a generalization of the AdS charged rotating black holes with two equal magnitude angular momenta in five-dimensional minimal gauged supergravity. In addition to the mass, electric charge and angular momentum, the new solutions possess an extra-parameter associated with a non-zero magnitude of the magnetic potential at infinity. In contrast with the known cases, these new black holes possess a non-trivial zero-horizon size limit which describes a one parameter family of spinning charged solitons. All configurations reported in this work approach asymptotically an AdS$_5$ spacetime…
We consider a bottom-up AdS/QCD model with a conformal exponential deformation $e^{k\,z^2}$ on a Lorentz invariant AdS background. In this model, we assume the conformal dimension associated with the operator that creates pions at the boundary as $Δ=3$. Regarding the infrared scale related to photon field $k_γ$, we analyze two cases: constant and depending on the transferred momentum $q$. In these two cases, we computed the electromagnetic pion form factor as well as the pion radius. We compare our results with experimental data as well as other theoretical (holographic and non-holographic) mo…
We study the phase transition between pion condensed phase and normal phase, as well as chiral phase transition in a two flavor($\mathcal{N}_f=2$) IR- improved soft-wall AdS/QCD model at finite isospin chemical potential $μ_I$ and temperature $T$. By self-consistently solving the equations of motion, we obtain the phase diagram in the plane of $μ_I$ and $T$. The pion condensation appears together with a massless Nambu-Goldstone boson $m_{π_1}(T_c, μ_I^c)=0$, which is very likely to be a second-order phase transition with mean-field critical exponents in small $μ_I$ region. When $T=0$, the crit…
In this paper, we revisit a scale-invariant extension of the standard model (SM) with a strongly interacting hidden sector within AdS/QCD approach. Using the AdS/QCD, we reduce the number of input parameters to three, {\it i.e.} hidden pion decay constant, hidden pion mass and $\tanβ$ that is defined as the ratio of the vacuum expectation values (VEV) of the singlet scalar field and the SM Higgs boson. As a result, our model has sharp predictability. We perform the phenomenological analysis of the hidden pions which is one of the dark matter (DM) candidates in this model. With various theoreti…
Pseudo-Goldstone modes appear in many physical systems and display robust universal features. First, their mass $m$ obeys the so-called Gell-Mann-Oakes-Renner (GMOR) relation $f^2\,m^2=H\,\barσ$, with $f$ the Goldstone stiffness, $H$ the explicit breaking scale and $\barσ$ the spontaneous condensate. More recently, it has been shown that their damping $Ω$ is constrained to follow the relation $Ω=m^2 D_φ$, where $D_φ$ is the Goldstone diffusivity in the purely spontaneous phase. Pions are the most paradigmatic example of pseudo-Goldstone modes and they are related to chiral symmetry breaking in…
In a previous paper, we have analyzed high energy QCD from AdS-CFT and proved the saturation of the Froissart bound (a purely QCD proof of which is still lacking). In this paper we describe the calculation in more physical terms and map it to QCD language. We find a remarkable agreement with the 1952 Heisenberg description of the saturation (pre-QCD!) in terms of shockwave collisions of pion field distributions. It provides a direct map between gauge theory physics and the gravitational physics on the IR brane of the Randall-Sundrum model. Saturation occurs through black hole production on the…
We put forward a new bottom-up AdS/QCD holographic model bearing a distinct treatment of the pion fields. We argue that a standard approach to the pion description is neither transparent nor totally satisfactory. In the paper we provide a new one based on a broadened realization of some holographic principles. The reasoning and the effect of these modifications are explained in detail. The resulting model has a different set of parameters than the standard AdS/QCD case. We use them to calculate an extensive list of QCD quantities and find a rather good agreement with the experimental data.
We study wavefunctions on D$7$-branes with magnetic fluxes in the conifold. Since some supersymmetric embeddings of D-branes on the $AdS_5\times T^{1,1}$ geometry are known, we consider one of the embeddings, especially the spacetime filling D$7$-branes in which (a part of) the standard model is expected to be realized. The explicit form of induced metric on the D$7$-branes allows us to solve the Laplace and Dirac equations to evaluate matter wavefunctions in extra dimensions analytically. We find that the zero-mode wavefunctions can be localized depending on the configuration of magnetic flux…
We study gravity duals of large N non-supersymmetric gauge theories with matter in the fundamental representation by introducing a D7-brane probe into deformed AdS backgrounds. In particular, we consider a D7-brane probe in both the AdS Schwarzschild black hole solution and in the background found by Constable and Myers, which involves a non-constant dilaton and S^5 radius. Both these backgrounds exhibit confinement of fundamental matter and a discrete glueball and meson spectrum. We numerically compute the quark condensate and meson spectrum associated with these backgrounds. In the AdS-black…
We use the gauge/gravity correspondence to study the thermodynamics of a magnetized quark-gluon plasma in the presence of a scalar operator of dimension $Δ=2$. We proceed by working in a five-dimensional gauged supergravity theory, where we numerically construct an asymptotically AdS$_5$ background that describes a black D3-brane in the presence of a magnetic and a scalar fields. We study the asymptotic behavior of the background and its fields close to the AdS$_5$ region to latter perform a thermodynamic analysis of the solution that includes the renormalization of the free energy associated …
We construct a holographic model for baryons in the context of AdS/QCD and study the spin-1/2 nucleon spectra and its couplings to mesons, taking fully account of the effects from the chiral symmetry breaking. A pair of 5D spinors is introduced to represent both left and right chiralities. Our model contains two adjustable parameters, the infrared cutoff and the Yukawa coupling of bulk spinors to bulk scalars, corresponding to the order parameter of chiral symmetry. Taking the lowest-lying nucleon mass as an input, we calculate the mass spectrum of excited nucleons and the nucleon couplings to…
We employ an analytic solution of a magnetized Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton gravity system whose parameters have been determined so that its holographic dual has the most similarity to a confining QCD-like theory influenced by a background magnetic field. Analyzing the total potential of a quark-antiquark pair in an external electric field, we are able to investigate the effect of the electric field on the different phases of the background which are the thermal AdS and the black hole phases. This is helpful for better understanding the confining character and also the phase transitions of the sys…
We study the doubly virtual Compton scattering off a spinless target $γ^*P\toγ^*P'$ within the Anti-de Sitter(AdS)/QCD formalism. We find that the general structure allowed by the Lorentz invariance and gauge invariance of the Compton amplitude is not easily reproduced with the standard recipes of the AdS/QCD correspondence. In the soft-photon regime, where the semi-classical approximation is supposed to apply best, we show that the measurements of the electric and magnetic polarizabilities of a target like the charged pion in real Compton scattering, can already serve as stringent tests.
The AdS/CFT correspondence between theories in AdS space and conformal field theories in physical space-time provides an analytic, semi-classical, color-confining model for strongly-coupled QCD. The soft-wall AdS/QCD model modified by a positive-sign dilaton metric leads to a remarkable one-parameter description of nonperturbative hadron dynamics at zero quark mass, including a zero-mass pion and a Regge spectrum of linear trajectories with the same slope in orbital angular momentum $L$ and radial quantum number $n$ for both mesons and baryons. One also predicts the form of the non-perturbativ…
A soft-wall anti-de Sitter/QCD model with a modified five-dimensional metric at the infrared region is constructed to obtain a nontrivial dilaton solution, which incorporates the chiral symmetry breaking and linear confinement. By taking the pion mass and decay constant as two input mass scales, the resulting predictions for the resonance states of pseudoscalar, scalar, vector and axial-vector mesons agree remarkably with the experimentally confirmed resonance states. The effects of the quartic interaction term are investigated by taking an appropriate sign and magnitude for maintaining the st…
We show how to incorporate chiral symmetry breaking in the soft-wall version of the AdS/QCD model by using a modified dilaton profile and a quartic term in the bulk scalar potential. This allows one to separate the dependence on spontaneous and explicit chiral symmetry breaking. Moreover our 5D model automatically incorporates linear trajectories and non chiral-symmetry restoration for highly excited radial states. We compare our resulting mass spectra in the scalar, vector and axial-vector sectors with the respective QCD resonances and find reasonable agreement using the known values for the …
We study the nucleon and pion structure functions at small Bjorken-$x$ region in the framework of holographic QCD with a special emphasis on the roles of AdS space wave functions. Using the BPST kernel for the Pomeron exchange and calculating its coupling to target hadrons in the AdS space, we obtain $F_2$ structure functions at the small-$x$. Results for the proton $F^p_2$ as well as the pion $F^π_2$ are consistent with experimental data of the deep inelastic scattering and the forward electroproduction of a neutron. Observed $Q^2$ dependence of the Pomeron intercept is well reproduced from s…
The recently measured $γγ^*\rightarrow π^0$ anomalous form factor is analyzed using the $D4/D8\bar{D8}$ holographic approach to QCD. The half-on-shell transition form factor is vector meson dominated and is shown to exactly tie to the pion form factor. The holographic result compares well with the data for the lowest vector resonance.
The AdS/CFT correspondence between string theory in AdS space and conformal field theories in physical space-time leads to an analytic, semi-classical model for strongly-coupled QCD which has scale invariance and dimensional counting at short distances and color confinement at large distances. One can use holography to map the amplitude describing the hadronic state in the fifth dimension of Anti-de Sitter space to the light-front wavefunctions of hadrons in physical space-time, thus providing a relativistic description of hadrons in QCD at the amplitude level. In particular, we show that ther…
A remarkable holographic feature of dynamics in AdS space in five dimensions is that it is dual to Hamiltonian theory in physical space-time, quantized at fixed light-front time τ = t+z/c. This light-front holographic principle provides a precise relation between the bound-state amplitudes in AdS space and the boost-invariant light-front wavefunctions describing the internal structure of hadrons in physical space-time. The fifth dimension coordinate z is dual to the light front variable ζ describing the invariant separation of the quark constituents. The resulting valence Fock-state wavefuncti…
Magnetic effects on chiral phase transition have been investigated in a modified soft-wall AdS/QCD model, in which the dilaton field is taken to be negative at the ultraviolet region and positive at the infrared region as in Phys.Rev.D93(2016),101901 and JHEP1604(2016)036. The magnetic field is introduced into the background geometry by solving the Einstein-Maxwell system. After embedding the magnetized background geometry into the modified soft-wall model, the magnetic field dependent behavior of chiral condensate is worked out numerically. It is found that, in the chiral limit, the chiral ph…
We perform a study of the doubly virtual Compton scattering off a spinless target gamma* P -> gamma* P' within the Anti-de Sitter(AdS)/QCD formalism. We find that the general structure allowed by the Lorentz invariance and gauge invariance of the Compton amplitude is not easily reproduced with the standard recipes of the AdS/QCD correspondence. In the soft-photon regime, where the semi-classical approximation is supposed to apply best, we show that the measurements of the electric and magnetic polarizabilities of a target like the charged pion in real Compton scattering, can already serve as s…
The dynamics of an expanding hadron fluid at temperatures below the chiral transition is studied in the framework of AdS/CFT correspondence. We establish a correspondence between the asymptotic AdS geometry in the 4+1-dimensional bulk with the analog spacetime geometry on its 3+1 dimensional boundary with the background fluid undergoing a spherical Bjorken type expansion. The analog metric tensor on the boundary depends locally on the soft pion dispersion relation and the four-velocity of the fluid. The AdS/CFT correspondence provides a relation between the pion velocity and the critical tempe…
We study the photon-to-meson transition form factors (TFFs) F_{M γ}(Q^2) for gamma gamma^* \to M using light-front holographic methods. The Chern-Simons action, which is a natural form in 5-dimensional anti-de Sitter (AdS) space, leads directly to an expression for the photon-to-pion TFF for a class of confining models. Remarkably, the predicted pion TFF is identical to the leading order QCD result where the distribution amplitude has asymptotic form. The Chern-Simons form is local in AdS space and is thus somewhat limited in its predictability. It only retains the q \bar q component of the pi…
We study the low energy dynamics of pions in a gravity dual of chiral symmetry breaking. The string theory construction consists of a probe D7 brane in the Constable Myers non-supersymmetric background, which has been shown to describe chiral symmetry breaking in the pattern of QCD. We expand the D7 brane's Dirac Born Infeld action for fluctuations that correspond to the Goldstone mode and show that they take the form of a non-linear chiral lagrangian. We numerically compute the quark condensate, pion decay constant and higher order Gasser Leutwyler coefficients. We find their form is consiste…
We discuss applications of gauge/gravity duality to describe the spectrum of light hadrons. We compare two particular 5-dimensional approaches: a model with an infrared deformed Anti-de Sitter metric and another one based on a dynamical AdS/QCD framework with back-reacted geometry in a dilaton/gravity background. The models break softly the scale invariance in the infrared region and allow mass gap for the field excitations in the gravity description, while keeping the conformal property of the metric close to the four-dimensional boundary. The models provide linear Regge trajectories for ligh…
We discuss a minimal holographic model for the description of heavy-light and light mesons with chiral symmetry, defined in a slab of AdS space. The model consists of a pair of chiral Yang-Mills and tachyon fields with specific boundary conditions that break spontaneously chiral symmetry in the infrared. The heavy-light spectrum and decay constants are evaluated explicitly. In the heavy mass limit the model exhibits both heavy-quark and chiral symmetry and allows for the explicit derivation of the one-pion axial couplings to the heavy-light mesons.
The static properties, masses and decay constants, of pseudoscalar meson triplet in a strongly magnetized medium are studied through the Dyson-Schwinger equation approach treatment of a contact interaction. Complementary to the usual vector-vector form, a symmetry-preserving formulation of couplings has been proposed in this work, without modifying the quark propagator, to control the strength of the $p$-wave component of Bethe-Salpeter amplitude. It is found that, with the help of flexible auxiliary interaction, our simple model is able to reproduce the observation in the lattice QCD simulati…
Spectra of pions, which are known as the pseudo-Goldstone bosons of spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking, as well as their relationship with chiral phase transition and pion superfluidity phase transition, have been investigated in the framework of soft-wall AdS/QCD. In chiral limit, it is proved both numerically and analytically that pions are massless Goldstone bosons even at finite temperature, which was usually considered as an assumption in soft-wall models. Above $T_c$, at which chiral condensate $\langle \bar{q}q\rangle$ vanishes, the spectra of pions and scalar mesons merge together, s…
We study the holographic Schwinger effect with magnetic field at RHIC and LHC energies by using the AdS/CFT correspondence. We consider both weak and strong magnetic field cases with $B\ll T^2$ and $B\gg T^2$ solutions respectively. Firstly, we calculate separating length of the particle pairs at finite magnetic field. It is found that for both weak and strong magnetic field solutions the maximum value of separating length decreases with the increase of magnetic field , which can be inferred that the virtual electron-positron pairs become real particles more easily. We also find that the magne…
We study the magnetic properties of the coloured multiquark states in the quark-gluon plasma where the gluons are deconfined and the chiral symmetry is still broken, using the Sakai-Sugimoto model. There are two possible magnetized multiquark configurations. Both configurations converge to the same configuration at the critical field and temperature before they dissociate altogether either into less coloured multiquarks or into other phases for a fixed density. It is also found that the multiquarks with higher colour charges respond more to the external magnetic field in both the magnetization…
We study strange and isospin asymmetric matter in a bottom-up AdS/QCD model. We first consider isospin matter, which has served as a good testing ground for nonperturbative QCD. We calculate the isospin chemical potential dependence of hadronic observables such as the masses and the decay constants of the pseudo-scalar, vector, and axial-vector mesons. We discuss a possibility of the charged pion condensation in the matter within the bottom-up AdS/QCD model. Then, we study the properties of the hadronic observables in strange matter. We calculate the deconfinement temperature in strange and is…
The lightest meson, the pion, features two faces -- one is the elementary Goldstone boson of QCD and the other is the structured bound state of quarks and gluons. To accommodate both in a single light-front wave function in the valence space, we obtain a sum rule by analyzing the conserved axial-vector current and the general structures of the wave functions. Using an analytic model motivated by holography, we show this sum rule is consistent with requirements of chiral symmetry breaking in AdS/QCD. Within this model, we find a remarkable feature of the pion, namely that the density is mostly …
We show how a Hall viscosity induced by a magnetic field can be generated in strongly coupled theories with a holographic dual. This is achieved by considering parity-breaking higher derivative terms in the gravity dual. These terms couple the Riemann curvature tensor to the field strength of a gauge field dual to the charge current, and have an analog in the field theory side as a coupling between the "Euler current" and the electromagnetic field. As a concrete example, we study the effect of the new terms in the thermodynamic and transport properties of a strongly coupled magnetized plasma d…
We explore corrections to the "hard wall" gravity dual of QCD with two-form tensor fields. These fields correspond to a dimension three quark bilinear in QCD, which generates states with 1(--) and 1(+-) quantum numbers, or omega/rho-like and h1/b1-like mesons, respectively. We include new interaction terms, which render the model complete up to dimension six. We find that breaking chiral symmetry induces modifications to the spectrum, by mixing the vector current and the new two-tensor operator. This breaks the degeneracy of the 1(--) and 1(+-) spectra. We also compute the (b1->omega + pi) dec…
We show that in strongly coupled N=4 SYM the binding energy of a heavy and a light quark is independent of the strength of the coupling constant. As a consequence we are able to show that in the presence of light quarks the analog of the QCD string can snap and color charges are screened. The resulting neutral mesons interact with each other only via pion exchange and we estimate the masses
The soft-wall AdS/QCD model, modified by a positive-sign dilaton metric, leads to a remarkable one-parameter description of nonperturbative hadron dynamics. The model predicts a zero-mass pion for zero-mass quarks and a Regge spectrum of linear trajectories with the same slope in the leading orbital angular momentum $L$ of hadrons and the radial quantum number $N$. Light-Front Holography maps the amplitudes which are functions of the fifth dimension variable $z$ of anti-de Sitter space to a corresponding hadron theory quantized on the light front. The resulting Lorentz-invariant relativistic l…
The AdS/CFT correspondence between string theory in AdS space and conformal field theories in physical space-time leads to an analytic, semi-classical model for strongly-coupled QCD which has scale invariance and dimensional counting at short distances and color confinement at large distances. The AdS/CFT correspondence also provides insights into the inherently nonperturbative aspects of QCD such as the orbital and radial spectra of hadrons and the form of hadronic wavefunctions. In particular, we show that there is an exact correspondence between the fifth-dimensional coordinate of AdS space…
We propose a scenario for bottom-up gravity dual picture of QCD-like theories, which consists of two near-AdS$_5$ domains separated by the ``domain wall'' at which the effective coupling relatively rapidly switches from small perturbative value at its UV side to strong at its IR side. Its consequence are corresponding jumps in 5-d masses of the bulk fields, related to different anomalous dimensions of the corresponding operators. Inclusion of both weakly and strongly coupled parts of bulk wave functions allows for consistent inclusion of QCD hard processes. We further discuss how transitions f…
Using the AdS/CFT correspondence, we investigate a nucleon mass splitting and nucleon-pion coupling in the isospin medium. We find that there exists a nucleon mass splitting which is exactly given by the half of the meson mass splitting because nucleon has the half isospin charge of the charged mesons. In addition, we also investigate the nucleon-pion coupling, which requires the modification of the known Abelian-type unitary gauge fixing term because non-Abelian fluctuations should be taken into account in the isospin medium. In this paper, after constructing an appropriate unitary gauge fixi…
The holographic mapping of gravity in AdS space to QCD, quantized at fixed light-front time, provides a precise relation between the bound-state amplitudes in the fifth dimension of AdS space and the boost-invariant light-front wavefunctions describing the internal structure of hadrons in physical space-time. In particular, the elastic and transition form factors of the pion and the nucleons are well described in this framework. The light-front AdS/QCD holographic approach thus gives a frame-independent first approximation of the color-confining dynamics, spectroscopy, and excitation spectra o…
We analyze the high energy scattering of hadrons in QCD in an effective theory model inspired from a gravity dual description. The nucleons are skyrmion-like solutions of a DBI action, and boosted nucleons give pions field shockwaves necessary for the saturation of the Froissart bound. Nuclei are analogs of BIon crystals, with the DBI skyrmions forming a fluid with a fixed inter-nucleon distance. In shockwave collisions one creates scalar (pion field) ``fireballs'' with horizons of nonzero temperature, whose scaling with mass we calculated. They are analogous to the hydrodynamic ``dumb holes,'…
The eigenvalues of the light-front QCD Hamiltonian, quantized at fixed light-front time τ= t+z/c, predict the hadronic mass spectrum and the corresponding eigensolutions provide the light-front wavefunctions which describe hadron structure. More generally, we show that the valence Fock-state wavefunctions of the light-front QCD Hamiltonian satisfy a single-variable relativistic equation of motion, analogous to the nonrelativistic radial Schrödinger equation, with an effective confining potential $U$ which systematically incorporates the effects of higher quark and gluon Fock states. We outline…
One of the most important nonperturbative methods for solving QCD is quantization at fixed light-front time, τ= t+z/c -- Dirac's "Front Form". The eigenvalues of the light-front QCD Hamiltonian predict the hadron spectrum and the eigensolutions provide the light-front wavefunctions which describe hadron structure. More generally, we show that the valence Fock-state wavefunctions of the light-front QCD Hamiltonian satisfy a single-variable relativistic equation of motion, analogous to the nonrelativistic radial Schrödinger equation, with an effective confining potential U which systematically i…
We construct a holographic model of heavy-light mesons by extending the AdS/QCD to incorporate the behavior of the heavy quark limit. In that limit, the QCD dynamics is governed by the light quark and the heavy quark simply plays the role of a static color source. The heavy quark spin symmetry can be treated as a global symmetry in the AdS bulk. As a consequence, the heavy-light mesons are mapped to "fermions" in the AdS theory. The light flavor chiral symmetry is naturally built in by this construction, and its breaking produces the splitting of the parity-doubled heavy-light meson states. Th…
