We revisit the holographic description of strange baryons in the context of the Sakai-Sugimoto construction, by considering the strange quark mass as heavy. Hyperons are described by a massive $(K,K^*)$ multiplet, bound to a light-flavor instanton in bulk, much in the spirit of the Callan-Klebanov construction. The modular Hamiltonian maps onto the Landau problem, a charged particle in a 2-dimensional external magnetic field, induced by the bulk Chern-Simons interaction, plus spin-orbit coupling. The ensuing holographic hyperon spectrum compares fairly with the empirical one. The holographic strange pentaquark baryon $Θ^+_s$ is shown to be unbound.
We study single-particle potential of hyperons in nuclear medium starting from QCD. First we carry out lattice QCD numerical simulation to extract baryon-baryon interactions from QCD by means of the HAL QCD method. We employ a full QCD gauge configuration ensemble at almost physical point so that hadron masses are nearly physical, e.g. pion mass is 146 MeV, kaon mass is 525 MeV, and nucleon mass is 956 MeV. Then, with some simplifications, we apply the obtained hyperon interactions to the Brueckner-Hartree-Fock theory and calculate single-particle potential of hyperons in nuclear medium $U_{Y}…
The quark parts of the gravitational form factors of hyperons are calculated by means of the light-cone QCD sum rule. In the calculations, the distribution amplitudes (DAs) of $Σ$, $Ξ$ and $Λ$ together with the general forms of their interpolating currents as well as the quark part of the energy-momentum tensor current are used. These form factors can provide information on their mass and distributions of the angular momentum, energy and pressure inside the hyperons. It is obtained that the $Q^2$ dependencies of the hyperon gravitational form factors are nicely characterized by a multipole fit…
Hyperon-nucleon interactions serve as basic inputs to studies of hypernuclear physics and dense (neutron) stars. Unfortunately, a precise understanding of these important quantities have lagged far behind that of the nucleon-nucleon interaction due to lack of high precision experimental data. Historically, hyperon-nucleon interactions are either formulated in quark models or meson exchange models. In recent years, lattice QCD simulations and chiral effective field theory approaches start to offer new insights from first principles. In the present work, we contrast the state of art lattice QCD …
We discuss the status of current dynamical lattice QCD simulations in connection to the emerging results on the strange and charmed baryon spectrum, excited states of the nucleon and the investigation of the structure of scalar mesons.
We calculate the isovector axial vector form factors of the octet-decuplet hyperon transitions within the framework of the light-cone QCD sum rules (LCSR) to leading in QCD and including higher-twist corrections. In particular, we motivate the most recent version of the $Σ$ baryon distribution amplitudes which are examined up to twist-6 based on conformal symmetry of the massless QCD Lagrangian.
Spin correlations of $Λ$-hyperons embedded in the QCD strings formed in high energy collider experiments provide unique insight into their locality and entanglement features. We show from general considerations that while the Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt inequality is less stringent for such states, they provide a benchmark for quantum-to-classical transitions induced by varying i) the associated hadron multiplicity, ii) the spin of nucleons, iii) the separation in rapidity between pairs, and iv) the kinematic regimes accessed. These studies also enable the extraction of quantitative measures of…
Light-cone QCD sum rules to leading order in QCD are used to investigate the tensor form factors of the $Σ-Σ$, $Ξ-Ξ$ and $ Σ-Λ$ transitions in the range $1 GeV^2 \leq Q^2 \leq 10 GeV^2$. The DAs of $Σ$, $Ξ$ and $Λ$ baryon have been calculated without higher order terms. Then, study including higher order corrections have been done for $Σ$ and $Λ$ baryon. The result of form factors are obtained using these two DAs. We make a comparison with the predictions of the chiral quark soliton model.
We study single-particle potential of Lambda, Sigma, and Xi hyperons in nucleonic matter starting from the fundamental theory of the strong interaction, QCD. First we carry out a lattice QCD numerical simulation, and extract baryon-baryon interactions from QCD by means of the HAL QCD method. We employ a full QCD gauge configuration ensemble at almost physical point so that we can study the physical world, hence mass of hadrons are nearly physical, for example, pion mass is 146 MeV, kaon mass is 525 MeV, and nucleon mass is 958 MeV. Then, we apply the obtained hyperon interactions to the Brueck…
Color transparency, the reduction of initial- or final-state interactions in coherent nuclear processes, is a natural prediction of QCD provided that small-sized or point-like configurations (PLCs) are responsible for high-momentum transfer, high-energy, semi-exclusive processes. I use the FMS criteria for the existence of PLCs to show that the wave functions of light front holographic QCD, as currently formulated, do not contain a PLC.

We present the first continuum extrapolation of the hyperon octet axial couplings ($g_{ΣΣ}$ and $g_{ΞΞ}$) from $N_f=2+1+1$ lattice QCD. These couplings are important parameters in the low-energy effective field theory description of the octet baryons and fundamental to the nonleptonic decays of hyperons and to hyperon-hyperon and hyperon-nucleon scattering with application to neutron stars. We use clover lattice fermion action for the valence quarks with sea quarks coming from configurations of $N_f=2+1+1$ highly improved staggered quarks (HISQ) generated by MILC Collaboration. Our work includ…
We study the spectrum of light baryons and hyperons as a function of temperature using lattice gauge theory methods. We find that masses of positive parity states are temperature independent, within errors, in the hadronic phase. The negative parity states decrease in mass as the temperature increases. Above the deconfining temperature, lattice correlators and spectral functions show a degeneracy between parity sectors, i.e. parity doubling. We apply our findings to an in-medium Hadron Resonance Gas model. The techniques used in this study include direct analysis of the hadronic correlation fu…
The hadron resonance gas (HRG) is a widely used description of matter under extreme conditions, e.g. in the context of heavy-ion phenomenology. Commonly used implementations of the HRG employ vacuum hadron masses throughout the hadronic phase and hence do not include possible in-medium effects. Here we investigate this issue, using nonperturbative lattice simulations employing the FASTSUM anisotropic Nf=2+1 ensembles. We study the fate of octet and decuplet baryons as the temperature increases, focussing in particular on the positive- and negative-parity groundstates. While the positive-parity…
The holographic light-front QCD framework provides a unified nonperturbative description of the hadron mass spectrum, form factors and quark distributions. In this article we extend holographic QCD in order to describe the gluonic distribution in both the proton and pion from the coupling of the metric fluctuations induced by the spin-two Pomeron with the energy momentum tensor in anti--de Sitter space, together with constraints imposed by the Veneziano model{\color{blue},} without additional free parameters. The gluonic and quark distributions are shown to have significantly different effecti…
We discuss our results on scalar glueball decay in the top-down holographic Witten-Sakai-Sugimoto model for low-energy QCD and compare with available experimental data, which appear to disfavor the glueball candidate $f_0(1500)$ but seem to be perfectly consistent with interpreting $f_0(1710)$ as a nearly unmixed glueball. The holographic model moreover makes definite predictions for future experiments.
We study the production of polarized $Λ$-hyperons in electron-positron annihilation. We are particularly interested in the transverse-spin dependence of the cross section for unpolarized incident electron-positron pairs. At high energies this process may be described in the collinear twist-3 framework, where the hadronization transition of partons into a transversely polarized $Λ$-hyperon can be written in terms of collinear twist-3 fragmentation matrix elements. We calculate the hard partonic cross sections and interference terms in perturbative QCD to next-to-leading order accuracy. We find …
Second-order susceptibilities $χ^{11}_{ij}$ of baryon, electric, and strangeness, $B$, $Q$, and $S$, charges, are calculated in the Chiral Mean Field (CMF) model and compared to available lattice QCD data. The susceptibilities are sensitive to the short range repulsive interactions between different hadron species, especially to the hardcore repulsion of hyperons. Decreasing the hyperons size, as compared to the size of the non-strange baryons, does improve significantly the agreement of the CMF model results with the Lattice QCD data. The electric charge-dependent susceptibilities are sensiti…
The nuclear density dependencies of the neutron and $Σ$ and $Λ$ hyperons are important inputs in the determination of the neutron star mass as the appearance of hyperons coming from strong attractions significantly changes the stiffness of the equation of state (EOS) at iso-spin asymmetric dense nuclear matter. In-medium spectral sum rules have been analyzed for the nucleon, $Σ$, and $Λ$ hyperon to investigate their properties up to slightly above the saturation nuclear matter density by using the linear density approximation for the condensates. The construction scheme of the interpolating fi…
In this paper we show that the intrinsic heavy-quark QCD mechanism for the hadroproduction of heavy hadrons at large $x_F$ can resolve the apparent conflict between measurements of double-charm baryons by the SELEX fixed-target experiment and the LHCb experiment at the LHC collider. We show that both experiments are compatible, and that both results can be correct. The observed spectroscopy of double-charm hadrons is in agreement with the predictions of supersymmetric light front holographic QCD.
We develop a dynamical holographic QCD model, which resembles the renormalization group from ultraviolet (UV) to infrared (IR). The dynamical holographic model is constructed in the graviton-dilaton-scalar framework with the dilaton background field $Φ$ and scalar field $X$ responsible for the gluodynamics and chiral dynamics, respectively. We summarize our results on hadron spectra, QCD phase transition and transport properties including the jet quenching parameter and the shear/bulk viscosity in the framework of the dynamical holographic QCD model.
Thermodynamics of strongly interacting matter near critical end point are investigated in a holographic QCD model, which could describe the QCD phase diagram in $T-μ$ plane qualitatively. Critical exponents along different axis ($α,β,γ,δ$) are extracted numerically. It is given that $α\approx 0, β\approx 0.54, γ\approx 1.04, δ\approx 3.0$, the same as 3D Ising mean-field approximation and previous holographic QCD model calculations. We also discuss the possibilities to go beyond mean field approximation by including the full back-reaction of chiral dynamics in the holographic framework.
The aim of these lectures is to convey a working knowledge of Light Front Holographic QCD and Supersymmetric Light Front Holographic QCD. We first give an overview of holographic QCD in general and then concentrate on the application of the holographic methods on QCD quantized in the light front form. We show how the implementation of the supersymmetric algebra fixes the interaction and how one can obtain hadron mass spectra with the minimal number of parameters. We also treat propagators and compare the holographic approach with other non-perturbative methods. In the last chapter we describe …
We introduce the 5-dimension dynamical holographic QCD model, which is constructed in the graviton-dilaton-scalar framework with the dilaton background field $Φ$ and the scalar field $X$ responsible for the gluodynamics and chiral dynamics, respectively. We review our results on the hadron spectra including the glueball and light meson spectra, QCD phase transitions and transport properties in the framework of the dynamical holographic QCD model.
The AdS/QCD holographic wave function of basis light-front quantization (BLFQ) for vector meson $J/ψ$ is applied in this manuscript. The exclusive production of $J/ψ$ in diffractive process is computed in dipole model with AdS/QCD holographic wave function. We use IP-Sat and IIM model in the calculation of the differential cross section of the dipole scattering off the proton. The prediction of AdS/QCD holographic wave function in BLFQ gives a good agreement to the experimental data.
