With the advent of Belle II and the LHCb upgrade, the precision measurements of various B-Physics observables are on cards. This holds significant potential for delving into physics beyond the standard model of electroweak interactions. These measurements can also serve as means to establish limits on phenomena occurring at much finer length scales, such as quantum decoherence, which may arise due to potential discreteness in space-time or non-trivial topological effects. In this work, we set up the formalism to investigate the impact of quantum decoherence on several potential observables in $B$ meson systems. The approach employs the trace-preserving Kraus operator formalism, extending unitary evolution to non-unitary dynamics while maintaining complete positivity. In this formalism, the decoherence effects are parametrized in terms of a single parameter. Through the analysis of purely leptonic, semileptonic, and non-leptonic decays of $B$ mesons, we identify observables that could, in principle, be influenced by decoherence. The theoretical expressions are provided without neglecting the impact of decay width difference ($ΔΓ$) and $CP$ violation in mixing. Considering that many of these observables can be measured with high precision using the abundant data collected by LHCb and Belle II, our formalism can be applied to establish constraints on the decoherence parameter through multiple decay channels. This offers an alternative set-up for such studies, which, at present, are predominantly conducted in the neutrino sector.
A rescaling of the SU(2) isospin triangles constraining $ϕ_2$ ($α$) that relies on measurements of the experimentally cleaner relative branching fractions, as opposed to those absolute, is proposed. Paving the way towards more systematically sustainable analysis, this method promises to eliminate a dominant systematic at Belle II amongst others, namely the uncertainty on the number of $B \bar B$ pairs in data. Furthermore, a $ϕ_2$ constraint in the $B \to ρρ$ system at LHCb that is more independent of Belle II input is shown to become viable even without a measurement of $C\!P$ violation in $B…
A range of flavour physics observables show tensions with their corresponding Standard Model expectations: measurements of leptonic flavour-changing neutral current processes and ratios of semi-leptonic branching fractions involving different generations of leptons show deviations of the order of four standard deviations. If confirmed, either would be an intriguing sign of new physics. In this manuscript, we analyse the current experimental situation of such processes and for the first time estimate the combined impact of the future datasets of the Belle II and LHCb experiments on the present …
We show that existing laboratory experiments have the potential to unveil the origin of matter by probing leptogenesis in the type-I seesaw model with three right-handed neutrinos and Majorana masses in the GeV range. The baryon asymmetry is generated by CP-violating flavour oscillations during the production of the right-handed neutrinos. In contrast to the case with only two right-handed neutrinos, no degeneracy in the Majorana masses is required. The right-handed neutrinos can be found in meson decays at BELLE II and LHCb.
We present a Bayesian analysis of the implications for new physics in semileptonic $b\to s$ transitions after including new measurements of $R_K$ at LHCb and new determinations of $R_{K^*}$ and $R_{K^{*+}}$ at Belle. We perform global fits with 1, 2, 4, and 8 input Wilson coefficients, plus one CKM nuisance parameter to take into account uncertainties that are not factorizable. We infer the 68% and 95.4% credibility regions of the marginalized posterior probability density for all scenarios and perform comparisons of models in pairs by calculating the Bayes factor given a common data set. We t…
Our community has to apply {\em non}-perturbative QCD on different levels of flavor dynamics in strange, charm \& beauty hadrons and even for top quarks. We need {\em consistent} parameterization of the CKM matrix and describe weak decays of beauty hadrons with {\em many-body} final states. It is crucial to use the {\em Wilsonian} OPE as much as possible and discuss "duality" in the worlds of quarks and hadrons. The pole mass of heavy quarks is {\em not} well-defined on the {\em non}-perturbative level -- i.e., it is {\em not} Borel summable in total QCD. We need a novel team to combine the st…
We consider the lepton number violating decays $B \to μ^{\pm} μ^{\pm} π^{\mp}$ and $B \to D^{(*)} μ^{\pm} μ^{\pm} π^{\mp}$ which may be detected at LHCb and Belle-II experiments; and $B \to μ^{\pm} μ^{\pm} e^{\mp} ν$ and $B \to D^{(*)} μ^{\pm} μ^{\pm} e^{\mp} ν$ decays which may be detected at Belle-II experiment. The projected total number of produced $B$ mesons is $4.8 \times 10^{12}$ at LHCb upgrade and $5 \times 10^{10}$ at Belle-II. For the case that the above decays are not detected, we deduce the new upper bounds (sensitivity limits) for the mixing parameter $|U_{μN}|^2$ of heavy steril…
The LHC is the new b-hadron factory and will be dominating flavour physics until the start of Belle II, and beyond in many decay modes. While the $B$ factories and Tevatron experiments are still analysing their data, ATLAS, CMS and LHCb are producing interesting new results in CP violation and rare decays, that set strong constraints on models beyond that SM and exhibit some discrepancies with the SM predictions. The LHCb collaboration used the LHC 50 ns ramp-up period of July 2015 to measure the double-differential $J/ψ$, $J/ψ$-from-$b$-hadron and charm cross-sections at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV. …
With the first data being recorded at Belle II, we are at the brink of a new era in quark flavour physics. The many exciting new opportunities for Belle~II include a full angular analysis of inclusive ${\bar B \to X_{s} \, \ell^+\ell^-}$ which has the potential to reveal new physics, in particular by its interplay with the exclusive $b \to s \ell^+\ell^-$ counterparts studied extensively at LHCb. In this paper, we present fully updated Standard Model predictions for all angular observables necessary for this endeavour. These predictions are tailored to Belle II and include an elaborate study o…
Several experiments observed deviations from the Standard Model (SM) in the flavour sector: LHCb found a $4-5\,σ$ discrepancy compared to the SM in $b\to sμ^+μ^-$ transitions (recently supported by an Belle analysis) and CMS reported a non-zero measurement of $h\toμτ$ with a significance of $2.4\,σ$. Furthermore, BELLE, BABAR and LHCb founds hints for the violation of flavour universality in $B\to D^{(*)}τν$. In addition, there is the long-standing discrepancy in the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. Interestingly, all these anomalies are related to muons and taus, while the corresponding…
This article surveys the important questions attached to unitarity tests of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix, with a focus on the direct determinations of the magnitude of CKM matrix elements. The current CKM anomalies are discussed and the clear-cut prospects at LHCb and Belle II envisaged. The anticipated precision on $C\!P$-conserving and $C\!P$-violating observables at the projected upgrades of the LHCb and Belle~II experiments is examined from the point of view of the search for New Physics in $B$-meson mixing, addressing the bottlenecks in precision for the interpretation of the meas…

Two of the elements of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa quark mixing matrix, $|V_{ub}|$ and $|V_{cb}|$, are extracted from semileptonic B decays. The results of the B factories, analysed in the light of the most recent theoretical calculations, remain puzzling, because for both $|V_{ub}|$ and $|V_{cb}|$ the exclusive and inclusive determinations are in clear tension. Further, measurements in the $τ$ channels at Belle, Babar, and LHCb show discrepancies with the Standard Model predictions, pointing to a possible violation of lepton flavor universality. LHCb and Belle II have the potential to resol…
A model which describes the time-dependent CP formalism in $D^0$ decays has recently been proposed. There it has been highlighted a possible measurement of the angle $β_c$, in the charm unitarity triangle, using the decays $D^0\to K^+ K^-$ and $D^0\to π^+ π^-$, and a measurement of the mixing phase $ϕ_{MIX}$. The same method can be used to measure the value of the parameter $x$, one of the two parameters defining charm mixing. We numerically evaluate the impact of a time-dependent analysis in terms of the possible outcomes from present and future experiments. We consider the scenarios of corre…
Motivated by recent results from the LHCb, BABAR and Belle collaborations on B\to D^{(*)}\ell^-\barν_\ell decays, which significantly deviate from the Standard Model and hint the possible new physics beyond the Standard Model, we probe the R-parity violating supersymmetric effects in B^-_c\to \ell^-\barν_\ell and B\to D^{(*)}\ell^-\barν_\ell decays. We find that (i) \mathcal{B}(B^-_c\to e^- \barν_e) and \mathcal{B}(B^-_c\toμ^-\barν_μ) are sensitive to the constrained slepton exchange couplings; (ii) the normalized forward-backward asymmetries of B\to De^-\barν_{e} decays have been greatly affe…
The electroweak penguin B decays mediated by $b \to s \ell^+ \ell^- $ transitions are flavour-changing neutral current processes, and are thus sensitive to new physics owing to potential contributions of heavy particles in the quantum loop. Recently, LHCb has obtained interesting results, where the possible hints of lepton family universality violation (LFUV) could be seen. We report a new measurement of the LFUV observable $R_{K}$, the ratio of branching fractions of $B\to Kμ^{+}μ^{-}$ to $B\to Ke^{+}e^{-}$, based on the full data sample recorded by Belle at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance from $e^+e^-…
BELLE has recently reported the measurement of the branching fraction of the semileptonic $B^{-}\toπ^{+}π^{-}\ell^{-}\barν_\ell$ decay, where $\ell$ represents an electron or a muon. With the new information on the $ππ$ invariant mass spectrum, we extract $|V_{ub}|=(3.31\pm 0.61)\times 10^{-3}$ in agreement with those from the other exclusive $B$ decays. In particular, we determine the non-resonant $B\toππ$ transition form factors, and predict the non-resonant branching fraction ${\cal B}(B^{-}\toπ^{+}π^{-}\ell^{-}\barν_\ell)=(3.5\pm 1.4^{+4.3}_{-2.4})\times 10^{-5}$, which is accessible to th…
We suggest that the uncertain state $f_X(1500)$ observed by Belle and BaBar more than a decade ago, which has been viewed as a single scalar or a combination of several even spin resonances, is the vector $ρ^0(1450)$ reported recently by LHCb. Adopting the perturbative QCD approach, we determine the di-kaon distribution amplitudes with the $ρ^0(1450)$ resonance from the LHCb data for the quasi-two-body decays $B^{\pm}\to π^{\pm}ρ^0(1450)\toπ^{\pm}K^+K^-$. It is then shown that the $B^+ \to K^+K^+K^-$ decay spectrum around the invariant mass $M(K^+K^-)\sim 1.5~\rm GeV$ measured by BaBar can be …
Very recent experimental information obtained from the Belle experiment, along with that accumulated by the BABAR and LHCb experiments, has shown the existence of anomalies in the ratios $R(D)$ and $R(D^{*})$ associated with the charged-current transition $b \to c τ\barν_τ$. Although the Belle measurements are in agreement with the standard model (SM) predictions, the new experimental world averages still exhibit a tension. In addition, the $D^\ast$ longitudinal polarization $F_L(D^\ast)$ related with the channel $B \to D^\ast τ\barν_τ$ observed by the Belle Collaboration and the ratio $R(J/ψ)…
Babar, Belle and recently LHCb has reported an excess in the measurements of $R(D^{*})$, $R(D)$ and $\mathcal{B}r(B \rightarrow τν_τ )$ than expected from SM, a possible signature of lepton flavor universality violating NP. In this work we analyze the phenomenological implications for these decay modes in a Flipped/Lepton-Specific 2HDM with anomalously enhanced Yukawa coupling of $H^{\pm}$ to $τ$/b. When experimental and theoretical errors are added in quadrature, we conclude that this phenomenological extension of SM can give results in agreement within 1$σ$ deviation for the combination of $…
Over the last few years LHCb with present energies found some discrepancies in $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$ FCNC transitions including anomalies in the angular observables of $B\to K^*μ^+μ^-$, particularly in $P_5^\prime$, in low dimuon mass region. Recently, these anomalies are confirmed by Belle, CMS and ATLAS. As the direct evidence of physics beyond-the-SM is absent so far, therefore, these anomalies are being interpreted as indirect hint of new physics. In this context, we study the implication of non universal family of $Z^\prime$ model to the angular observables $P_{1,2,3}$, $P^{\prime}_{4,5,6}…
Very recently the LHCb experiment released the first measurement of the ratio $R(Λ_c) = {\rm BR}(Λ_b \to Λ_cτ\barν_τ)/{\rm BR}(Λ_b \to Λ_cμ\barν_μ)$. Moreover, the BABAR experiment reported a new result of the leptonic decay ratio of Upsilon meson $Υ(3S)$, namely, $R_{Υ(3S)} = {\rm BR}(Υ(3S) \to τ^+τ^-)/{\rm BR}(Υ(3S) \to μ^+μ^-)$. Both measurements are below their corresponding Standard Model predictions (deficit), deviating by $\sim 1.1σ$ and $\sim 1.8σ$, respectively. Moreover, the LHCb recently presented the first search of the lepton flavor violating decay $B^0 \to K^{\ast 0}μ^\pmτ^\mp$. …
Dalitz-plot analyses of $B\rightarrow Kππ$ decays provide direct access to decay amplitudes, and thereby weak and strong phases can be disentangled by resolving the interference patterns in phase space between intermediate resonant states. A phenomenological isospin analysis of $B\rightarrow K^*(\rightarrow Kπ)π$ decay amplitudes is presented exploiting available amplitude analyses performed at the Babar, Belle and LHCb experiments. A first application consists in constraining the CKM parameters thanks to an external hadronic input. A method, proposed some time ago by two different groups and …
We present, how a systematic study of $B \to D\ell N$ ($D \to K \ell N$) decays with $\ell=μ,τ$, at Belle II (BESIII) can provide unambiguous signature of a heavy neutrino $N$ and/or constrain its mixing with active neutrinos $ν_\ell$, which is parameterized by $|U_{\ell N}|^2$. Our constraint on $|U_{μN}|^2$ that can be achieved from the full Belle II data is comparable with what can be obtained from the much larger data set of the upgraded LHCb. Additionally, our method offers better constraint on $|U_{μN}|^2$ for mass of sterile neutrino $m_N < 2$ GeV. We can also probe the Dirac and Majora…
Inspired by the recent observations of the vector charmonium-like states at BES III Collaboration and $ψ(3842)$ at LHCb Collaboration, we comb the $D$ wave charmonium state in the present work. We first evaluate the possibility of $Y(4320)$ as $ψ(3^3D_1)$ by investigating its open charm decays in quark-pair creation model and we find the width of $Y(4320)$ can be reproduced in a reasonable parameter range. Moreover, we take $ψ(3770)$, $ψ(4160)$ and $Y(4320)$ as the scale of $1D$, $2D$ and $3D$ charmonia to estimate the open charm decays of other $D$ wave charmonia. The total and partial widths…
Exotic resonant structures found in $Λ^0_b$ and $\overline{B}^0$ decays into charmonium in the LHCb experiment are discussed. Examination of the $J/ψp$ system in $Λ^0_b\to J/ψK^- p$ decays shows two states each of which must be composed of $uudc\overline{c}$ quarks, and thus are called charmonium pentaquarks. Their masses are $4380\pm 8\pm 29$~MeV and $4449.8\pm 1.7\pm 2.5$~MeV, and their corresponding widths ($Γ$) are $205\pm 18\pm 86$ MeV, and $39\pm 5\pm 19$ MeV. The preferred $J^P$ assignments are of opposite parity, with one state having spin 3/2 and the other 5/2. Models of internal bind…
We examine the validity of the generalized factorization method and calculate the angular correlations in the charmful three-body baryonic decays of $\bar B^0\to Λ\bar p D^{(*)+}$. With the timelike baryonic form factors newly extracted from the measured baryonic $B$ decays, we obtain ${\cal B}(\bar B^0\to Λ\bar p D^+,Λ\bar p D^{*+})=(1.85\pm 0.30,2.75\pm 0.24)\times 10^{-5}$ to agree with the recent data from the BELLE Collaboration, which demonstrates that the theoretical approach based on the factorization still works well. For the angular distribution asymmetries, we find ${\cal A}_θ(\bar …
In 2017, LHCb collaboration reported their first observation of the rare decays $B_s \to ϕ(f_0(980)$ $/f_2(1270) \to ) π^+π^-$ and the evidence of $B^0 \to ϕ(f_0(980)/f_2(1270)\to)π^+π^-$. Motivated by this, we study these quasi-two-body decays in the perturbative QCD approach. The branching fractions, $CP$ asymmetries and the polarization fractions are calculated. We find that within the appropriate two-meson wave functions, the calculated branching fractions are in agreement with the measurements of LHCb. Based on the narrow-width approximation, We also calculate the branching fractions of t…
We consider the lepton-number-violating processes in $Λ_b$/$Λ_c$ decays mediated by on-shell GeV-scale sterile neutrino. We calculate the branching ratio for the following processes: $Λ_b^{0} \rightarrow \mathcal{B}^+ μ^{-}μ^- π^+$, where $\mathcal{B}^+$ is $Λ_c^+$ or proton, and $Λ_c^{+} \rightarrow Λμ^{+}μ^+ π^-$, as function of the mass of the sterile neutrino $m_N$ and the heavy-light mixing coefficient of the extended Pontecorvo-Maki-Nakagawa-Sakata (PMNS) matrix $|U_{μN}|^2$. The effect of finite detector size is included in our calculation. After comparing the theoretical effective bran…
LHCb, CDF and most recently Belle have observed a large difference between direct CP asymmetries in $D^0\to K^+K^-$ and $D^0\toπ^+π^-$. We use the measured value of $ΔA_{CP}$ to constrain the magnitude and strong phase of a QCD-enhanced standard model penguin and predict its effects on direct CP asymmetry in $D^0\toπ^0π^0$ and $D^+\to K^+\bar{K}^0$.
The $B$-physics experiments at LHCb, BaBar and Belle hint towards deviations from Lepton Flavor Universality in both the tree-level and loop-induced $B$ meson semileptonic decays. We propose a leptoquark model with light right-handed neutrinos which can accommodate both $R_K^\mathrm{exp}<R_K^\mathrm{SM}$ and $R_{D^{(\ast)}}^\mathrm{exp}>R_{D^{(\ast)}}^\mathrm{SM}$. We discuss several of its predictions which can be tested in modern day experiments. We also comment on the recent finding at LHCb, namely $R_{K^\ast}^{\mathrm{exp}}<R_{K^\ast}^\mathrm{SM}$.
We study the four-body baryonic $B\to {\bf B_1 \bar B_2}M_1 M_2$ decays with $\bf B_{1,2}$ ($M_{1,2}$) being charmless baryons (mesons). In accordance with the recent LHCb observations, each decay is considered to proceed through the $B\to M_1 M_2$ transition together with the production of a baryon pair. We obtain that ${\cal B}(B^-\to Λ\bar p π^+π^-)=(3.7^{+1.5}_{-1.0} )\times 10^{-6}$ and ${\cal B}(\bar B^0\to p\bar p π^+π^-,p\bar p π^+ K^-)=(3.0\pm 0.9,6.6\pm 2.4)\times 10^{-6}$, in agreement with the data. We also predict ${\cal B}(B^-\toΛ\bar p K^+ K^-)=(3.0^{+1.3}_{-0.9})\times 10^{-6}$…
I summarize results and performance of the dynamical theory of charmless hadronic B decays, based on QCD factorization in the heavy quark limit. On the theoretical side, a number of NNLO (alpha_s^2) amplitudes are now available, all showing a well-behaved perturbative expansion. The large observed branching fraction in B0 -> pi0 pi0 remains a challenge, implying either a large inverse moment of the B-meson wave function or a sizable power correction (or unexpected new physics). B-factory/Belle2 analyses of B -> gamma l nu may shed light on this. On the other hand, the new Belle and LHCb measur…
Recently Belle collaboration reported new measurements for the branching fractions with the first observing two processes of $\mathcal{B}(Ξ_c^0\toΛK^0_S)$, $\mathcal{B}(Ξ_c^0\toΣ^0 K^0_S)$ and updating data for $\mathcal{B}(Ξ_c^0\toΣ^+ K^-)$. Combined with other known data on charmless two body decays of anti-triplet charmed baryons, a lot of information can be derived with the assistance of $SU(3)$ flavour symmetry. Using $SU(3)$ relations between different decay modes, we can give some predictions based on the new measurements which can be tested with the high luminosity experiments in the f…
$Z_c(4430)$ discovered by the Belle and confirmed by the LHCb in $\bar{B}^0\toψ(2S)K^-π^+$ is generally considered to be a charged charmonium-like state that includes minimally two quarks and two antiquarks. $Z_c(4200)$ found in $\bar{B}^0\to J/ψK^-π^+$ by the Belle is also a good candidate of a charged charmonium-like state. We demonstrate that kinematical singularities in triangle loop diagrams induce a resonance-like behavior that can consistently explain the properties (mass, width, and Argand plot) of $Z_c(4430)$ and $Z_c(4200)$ from the experimental analyses. The triangle diagrams includ…
The observation of new $Ω_{c}=ssc$ states by LHCb \cite{Aaij:2017nav} and the confirmation of four of them by Belle \cite{Yelton:2017qxg} may represent an important milestone in our understanding of the quark organization inside hadrons. By providing results for the spectrum of $Ω_{c(b)}$ baryons and predictions for their $Ξ_{c(b)}^{+}K^{-}$ decay channels, we suggest a possible solution to the $Ω_{c}$ quantum number puzzle. We also discuss why the set of $Ω_{c(b)}$ baryons are the most suitable environment to test the validity of three-quark and quark-diquark effective degrees of freedom. Fin…
The LHCb and Belle collaborations have reported on some anomalies in $b \to s$ transitions, with discrepancies with the Standard Model predictions in some angular observables and branching ratios and intriguing hints for lepton universality violation. We will review the current situation and explore the proposed New Physics explanations for these tensions. We will also discuss the possible connection of the $b \to s$ anomalies to other central problems in physics, such as the dark matter of the Universe, the origin of neutrino masses or the strong CP problem.
We extend our recent works on the two-pion $S$-wave resonance contributions to the kaon-pion ones in the $B$ meson hadronic charmonium decay modes based on the perturbative QCD approach. The $S$-wave $Kπ$ time-like form factor in its distribution amplitudes is described by the LASS parametrization, which consists of the $K^*_0(1430)$ resonant state together with an effective range nonresonant component. The predictions for the decays $B\rightarrow J/ψKπ$ in this work agree well with the experimental results from $BABAR$ and Belle Collaborations. We also discuss theoretical uncertainties, indic…
LHCb found hints for physics beyond the Standard Model (SM) in $B\to K^*μ^+μ^-$, $R(K)$ and $B_s\toϕμ^+μ^-$. These intriguing hints for NP have recently been confirmed by the LHCb measurement of $R(K^*)$ giving a combined significance for NP above the $5\,σ$ level. In addition, the BABAR, BELLE and LHCb results for $B\to D^{(*)}τν$ also point towards lepton flavour universality (LFU) violating new physics (NP). Furthermore, there is the long-standing discrepancy between the measurement and the theory prediction of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon ($a_μ$) at the $3\,σ$ level. Concernin…
We systematically study the semileptonic decays of ${\bf B_c} \to {\bf B_n}\ell^+ ν_{\ell}$ in the light-front constituent quark model, where ${\bf B_c}$ represent the anti-triplet charmed baryons of $(Ξ_c^0,Ξ_c^+,Λ_c^+)$ and ${\bf B_n}$ correspond to the octet ones. We determine the spin-flavor structures of the constituents in the baryons with the Fermi statistics and calculate the decay branching ratios (${\cal B}$s) and averaged asymmetry parameters ($α$s) with the helicity formalism. In particular, we find that ${\cal B}( Λ_c^+ \to Λe^+ ν_{e}, ne^+ ν_{e})=(3.55\pm1.04, 0.36\pm0.15)\%$, ${…
In a previous paper we suggested an explanation for the peak designated as $Z(4430)^+$ in the $ψ^\primeπ^+$ mass spectrum, observed by Belle in ${\bar{\!B}} \to {ψ^\prime} π^+ K$ decays, as an effect of $\bar{\!D}{}^{\,*0}D^{\,+} \to ψ^\primeπ^+$ rescattering in the decays ${\bar{\!B}} \to {D_{s}^{\,\prime -}} {D}$, where the $D_{s}^{\,\prime -}$ is an as-yet unobserved radial excitation of the pseudoscalar ground state $D_{s}^{\,-}$-meson. In this paper, we demonstrate that this hypothesis provides an explanation of the double $Z^+$-like peaking structures, which were studied by LHCb with muc…
In this article, we present a complete classification of the negative parity $Ξ'_{c/b}$ and $Ξ_{c/b}$ $P$-wave states: 7 belonging to the $SU(3)$ flavor sextet and 7 to the flavor anti-triplet, the calculation of the $Ξ'_{c/b}$ and $Ξ_{c/b}$ strong partial decay widths into $^2Σ_c \bar{K}$, $^2Ξ_c^{'} π$, $^2Σ_c \bar{K}$, $^4Ξ_c^{'} π$, $Λ_c^{'} \bar{K}$, $Ξ_c^{} π$ and $Ξ_c^{} η$ channels both within the Elementary Emission Model (EEM) and the $^3P_0$ model, and the calculation of the electromagnetic decay widths for $Ξ'_{c/b}$ and $Ξ_{c/b}$ radiative decays. The three lowest-lying $Υ$ states, i.e. $Υ(1S)$, $Υ(2S)$, and $Υ(3S)$, composed of $b\bar b$ pairs and below the $B\bar B$ threshold, provide a good platform for the researches of hadronic physics and physics beyond the Standard Model. They can be produced directly in $e^+e^-$ colliding experiments, such as CLEO, Babar, and Belle, with low continuum backgrounds. In these experiments, many measurements of the exclusive $Υ(1S)$ and $Υ(2S)$ decays into light hadrons, which shed light on the "80\% rule" for the Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka suppressed decays in the bottomonium sector, were carried out. Meanw…
The isovector and isoscalar $ND$ $s$-wave scattering lengths are extracted by fitting to the LHCb data of the $pD^0$ invariant-mass distribution in the decay $Λ_b\rightarrowπ^-pD^0$, making use of the cusp effect at the $nD^+$ threshold. The analysis is based on a coupled-channel nonrelativistic effective field theory. We find that the real part of the isovector $ND$ scattering length is unnaturally large due to the existence of a near-threshold state with a mass around 2.8 GeV. The state is consistent with the $Σ_c(2800)^+$ resonance observed at Belle. Our results suggest that it couples stro…
In view of the emerging hints for the violation of lepton flavour universality in several $B$-meson decays, we conduct a model-independent study (effective field theory approach) of several well-motivated new physics scenarios. Taking into account the most recent LHCb data, we provide updates to Wilson coefficient fits for numerous popular new physics hypotheses. We also consider a promising model of vector leptoquarks, which in addition to explaining the $B$-meson decay anomalies ($R_{K^{(*)}}$ and $R_{D^{(*)}}$) would have an extensive impact for numerous flavour observables. We identify pro…
LHCb Collaboration studied the resonant structure of $B_s\to \overline{D}^0K^-π^+$ decays using the Dalitz plot analysis technique, based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3.0{\rm fb}^{-1}$ of $pp$ collision. The $K^-π^+$ components have been analyzed in the amplitude model, where the decay amplitude is modeled to be the resonant contributions with respect to the intermediate resonances $K^*(892)$, $K_0^*(1430)$ and $K_2^*(1430)$. Motivated by the experimental results, we investigate the color-favored quasi-two-body $B \to \overline{D}^0Kπ$ decays in the framework …
The rare decays B_s -> μ^+μ^- and B -> K^{(*)}μ^+μ^- are sensitive to new particles and couplings via their interferences with the standard model contributions. Recently, the upper bound on B(B_s -> μ^+μ^-) has been improved significantly by the CMS, LHCb, CDF, and DØ experiments. Combining with the measurements of B(B-> K^{(*)}μ^+μ^-), we derive constraints on the relevant parameters of minimal supersymmetic standard model with and without R-parity, and examine their contributions to the dimuon forward-backward asymmetry in B-> K^{*}μ^+μ^- decay. We find that (i) the contribution of R-parity …
We analyzed the nonleptonic decays $B/B_s\to ψ(2S) V $ with $V=(ρ, ω, K^{*}, ϕ)$ by employing the perturbative QCD (PQCD) factorization approach. Here the branching ratios, the $CP$ asymmetries and the complete set of polarization observables are investigated systematically. Besides the traditional contributions from the factorizable and nonfactorizable diagrams at the leading order, the next-to-leading order (NLO) vertex corrections could also provide considerable contributions. The PQCD predictions for the branching ratios of the $B_{(s)}\to ψ(2S)K^{*}, ψ(2S) ϕ$ decays are consistent with th…
The recent measurements on $R_D$, $R_{D^*}$ and $R_{J/ψ}$ by three pioneering experiments, BaBar, Belle and LHCb, indicate that the notion of lepton flavour universality is violated in the weak charged-current processes, mediated through $b \to c \ell \bar ν_\ell$ transitions. These intriguing results, which delineate a tension with their standard model predictions at the level of $(2-3)σ$ have triggered many new physics propositions in recent times, and are generally attributed to the possible implication of new physics in $ b \to c τ\bar ν$ transition. This, in turn, opens up another avenue,…
Inspired by $P_c(4380)$ and $P_c(4450)$ recently observed by LHCb, a QCD sum rule investigation is performed, by which they can be identified as exotic hidden-charm pentaquarks composed of an anti-charmed meson and a charmed baryon. Our results suggest that $P_c(4380)$ and $P_c(4450)$ have quantum numbers $J^P=3/2^-$ and $5/2^+$, respectively. Furthermore, two extra hidden-charm pentaqurks with configurations $\bar{D}Σ_c^*$ and $\bar{D}^*Σ_c^*$ are predicted, which have spin-parity quantum numbers $J^P=3/2^-$ and $J^P=5/2^+$, respectively. As an important extension, the mass predictions of hid…
CP violation (CPV) in the baryon sectors has not yet been established experimentally. In this work, we propose to search for the hyperon CPV through the Cabibbo-favored charm-baryon decaying processes involving a hyperon in the final states, such as $Λ_c^+\to Λ^0π^+, Λ^0\to pπ^-$. The CPV of the hyperon decays are purely revealed in these chain processes, since the CPV in the Cabibbo-favored charm decays are vanishing in the Standard Model (SM). The hyperons are polarized in the weak charm decays, so that we can measure the Lee-Yang asymmetric parameter $α$ by the angular distributions, and th…
The experimental information on b --> s l^+ l^- decays has grown enormously during the last couple of years due to BaBar, Belle, CDF and LHCb. Especially, exclusive modes B --> K^(*) l^+ l^-, which have the largest rate and are easily accessible experimentally, provide a variety of observables which constrain non-standard interactions that would affect these flavour-changing neutral current decays beyond the Standard Model. Nowadays, theoretical predictions focus on low- and high dilepton invariant mass regions, where expansions in Lambda_QCD/m_b and form factor symmetries provide means to ide…
The universality of the weak interactions can be tested in semileptonic $b \to c$ transitions, and in particular in the ratios $R(D^{(*)}) \equiv Γ(B \rightarrow D^{(*)} τν)/Γ(B \rightarrow D^{(*)} \ell ν)$ (where $\ell = μ$ or $e$). Due to the recent differences between the experimental measurements of these observables by BaBar, Belle and LHCb on the one hand and the Standard Model predicted values on the other hand, we study the predicted ratios $R(D^{(*)}) = Γ(B \rightarrow D^{(*)} τ+$ "missing" $)/Γ(B \rightarrow D^{(*)} \ell ν)$ in scenarios with an additional sterile heavy neutrino of m…
In this work, the lepton-number-violating processes in $|ΔL|=2$ decays of $Λ_b^0$ baryon, $Λ_b^0 \to p π^+μ^- μ^-$ and $Λ_b^0 \to Λ_c^+ π^+μ^- μ^-$, are investigated for the first time, via an intermediate on-shell Majorana neutrino $N$ with a mass in the GeV scale. We explore the experimental sensitivity of these dimuon channels at the LHCb and CMS experiments, in which heavy neutrino lifetimes in the accessible ranges of $τ_N = [1, 100, 1000]$ ps are considered. For a integrated luminosity collected of 10 and 50 fb${}^{-1}$ at the LHCb and 30, 300 and 3000 fb${}^{-1}$ at the CMS, we found si…
