The discrepancies between the measurements of rare (semi-)leptonic $B$ decays and the corresponding Standard Model predictions point convincingly towards the existence of new physics for which a heavy neutral gauge boson ($Z^\prime$) is a prime candidate. However, the effect of the mixing of the $Z^\prime$ with the SM $Z$, even though it cannot be avoided by any symmetry, is usually assumed to be small and thus neglected in phenomenological analyses. In this letter we point out that a mixing of the naturally expected size leads to lepton flavour universal contributions, providing a very good fit to $B$ data. Furthermore, the global electroweak fit is affected by $Z-Z^\prime$ mixing where the tension in the $W$ mass, recently confirmed and strengthened by the CDF measurement, prefers a non-zero value of it. We find that a $Z^\prime$ boson with a mass between $\approx 1-5\,\rm {TeV}$ can provide a unified explanations of the $B$ anomalies and the $W$ mass. This strongly suggests that the breaking of the new gauge symmetry giving raise to the $Z^\prime$ boson is linked to electroweak symmetry breaking with intriguing consequences for model building.
We entertain the option of scalar leptoquarks to explain the anomalies in the semi-leptonic decays of $B$-mesons and the discrepancies in the lepton $(g-2)_l$'s including the recent results at Fermilab E989. The $R_{K^{(*)}}$ and $R_{D^{(*)}}$ anomalies can be accommodated by the specific couplings for triplet and singlet leptoquarks, respectively, subject to the bounds from $B\to Kν{\barν}$. We discuss the correlation between the leptonic signatures from leptoquarks such as $μ\to eγ$ and the electric dipole moment of electron and show that desirable neutrino masses can be generated dominantly…
Anomalies in semi-leptonic $B$ decays could indicate new physics beyond the standard model(SM). There is an older puzzle in non-leptonic $B \to πK$ decays. The new particles, leptoquarks and diquarks, required to solve the semi-leptonic and the non-leptonic puzzles can also generate neutrino masses and mixing at loop level. We show that a consistent framework to explain the $B$ anomalies and the neutrino masses is possible and we make predictions for certain rare nonleptonic $B$ decays.
We present a complete analysis of Lepton Flavor Universality (LFU) violations in leptonic $τ$ decays in motivated models addressing the $B$-physics anomalies, based on the $SU(4)\times SU(3)\times SU(2)\times U(1)$ gauge group. We show that the inclusion of vector-like fermions, required by $B$-physics data, leads to sizable modifications of the leading-log results derived within an Effective Field Theory approach. In the motivated parameter-space region relevant to the $B$-physics anomalies, the models predict a few per-mil decrease of the effective $W$-boson coupling to $τ$, within the reach…
We analyse the recent hints of Lepton Flavor Universality violations in semi-leptonic $B$ decays within a general EFT based on a $U(2)^n$ flavor symmetry acting on the light generations of SM fermions. We analyse in particular the consistency of these anomalies with the tight constraints on various low-energy observables in $B$ and $τ$ physics. We show that, with a moderate fine-tuning, a consistent picture for all low-energy observables can be obtained under the additional dynamical assumption that the NP sector is coupled preferentially to third generation SM fermions. We discuss how this dy…
I review explanations for the three neutrino anomalies (solar, atmospheric and LSND) which go beyond the ``conventional'' neutrino oscillations induced by mass-mixing. Several of these require non-zero neutrino masses as well.
In this work we extend the SM by introducing only exotic scalars and leptons and show that within the reasonable error limits, both the observed anomalies in $R(D^{(*)})$ and $R_{K^{(*)}}$ can be explained along with satisfying all the constrains from nuetral meson oscillations, precision Z-pole data etc. In a trivial extension of our model with addition of three heavy right handed neutrinos, explaining the small masses of neutrinos and generation of Baryon excess via leptogenesis is possible as well. The disagreement between SM prediction and experimental data in muon (g-2) measurements can b…
Recent anomalies in $^8$Be and $^4$He nuclear decays can be explained by postulating a fifth force mediated by a new boson $X$. The distributions of both transitions are consistent with the same $X$ mass, 17 MeV, providing kinematic evidence for a single new particle explanation. In this work, we examine whether the new results also provide dynamical evidence for a new particle explanation, that is, whether the observed decay rates of both anomalies can be described by a single hypothesis for the $X$ boson's interactions. We consider the observed $^8$Be and $^4$He excited nuclei, as well as a …
The universality of the weak interactions can be tested in semileptonic $b \to c$ transitions, and in particular in the ratios $R(D^{(*)}) \equiv Γ(B \rightarrow D^{(*)} τν)/Γ(B \rightarrow D^{(*)} \ell ν)$ (where $\ell = μ$ or $e$). Due to the recent differences between the experimental measurements of these observables by BaBar, Belle and LHCb on the one hand and the Standard Model predicted values on the other hand, we study the predicted ratios $R(D^{(*)}) = Γ(B \rightarrow D^{(*)} τ+$ "missing" $)/Γ(B \rightarrow D^{(*)} \ell ν)$ in scenarios with an additional sterile heavy neutrino of m…
In this talk I will present the work that we did in \cite{1}\cite{2}\cite{3}\cite{4}\cite{5} related to observed lepton universality violation by Babar, Belle and LHCb in R($D^{(*)}$) and $R_{K^{(*)}}$ as well as the reported deviation in muon (g-2) by BNL. We had shown that all these anomalies as well as Baryon-genesis, Dark-matter and small neutrino masses could be explained by introducing new exotic scalars, leptons and scalar-leptoquarks only. It turn out that some of these models have very peculiar signatures such as prediction of existence of heavy stable charged particle \cite{1}\cite{2…
Neutrino oscillations are solidly established, with a hint of CP violation just emerging. Similarly, there are hints of lepton universality violation in $b \to s$ transitions at the level of $2.6 σ$. By assuming that the unitary transformation between weak and mass charged leptons equals the leptonic mixing matrix measured in neutrino oscillation experiments, we predict several lepton flavor violating (LFV) B meson decays. We are led to the tantalizing possibility that some LFV branching ratios for B decays correlate with the leptonic CP phase $δ$ characterizing neutrino oscillations. Moreover…
We propose to jointly explain the electron/muon $g-2$ anomalies in the framework of anomaly mediated SUSY breaking (AMSB) scenario. Two Yukawa deflected AMSB models are proposed and discussed in depth: one with lepton-specific interactions and the other one with messenger-matter interactions. Both models are found to be able to jointly explain the anomalies at $2 σ$ level by naturally realizing the preferred parameter space with $μM_1,μM_2<0$ and very heavy left-handed smuon.
The growing experimental indication of Lepton Flavour Universality Violation (LFUV) both in charged- and neutral-current semileptonic B-decays, has triggered many theoretical interpretations of such non-standard phenomena. Focusing on popular scenarios where the explanation of these anomalies requires New Physics at the TeV scale, we emphasise the importance of including electroweak corrections to obtain trustable predictions for the models in question. We find that the most important quantum effects are the modifications of the leptonic couplings of the W and Z vector bosons and the generatio…
We discuss the minimal theory for quark-lepton unification at the low scale. In this context, the quarks and leptons are unified in the same representations and neutrino masses are generated through the inverse seesaw mechanism. The properties of the leptoquarks predicted in this theory are discussed in detail and we investigate the predictions for the leptonic and semi-leptonic decays of mesons. We study the possibility to explain the current value of $\mathcal{R}_K$ reported by the LHCb collaboration and the value of the muon anomalous magnetic moment reported by the Muon $g-2$ experiment at…
In recent years, exciting (indirect) hints for physics beyond the Standard Model (SM) have been accumulated. In particular, semi-leptonic $B$ decays show deviations from the SM predictions, which, due to the ratios $R(K^{(*)})$ and $R(D^{(*)})$ are obviously related to lepton flavour universality violation (LFUV). However, {we point out} there are more anomalies which admit an interpretation in terms of LFUV: The anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, the Cabibbo angle anomaly, the CMS measurements of non-resonant di-electrons, the difference of the forward-backward asymmetry in $B\to D^*\ellν…
We examine the compatibility between existing experimental data and a recently proposed explanation of the LSND and MiniBooNE anomalies, given in terms of a sterile neutrino $N$ whose decay is dominated by a radiative mode. We find that current experimental data on $τ\rightarrow μννγ$ decays are compatible with the sterile neutrino parameters required for the explanation of the anomalies, but $K\rightarrow μνγ$ shows a marginal tension with those parameters. We also propose experimental cuts on radiative $K$ decays that could test the sterile neutrino hypothesis better. Finally, we study the c…
We make a number of small changes, including correcting an error in our heavy-neutrino decay rate. None of our analysis is changed, either in substance or detail.
The origin of small mixing among the quarks and a large mixing among the neutrinos has been an open question in particle physics. In order to answer this question, we postulate general relations among the quarks and the leptonic mixing angles at a high scale, which could be the scale of Grand Unified Theories. The central idea of these relations is that the quark and the leptonic mixing angles can be unified at some high scale either due to some quark-lepton symmetry or some other underlying mechanism and as a consequence, the mixing angles of the leptonic sector are proportional to that of th…
We show that the anomalous acceleration of the Pioneer 10/11 spacecraft can be explained if there is some mirror gas or mirror dust in our solar system.
I introduce a model to explain the recent anomalies in the muon anomalous magnetic moment and the rare semi-leptonic $B$ meson decays. The Standard Model is extended by a $U(1)^\prime$ gauge symmetry and a complete fourth family fermions which are vector-like under the gauge symmetry. We found parameter points which can explain the anomalies consistently with the other observables. We then propose an interesting possibility to have signals with four muons or more from vector-like lepton pair production.
We show that the recent anomalies in $b \to s \ell^+ \ell^-$ transitions observed by the LHCb collaboration can be accommodated within string motivated models with a low mass $Z^{\prime}$ gauge boson. Such $Z^{\prime}$ gauge boson can be obtained in compactifications with a low string scale. We consider a class of intersecting D-brane models, in which different families of quarks and leptons are simultaneously realized at different D-brane intersections. The explanation of $b \to s \ell^+ \ell^-$ anomalies via a stringy $Z^{\prime}$ sets important restrictions on these viable D-brane construct…
An analysis of the leptonic texture for the new triangular mass matrices has been carried out. In particular, it is shown that both bimaximal and nearly bimaximal solutions for solar and atmospheric neutrino anomalies can be generated within this pattern. We have also derived exact and compact parametrization of the leptonic mixing matrix in terms of the lepton masses and the parameters $α, β'$ and $δ$. A consistency with the CHOOZ reactor result for $V_m{_{13}}$ and a smallness of the Jarlskog's invariant parameter are obtained.
We address the presently reported significant flavor anomalies in the $K$ and $B$ meson systems such as the CP violating Kaon decay ($ε'/ε$) and lepton-flavor universality violation in $B$ meson decays ($R_{K^{(*)}},$ and also commenting ${R_{D^{(*)}}}$), by proposing flavorful and chiral vector bosons as the new physics constitution at $\sim 1\,\mathrm{TeV}$. Interestingly, if the new (composite) vector bosons are quite heavier than $\sim 1\,\mathrm{TeV}$, we face a difficulty in addressing the anomaly in $ε'/ε$ consistently with the constraint from the $K^0$-$\overline{K^0}$ mixing. Both of …
We present a unified explanation for the $B$-decay anomalies in $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$ and $R_{K}$ together with the anomalous muon magnetic moment, consistent with the constraints from the current measurements of leptonic decay rates and $D^0-\bar{D}^0$, $B_{s}^0-\bar{B}_{s}^0$ mixings, within the framework of a minimal left-right symmetric gauge theory motivated by one of the low-energy subgroups of $E_{6}$ naturally accommodating leptoquarks.
The Minimal Lepton Flavour Violation (MLFV) framework is discussed after the recent indication for CP violation in the leptonic sector. Among the three distinct versions of MLFV, the one with degenerate right-handed neutrinos will be disfavoured, if this indication is confirmed. The predictions for leptonic radiative rare decays and muon conversion in nuclei are analysed, identifying strategies to disentangle the different MLFV scenarios. The claim that the present anomalies in the semi-leptonic $B$-meson decays can be explained within the MLFV context is critically re-examined concluding that…
Recently the MiniBooNE Collaboration has confirmed its anomalous excess in (anti)muon- to (anti)electron-neutrino oscillation data. Combined with long-standing results from the LSND experiment this amounts to a 6.1 sigma evidence for new physics beyond the Standard Model. In this paper we develop a framework with 3 active and 3 sterile neutrinos with altered dispersion relations that provides a mechanism to explain these anomalies without being in conflict with the absence of anomalous neutrino disappearance in other neutrino oscillation experiments.
We extend the contents of the standard model (SM) by introducing TeV-scale scalar leptoquarks to generate neutrino masses and explain some current observed deviations from the SM predictions, including the anomalous magnetic moments of charged leptons (electron and muon) and $B$-physics anomalies ($R_{K^{(*)}}$ and $R_{D^{(*)}}$). The model consists of $\text{SU}(2)_L$ singlet leptoquark $S_1\sim (\bar{3}, 1, 1/3)$, doublet leptoquark $\tilde{R}_2\sim (3, 2, 1/6)$ and triplet leptoquark $S_3\sim (\bar{3}, 3, 1/3)$. We combine the constraints arising from the low-energy lepton flavor violation,…
A range of flavour physics observables show tensions with their corresponding Standard Model expectations: measurements of leptonic flavour-changing neutral current processes and ratios of semi-leptonic branching fractions involving different generations of leptons show deviations of the order of four standard deviations. If confirmed, either would be an intriguing sign of new physics. In this manuscript, we analyse the current experimental situation of such processes and for the first time estimate the combined impact of the future datasets of the Belle II and LHCb experiments on the present …
Significant deviations from the Standard Model are observed in semileptonic charged and neutral-current B-decays, the muon magnetic moment, and the extraction of the Cabibbo angle. We propose that these deviations point towards a coherent pattern of New Physics effects induced by two scalar mediators, a leptoquark $S_1$ and a charged singlet $ϕ^+$. While $S_1$ can provide solutions to charged-current $B$-decays and the muon magnetic moment, and $ϕ^+$ can accommodate the Cabibbo-angle anomaly independently, their one-loop level synergy can also address neutral-current $B$-decays. This framework…
The CDF collaboration recently announced a new measurement result of the $W$ boson mass, and it is in tension with the standard model (SM) prediction. In this paper, we explain this anomaly in the vector-like quark (VLQ) $(X,T,B)_{L,R}$ and leptoquark (LQ) $S_3$ extended model. In this model, both the VLQ and LQ have positive corrections to the $W$ boson mass. Moreover, it can also be a solution to the $(g-2)_μ$ anomaly because of the chiral enhancements from top, $T$, and $B$ quarks.
We show that the neutrino mixing pattern with the large mixing required for the atmospheric neutrino problem and the small mixing angle MSW solution for the solar neutrino problem can be naturally generated through radiative magnification, even though all the mixing angles at the seesaw scale may be small. This can account for the neutrino anomalies as well as the CHOOZ constraints in the context of quark-lepton unified theories, where the quark and lepton mixing angles are expected to be similar in magnitude at the high scale. We also indicate the 4$ν$ mixing scenarios for which this mechanis…
We propose a leptoquark model simultaneously to explain anomalies of muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment and $b\to s μ\barμ$ in light of experimental reports very recently. Here, we satisfy several stringent constraints such as $μ\to eγ$ and meson mixings. In addition, we find these leptoquarks also play an role in generating tiny neutrino masses at one-loop level without introducing any additional symmetries. We have numerical analysis and show how degrees our parameter space is restricted.
Leptoquarks have been suggested to solve a variety of discrepancies between the expected and observed phenomenon. In this paper, we show that the scalar doublet Leptoquark with Hypercharge 7/6 can simultaneously explain the recent measurement of $R_{K}$, $R_{K^*}$, the excess in anomalous magnetic moment of muon, and the observed excess in IceCube HESE data. For appropriate choice of couplings, the flavor anomalies are generated at one-loop level and IceCube data is explained via resonant production of the Leptoquark. Several constraints from LHC searches are imposed on the model parameter spa…
In addition to the long-standing anomalies seen in the muon $g-2$, $R_{K^{(*)}}$, and $R_{D^{(*)}}$ observables by various independent experiments, the CDF Collaboration has found another significant one in the $W$-boson mass. These anomalies might be intertwined at a fundamental level and have a single new-physics explanation. In this paper, we present a simultaneous solution to these anomalies with two scalar leptoquarks of roughly equal mass -- one weak-singlet $S_1$ and the other a weak-triplet $S_3$ -- which mix through a Higgs portal. The solution has only a few new couplings and TeV-sca…
We provide a combined explanation of the increasingly tantalizing $B$-meson anomalies, both in $R_{K^{(*)}}$ and $R_{D^{(*)}}$, in the Pati-Salam model with minimal matter content. This well-known model, based on the gauge group $SU(4)_{LC} \times SU(2)_L \times SU(2)_R$, naturally contains a variety of scalar leptoquarks with related and restricted couplings. In particular we show that the seesaw-motivated scalar leptoquark within the representation $(\overline{10}, 3, 1)$ and its right-handed parity partner $(\overline{10}, 1, 3)$ can solve both anomalies while making testable predictions fo…
We show that a fourth family of quarks with $m_{t'}$ in the range of (400 - 600) GeV provides a rather simple explanation for the several indications of new physics that have been observed involving CP asymmetries of the b-quark. The built-in hierarchy of the 4$\times$4 mixing matrix is such that the $t'$ readily provides a needed {\it perturbation} ($\approx 15%$) to $\sin 2 β$ as measured in $B \to ψK_s$ and simultaneously is the dominant source of CP asymmetry in $B_s \to ψϕ$. The correlation between CP asymmetries in $B_s \toψϕ$ and $B_d\toϕK_s$ suggests $m_{t'} \approx$ (400 - 600) GeV. S…
Several experiments revealed intriguing hints for lepton flavor universality (LFU) violating new physics (NP) in semi-leptonic $B$ meson decays, mainly in $b \to c τν$ and $b \to s \ell^+ \ell^-$ transitions at the $3-5\,σ$ level. Leptoquarks (LQ) are prime candidates to address these anomalies as they contribute to semi-leptonic decays already at tree level while effects in other flavor observables, agreeing with the standard model (SM), are loop suppressed. In these proceedings we review the vector leptoquark $SU(2)_L$ singlet, contained in the famous Pati-Salam model, which is able to addre…
We address the anomalies in the semi leptonic decays of $B$ mesons in a warped custodial framework. Two possible solutions of lepton non-universality are discussed: A) The muon singlets couple non-universally to NP and B) The non-universality is in the coupling of lepton doublets. Both these scenarios are characterized by different predictions for rare Kaon decays. An essential feature of these scenarios is that the electron contribution to the Wilson coefficients (WC) is non-vanishing, thereby offering possibilities for different patterns of solutions. Beginning with a generic $Z'$ model, we …
A possible extension of the Standard Model to include lepton number as local gauge symmetry is investigated. In such a model, anomalies are canceled by two extra fermions doublet. After leptonic gauge symmetry spontaneously broken, three active neutrinos may acquire non-zero Majorana masses through the modified Type-II seesaw mechanism. Constraints on the model from electro-weak precision measurements are studied. Due to the $Z_2$ discrete flavor symmetry, right-handed Majorana neutrinos can serve as cold dark matter candidate of the Universe. Constraint from dark matter relic abundance is cal…
Lepton generation universality holds very well in Z decays, but appears to be violated in recent LEP data of W leptonic decay branching fractions. If this trend persists, a consistent and natural explanation is a model of generation nonuniversality, based on the gauge group SU(2)_L X U(1)_R X U(1)_{B-L}.
I review explanations for the three neutrino anomalies (solar, atmospheric and LSND) which go beyond the ``conventional'' neutrino oscillations induced by mass-mixing. Several of these require non-zero neutrino masses as well.
There are four models of tree-level new physics (NP) that can potentially explain the $b\to s μ^+ μ^-$ and $b \to c\ell \bar ν$ anomalies simultaneously. They are the S3, U3, and U1 leptoquarks and a standard-model-like triplet vector boson (VB). In this talk, I describe an analysis of these models with general couplings. We find that even in this most general case S3 and U3 are excluded. For the U1 model, I discuss the importance of the constraints from lepton-flavor-violating(LFV) processes. As for the VB model, it is shown to be excluded by the additional tree level constraints and LHC boun…
In this paper we provide a combined explanation of charged- and neutral-current $B$-physics anomalies assuming the presence of a light sterile neutrino $N_R$ which contributes to the $B \to D^{(*)} τν$ processes. We focus in particular on two simplified models, where the mediator of the flavour anomalies is either a vector leptoquark $U_1^μ\sim ({\bf 3}, {\bf 1}, 2/3)$ or a scalar leptoquark $S_1 \sim ({\bf \bar 3}, {\bf 1}, 1/3)$. We find that $U_1^μ$ can successfully reproduce the required deviations from the Standard Model while being at the same time compatible with all other flavour and p…
Attempts to incorporate in a coherent picture the $B$-decay anomalies presumably observed in $b\rightarrow c$ and $b\rightarrow s$ semi-leptonic decays have to face the absence of signals in other related experiments, both at low and at high energies. By extending and making more precise the content of Ref. [1], we describe one such attempt based on the Pati-Salam SU(4) group, that unifies colour and the $B$-$L$ charge, in the context of a new strongly interacting sector, equally responsible for producing a pseudo-Goldstone Higgs boson.
The current experimental values of anomalous magnetic moments of muon and electron deviate from the Standard Model predictions by few standard deviations, which might be a hint of new physics. The sizes and signs of these deviations are different and opposite between the electron and muon, which makes it difficult to explain both of these anomalies in a consistent model without introducing large flavour-violating effects. It is shown that they can be simultaneously explained in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) by arranging the sizes of bino-slepton and chargino-sneutrino contri…
In the last few years, the ratios $R_{D^{(*)}}$ and of $R_{K^{(*)}}$ have reportedly exhibited significant deviations from the relevant Standard Model predictions, hinting towards a possible violation of Lepton Flavor Universality and a window to New Physics. We investigate to what extent the inclusion of R-parity violating couplings in the Minimal Supersymemtric Standard Model can provide a better fit to the anomalies simultaneously. We perform this analysis employing an approximate, non-abelian $\mathcal{G}_f=U(2)_q \times U(2)_\ell$ flavour symmetry, which features a natural explanation of …
The experimental observation of neutrino oscillations profoundly impacted the physics of neutrinos, from being well understood theoretically to requiring new physics beyond the standard model of particle physics. Indeed, the mystery of neutrino masses implies the presence of new particles never observed before, often called sterile neutrinos, as they would not undergo standard weak interactions. And while neutrino oscillation measurements entered the precision era, reaching percent-level precision, many experimental results show significant discrepancies with the standard model, at baselines m…
Baksan Experiment on Sterile Neutrino (BEST) is presently at the stage of production of the artificial neutrino source Cr-51, the gallium exposure will start in July and proceed for three months. While aiming specifically at investigating the Gallium neutrino anomaly (SAGE and GALLEX experiments), BEST can do more and it is tempting to estimate its ability in testing sterile neutrino explanation of antineutrino (reactor) anomalies. We observe a moderate sensitivity to the region in model parameter space (sterile neutrino mass and mixing with active electron neutrino) outlined by the old reacto…
With anomalies found in cosmic ray observations and unsolved questions of the Standard Model of particle physics like the discrepancy in the muon's anomalous magnetic moment, the idea of an U(1) extension of the Standard Model arose. This extension allows for the interaction of Dark Matter by exchange of a photon-like massive force carrier $A'$ not included in the Standard Model. We discuss the possibility to constrain the dark photon parameter space by using data taken from rare kaon decays. Therefore we analyze the decay $K\rightarrow μνA'$ as a signal process and calculate the expected Stan…
In recent years, significant experimental indications that point towards Lepton Flavour Universality violating effects in B-decays, involving $b \to c τν$ and $b \to s \ell^+ \ell^-$ have been accumulated. A possible New Physics explanation can be sought within the framework of R-parity violating Supersymmetry, which contains the necessary ingredients to explain the anomalies via both leptoquark, tree-level exchange and one-loop diagrams involving purely leptonic interactions. In addition, an approximate $U(2)^2$ flavour symmetry, that respects gauge coupling unification, successfully controls…
The direct searches for Beyond Standard Model (BSM) particles have been constraining their mass scale to the extent where it is now becoming consensual that such particles are likely to be above the energy reach of the LHC. Meanwhile, the studies of indirect probes of BSM physics, with all their diversity, have been progressing both in accurracy and in setting up observables with reduced theoretical uncertainties. The observation of flavour anomalies in $b$ hadron decays represents an important part of the program of indirect detection of BSM physics. Several benchmark analyses involving lepto…
Motivated by the long-standing tension in the muon anomalous magnetic moment (AMM) and persistent observations of B-physics anomalies in $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$ and $R_{K^{(\ast)}}$ ratios, we construct a simple two-loop radiative neutrino mass model, and propose a combined explanations of all these apparently disjoint phenomena within this framework. Our proposed model consists of two scalar leptoquarks (LQs), a $SU(2)_L$ singlet $S_1\sim (\overline{3},1,1/3)$ and a $SU(2)_L$ triplet $S_3\sim (\overline{3},3,1/3)$ to accommodate $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$ and $R_{K^{(\ast)}}$ anomalies, respectively. The muon…
We sketch a novel method to search for light di-leptonic resonances by exploiting precision measurements of Drell-Yan production. Motivated by the recent hints of lepton flavour universality violation in $B \to K^{\ast} \ell^+ \ell^-$, we illustrate our proposal by studying the case of spin-1 resonances that couple to muons and have masses in the range of a few GeV. We show that the existing LHC data on $pp \to Z/γ^\ast \to μ^+ μ^-$ put non-trivial constraints on light di-muon resonance interpretations of $B$ decay anomalies in a model-independent fashion. The impact of our proposal on the lon…
Motivated by additional experimental hints of Lepton Flavour Universality violation in B decays, both in charged- and in neutral-current processes, we analyse the ingredients necessary to provide a combined description of these phenomena. By means of an Effective Field Theory (EFT) approach, based on the hypothesis of New Physics coupled predominantly to the third generation of left-handed quarks and leptons, we show how this is possible. We demonstrate, in particular, how to solve the problems posed by electroweak precision tests and direct searches with a rather natural choice of model param…
Motivated by a simultaneous explanation of the apparent discrepancies in the light charged lepton anomalous magnetic dipole moments, and the anomalous internal pair creation in $^8$Be nuclear transitions, we explore a simple New Physics model, based on an extension of the Standard Model gauge group by a $U(1)_{B-L}$. The model further includes heavy vector-like fermion fields, as well as an extra scalar responsible for the low-scale breaking of $U(1)_{B-L}$, which gives rise to a light $Z^\prime$ boson. The new fields and currents allow to explain the anomalous internal pair creation in $^8$Be…
Motivated by the recent experimental progress on the $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$ and $R_{K^{(\ast)}}$ anomalies in $B$-decays, we consider an extension of the Standard Model by a single vector leptoquark field. We study how one can achieve the required lepton flavour non-universality, starting from a priori universal gauge couplings. While the unitary coupling flavour structure, induced by the mass misalignment of quarks and leptons after $SU(2)_L$ breaking, does not allow to comply with stringent bounds from lepton flavour violating processes, we find that effectively non-unitary couplings, due to mixin…
