In this paper, we derive some explicit expansion formulas associated to Brenke polynomials using operational rules based on their corresponding generating functions. The obtained coefficients are expressed either in terms of finite double sums or finite sums or sometimes in closed hypergeometric terms. The derived results are applied to Generalized Gould-Hopper polynomials and Generalized Hermite polynomials introduced by Szegö and Chihara. Some well-known duplication and convolution formulas are deduced as particular cases.
In this paper, we extend an expansion formula of Liu to multiple basic hypergeometric series over the root system $A_{n}.$ The usefulness of Liu's expansion formula in special functions and number theory has been shown by Liu and many others. We first establish a very general multiple expansion formula over the root system $A_{n}$ and then deduce several $A_{n}$ extensions of Liu's expansion formula. From these multiple formulas, we derive two groups of multiple expansion formulas for infinite products. As applications, we deduce an $A_{n}$ Rogers' $\text{}_{6}ϕ_{5}$ summation, an $A_{n}$ exte…
In this short note we show the equivalence of Fourier expansion and Poisson summation approaches for the series approximation of the exponential function $\exp ({-{t^2}/4})$. The application of the Poisson summation formula is shown to reduce to that of the Fourier expansion method.
After reviewing some fundamental facts from the theory of theta hypergeometric series we derive, using indefinite summation, several summation, transformation, and expansion formulas for multibasic theta hypergeometric series. Some of the identities presented here generalize corresponding formulas given in Chapter 11 of the Gasper and Rahman book [Basic hypergeometric series, 2nd ed., Encyclopedia of Mathematics And Its Applications 96, Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 2004].
We extend expansion formulas of Liu given in 2013 to the context of multiple series over root systems. Liu and others have shown the usefulness of these formulas in Special Functions and number-theoretic contexts. We extend Wang and Ma's generalizations of Liu's work which they obtained using $q$-Lagrange inversion. We use the $A_n$ and $C_n$ Bailey transformation and other summation theorems due to Gustafson, Milne, Milne and Lilly, and others, from the theory of $A_n$, $C_n$ and $D_n$ basic hypergeometric series.
For all integers $n\geq1$, let \begin{align*} W_n(p,q)=\prod_{j=1}^{n}\left\{e^{-p/j}\left(1+\frac{p}{j}+\frac{q}{j^2}\right)\right\} \end{align*} and \begin{align*} R_n(p, q)=\prod_{j=1}^{n}\left\{e^{-p/(2j-1)}\left(1+\frac{p}{2j-1}+\frac{q}{(2j-1)^2}\right)\right\}, \end{align*} where $p$, $q$ are complex parameters. The infinite product $W_{\infty}(p,q)$ includes the Wallis and Wilf formulas, and also the infinite product definition of Weierstrass for the gamma function, as special cases. In this paper, we present asymptotic expansions of $W_n(p,q)$ and $R_n(p, q)$ as $n\to\infty$. In addit…
In this article three expansion formulas for a generalized hypergeometric function $_4F_3$ are derived, when its upper parameters differ by integers. Though the results are special cases of a general continuation formula for $_pF_q$, they are sufficiently general and unify a number of known results.
We give a recursive formula for an expansion of a solution of a general non-autonomous polynomial differential equation. The formula is given on the algebraic level with a use of shuffle product. This approach minimizes the number of integrations on each order of expansion. Using combinatorics of trees we estimate the radius of convergence of the expansion.
In this paper, we develop Windschitl's approximation formula for the gamma function to two asymptotic expansions by using a little known power series. In particular, for $n\in \mathbb{N}$ with $n\geq 4$, we have \begin{equation*} Γ\left( x+1\right) =\sqrt{2πx}\left( \tfrac{x}{e}\right) ^{x}\left( x\sinh \tfrac{1}{x}\right) ^{x/2}\exp \left( \sum_{k=3}^{n-1}\tfrac{\left( 2k\left( 2k-2\right) !-2^{2k-1}\right) B_{2k}}{2k\left( 2k\right) !x^{2k-1}} +R_{n}\left( x\right) \right) \end{equation*} with \begin{equation*} \left| R_{n}\left( x\right) \right| \leq \frac{\left| B_{2n}\right| }{2n\left( 2n…
We prove an analogue of Gutzmer's formula for Hermite expansions. As a consequence we obtain a new proof of a characterisation of the image of $ L^2(\R^n) $ under the Hermite semigroup. We also obtain some new orthogonality relations for complexified Hermite functions.

From two q-summation formulas we deduce certain series expansion formulas involving the q-gamma function. With these formulas we can give q-analogues of series expansions for certain constants.
The function $g(x)= (1+1/x)^{x}$ has the well-known limit $e$ as $x\rightarrow{\infty}$. The coefficients $c_{j}$ in an asymptotic expansion for $g(x)$ are considered. A simple recursion formula is derived, and then using Cauchy's integral formula the coefficients are approximated for large $j$. From this it is shown that $|c_{j}|\rightarrow{1}$ as $j\rightarrow{\infty}$.
The Askey-Wilson function transform is a q-analogue of the Jacobi function transform with kernel given by an explicit non-polynomial eigenfunction of the Askey-Wilson second order q-difference operator. The kernel is called the Askey-Wilson function. In this paper an explicit expansion formula for the Askey-Wilson function in terms of Askey-Wilson polynomials is proven. With this expansion formula at hand, the image under the Askey-Wilson function transform of an Askey-Wilson polynomial multiplied by an analogue of the Gaussian is computed explicitly. As a special case of these formulas a q-an…
Applying a theorem of Howard for a formula recently proved by Brassesco and Méndez, we derive new simple explicit formulas for the coefficients of the asymptotic expansion to the sequence of factorials. To our knowledge no explicit formula containing only the four basic operations was known until now.
We provide a multidimensional weighted Euler--MacLaurin summation formula on polytopes and a multidimensional generalization of a result due to L. J. Mordell on the series expansion in Bernoulli polynomials. These results are consequences of a more general series expansion; namely, if $χ_{τ\mathcal{P}}$ denotes the characteristic function of a dilated integer convex polytope $\mathcal{P}$ and $q$ is a function with suitable regularity, we prove that the periodization of $qχ_{τ\mathcal{P}}$ admits an expansion in terms of multivariate Bernoulli polynomials. These multivariate polynomials are re…
Several series expansions for real powers and several formulas for partial Bell polynomials of sinc and sinhc functions in terms of central factorial and Stirling numbers of second kind
本文利用 Faà di Bruno 公式、第二类中心阶乘数和第二类 Stirling 数,建立了 sinc 与 sinhc 函数实数幂的级数展开式,并给出相关偏 Bell 多项式闭式公式及组合数恒等式。
We obtain an explicit simple formula for the coefficients of the asymptotic expansion for the factorial of a natural number,in terms of derivatives of powers of an elementary function. The unique explicit expression for the coefficients that appears to be known is that in the book by L. Comtet, which is given in terms of sums of associated Stirling numbers of the first kind. By considering the bivariate generating function of the associated Stirling numbers of the second kind, another expression for the coefficients in terms of them follows also from our analysis. Comparison with Comtet's expr…
We show how to find series expansions for $π$ of the form $π=\sum_{n=0}^\infty {S(n)}\big/{\binom{mn}{pn}a^n}$, where S(n) is some polynomial in $n$ (depending on $m,p,a$). We prove that there exist such expansions for $m=8k$, $p=4k$, $a=(-4)^k$, for any $k$, and give explicit examples for such expansions for small values of $m$, $p$ and $a$.
In the paper, by virtue of expansions of two finite products of finitely many square sums, with the aid of series expansions of composite functions of (hyperbolic) sine and cosine functions with inverse sine and cosine functions, and in the light of properties of partial Bell polynomials, the author establishes Taylor's series expansions of real powers of two functions containing squares of inverse (hyperbolic) cosine functions in terms of the Stirling numbers of the first kind, presents an explicit formula of specific partial Bell polynomials at a sequence of derivatives of a function contain…
In this paper, using similar symbolical method of Burchnall and Chaundy formulas of expansion for the generalized hypergeometric function were constructed. By means of the found formulas of expansion the formulas of an analytic continuation for hypergeometric function of Clausen is defined. The obtained formulas of an analytic continuation express known hypergeometric Appell function $ F_2 ({a;b_1, b_2 ;c_1, c_2 ;x,y}) $ which theory is well studied.
Summation formulas, such as the Euler-Maclaurin expansion or Gregory's quadrature, have found many applications in mathematics, ranging from accelerating series, to evaluating fractional sums and analyzing asymptotics, among others. We show that these summation formulas actually arise as particular instances of a single series expansion, including Euler's method for alternating series. This new summation formula gives rise to a family of polynomials, which contain both the Bernoulli and Gregory numbers in their coefficients. We prove some properties of those polynomials, such as recurrence ide…
