Let $M = Γ\backslash G$ be a nilmanifold endowed with an invariant complex structure. We prove that Kuranishi deformations of abelian complex structures are all invariant complex structures, generalizing a result of C. Maclaughlin, H. Pedersen, Y.S. Poon and S. We develop deformation theory for abelian invariant complex structures on a nilmanifold, and prove that in this case the invariance property is preserved by the Kuranishi process. A purely algebraic condition characterizes the deformations leading again to abelian structures, and we prove that such deformations are unobstructed. Various examples illustrate the resulting theory, and the behavior possible in 3 complex dimensions.
In this paper we generalize the Deuring theorem on a reduction of elliptic curve with complex multiplication. More precisely, for an Abelian variety $A$, arising after reduction of an Abelian variety with complex multiplication by a CM field $K$ over a number field at a pace of good reduction. We establish a connection between a decomposition of the first truncated Barsotti-Tate group scheme $A[p]$ and a decomposition of $p\cO_{K}$ into prime ideals. In particular, we produce these explicit relationships for Abelian varieties of dimensions $1, 2$ and 3.
We present a non-abelian generalization of Witten monopole equations and we analyze the associated moduli problem, which can be regarded as a generalization of Donaldson theory. The moduli space of solutions for SU(2) monopoles on Kähler manifolds is discussed. The Kuga-Satake construction associates to a K3 type polarized weight 2 Hodge structure H an abelian variety A such that H is a quotient Hodge structure of H^2(A). The first step is to consider the Clifford algebra of H. It turns out that it is endowed with a weight 2 Hodge structure compatible with the algebra structure. We show more generally that a weight 2 polarized Hodge structure which carries a compatible (unitary, associative) algebra structure is a quotient of the H^2 of an abelian variety.

In this paper we study abelian varieties which correspond to CM points in the coarse moduli space of principally polarized abelian varieties with multiplication by a maximal order in a quaternion algebra over a totally real number field.
