A crossover QCD phase transition in the early Universe, involving a formation scenario of stable strangeon nuggets is studied. The Polyakov-Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model is applied to calculate the thermodynamics of the QCD phase with u, d, s quarks, and the relativistic mean-field model describes the hadronic matter. The crossover phase transition from quarks to hadrons occurred at cosmic temperature of T~170 MeV, and those two phases are connected in a three-window model. Due to quark's non-perturbative coupling, quark clusters with net strangeness (i.e., strangeons) and then strangeon nuggets could form during the transition process. A distribution function of the nugget baryon number, A, is introduced to describe the nuggets' number density. All the strangeon nuggets with A>A_c are considered to be stable, where the critical number, A_c, is determined by both the weak and strong interactions. A non-relativistic equation of state is applied to calculate the thermodynamics of stable nuggets. The calculation shows that the thermodynamical contributions (pressure, entropy, etc.) of the stable strangeon nuggets are negligible. The resultant mass density of the strangeon nuggets survival from the early Universe is comparable to the dark matter, that indicates a possible explanation of the cold dark matter without introducing any exotic particles beyond the standard model.

Quarkonium-nucleus systems are composed of two interacting hadronic states without common valence quarks, which interact primarily through multi-gluon exchanges, realizing a color van der Waals force. We present lattice QCD calculations of the interactions of strange and charm quarkonia with light nuclei. Both the strangeonium-nucleus and charmonium-nucleus systems are found to be relatively deeply bound when the masses of the three light quarks are set equal to that of the physical strange quark. Extrapolation of these results to the physical light-quark masses suggests that the binding energ…
We present a study of electroexcitation of nucleon resonances with higher spins, in a soft-wall AdS/QCD model, comparing our results with existing data from the CLAS Collaboration at JLab, from MAMI, and other experiments.
We try to find the grounds for the standard nucleon QCD sum rules, based on more detailed description of QCD vacuum. We calculate the polarization operator of the nucleon current in the instanton medium. The medium (QCD vacuum) is assumed to be a composition of the small-size instantons and some long-wave gluon fluctuations. We solve the corresponding QCD sum rules equations and demonstrate that there is a solution with the value of the nucleon mass close to the physical one if the fraction of the small size instantons contribution w_s \approx 2/3.
Coupling constants of $η$ and $η^{\prime}$ mesons with nucleons have been calculated using the method of QCD sum rules. Starting from vacuum-to-meson correlation function of interpolating fields of two nucleons, its matrix element with respect to nucleon spinors has been considered. Coupling constants at the physical points have been estimated from extrapolation of results obtained at two other points. Anomalous glue has been found to give substantial contribution to the coupling constants and also accounts for a significant OZI-rule violation.
We estimate strong coupling constant between the negative parity nucleons with $π$ meson within the light cone QCD sum rules. A method for eliminating the unwanted contributions coming from the nucleon--nucleon and nucleon--negative parity nucleon transition is presented. It is observed that the value strong coupling constant of the negative parity nucleon $N^\ast N^\ast π$ transition is considerably different from the one predicted by the 3--point QCD sum rules, but is quite close to the coupling constant of the positive parity $N N π$ transition.
We present a comparative study of nucleon structure such as electromagnetic form factors, transverse charge and magnetization densities in three different models within AdS/QCD framework.
We have analyzed axial-vector current-current correlation functions between one-nucleon states to calculate the singlet axial-vector coupling constant of the nucleon. The octet-octet and the octet-singlet current correlators, investigated in this work, do not require any use of instanton effects. The QCD and hadronic parameters used for the evaluation of correlators have been varied by (10 - 20)%. The value of the singlet axial-vector coupling constant of the nucleon obtained from this analysis is consistent with its current determination from experiments and QCD theory.
We present an improved study of the electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon and of the Roper-nucleon transition using an extended version of the effective action of soft-wall AdS/QCD. We include novel contribution from additional non-minimal terms, which do not renormalize the charge and do not change the normalization of the corresponding form factors, but the inclusion of these terms results in an important contribution to the momentum dependence of the form factors and helicity amplitudes.
Within the framework QCD sum rules, we use the least square fitting method to investigate the first radial excitations of the nucleon and light mesons such as $ρ$, $K^{*}$, $π$ , $φ$. The extracted masses of these radial excitations are consistent with the experimental data. Especially we find that the decay constant of $π(1300)$, which is the the first radial excitation of $π$, is tiny and strongly suppressed as a consequence of chiral symmetry.
The associated production of a $J/ψ$ and a $π$-meson in antiproton-nucleon annihilation is studied in the framework of QCD collinear factorization. In this approach, a hard subprocess responsible for the production of the heavy quark-antiquark pair factorizes from soft hadronic matrix elements, such as the antiproton (nucleon) distribution amplitude and the nucleon-to-pion (antiproton-to-pion) transition distribution amplitude. This reaction mechanism should dominate the forward and backward kinematical regions, where the cross sections are expected to be measurable in the set-up of the PANDA …
There was a general believe that the nucleon QCD sum rules which include only the quark loops and thus contain only the condensates of dimension d=3 and d=4 have only a trivial solution. We demonstrate that there is also a nontrivial solution. We show that it can be treated as the lowest order approximation to the solution which includes the higher terms of the Operator Product Expansion. Inclusion of the radiative corrections improves the convergence of the series.
We study the axial-vector form factor of the nucleons at constant and homogenous isospin chemical potential using holographic QCD. Nucleon mass splitting in such isospin medium is taken into account. According to AdS/CFT correspondence, the critical value of the isospin chemical potential μ_I equals to UV- boundary value of the time component of the bulk gauge field. We calculate the axial-vector form factor of the proton and neutron in such background in the framework of the hard-wall model and plot the form factors for the isospin chemical potential critical value μ_I=m_π.
We present a phenomenological unpolarized Parton Distribution Functions for diquarks based on a soft-wall light front AdS/QCD quark-diquark nucleon model. From a probed model consistent with the Drewll-Yan-West relation and quark counting rule, we have performed a fit of some free parameters using known phenomenological quark PDF data. The model considers the entire set of possible diquarks within the nucleon valence, in the present work we focus on the spin-0 $ud_0$, spin-1 $ud_1$ and spin-1 $uu_1$ diquarks into the valence of protons. The diquark PDFs obtained are able to used in proton-prot…
Using the light-cone sum rules at leading order, we present an approach to perform the preliminary upper estimation for the nucleon gravitational form factor $D(t)$ ($D$-term contribution). Comparison with the experimental data and with the results of different models is discussed.
