Nonrelativistic Transport Theory from Vorticity Dependent Quantum Kinetic Equation

We study the three-dimensional transport theory of massive spin-1/2 fermions resulting from the vorticity dependent quantum kinetic equation. This quantum kinetic equation has been introduced to take account of noninertial properties of rotating coordinate frames. We show that it is the appropriate relativistic kinetic equation which provides the vorticity dependent semiclassical transport equations of the three-dimensional Wigner function components. Kinetics of parton- antiparton plasma vacuum creation in the time - dependent chromo - electric fields of arbitrary polarization

The kinetic equation of non - Markovian type for description of the vacuum creation of parton - antiparton pairs under action of a space homogeneous time - dependent chromo - electric field of the arbitrary polarization is obtained on the strict non - pertubative foundation in the framework of the oscillator representation. A comparison of the effectiveness of vacuum creation with the case of linear polarization one is fulfilled.

In this paper we introduce the axial gauge field to the framework of the quantum kinetic theory with vector gauge field in the massless limit. Treating axial-gauge field on an equal footing with the vector-gauge field, we construct a consistent solution to the kinetic equations up to the first order in gradient expansion or equivalently the semi-classical expansion. We derive the relativistic kinetic equation and collision kernel for dense gases of spin $0$ particles from quantum field theory based on the Wigner-function formalism. Neutrinos propagate in astrophysical and cosmological environments modifying their flavor in intriguing ways. The study of neutrino propagation in media is based on the mean-field, extended mean-field and Boltzmann equations. We summarise salient features of these evolution equations and the methods employed so far to derive them. We emphasize applications to situations of observational interest.

Nonequilibrium Quantum Field Kinetics

Using the general framework of nonequilibrium statistical mechanics for relativistic quantum field systems we derive the basic equations of quantum field kinetics. The main aim of the approach is calculation of observables associated with quark-gluon plasma which is out of thermal and chemical equilibrium. We show that in the regime of high rate of the phase and statistical mixing the perturbation theory for many-body quantum field system should have the form which much differs from the standard expansion in powers of coupling constant. Chiral anomaly and local polarization effect from quantum kinetic approach

A power expansion scheme is set up to determine the Wigner function that satisfies the quantum kinetic equation for spin-1/2 charged fermions in a background electromagnetic field. Vector and axial-vector current induced by magnetic field and vorticity are obtained simultaneously from the Wigner function. The chiral magnetic and vortical effect and chiral anomaly are shown as natural consequences of the quantum kinetic equation. The axial-vector current induced by vorticity is argued to lead to a local polarization effect along the vorticity direction in heavy-ion collisions.

Dynamical derivation of a quantum kinetic equation for particle production in the Schwinger mechanism

A quantum kinetic equation has been derived for the description of pair production in a time-dependent homogeneous electric field $E(t)$. As a source term, the Schwinger mechanism for particle creation is incorporated. Possible particle production due to collisions and collisional damping are neglected. The main result is a closed kinetic equation of the non-Markovian type. We solved the Quantum Kinetic Equations (QKEs) for an active-sterile neutrino system in the early universe. While on the surface this may seem to be an overly simplistic system, other linear two-state systems can be mapped onto the active-sterile system. In the early universe, we find that solutions to the QKEs are well described by an adiabatic approximation where the off-diagonal terms of the density operator are constant on short (oscillation and/or scattering) timescales, but may slowly evolve on long (expansion) timescales. Production of a sterile species is studied within an effective model of active-sterile neutrino mixing in a medium in thermal equilibrium.
