We study a time-inhomogeneous SDE in $\R^d$ driven by a cylindrical Lévy process with independent coordinates which may have different scaling properties. Such a structure of the driving noise makes it strongly spatially inhomogeneous and complicates the analysis of the model significantly. We prove that the weak solution to the SDE is uniquely defined, is Markov, and has the strong Feller property. The heat kernel of the process is presented as a combination of an explicit `principal part' and a `residual part', subject to certain $L^\infty(dx)\otimes L^1(dy)$ and $L^\infty(dx)\otimes L^\infty(dy)$-estimates showing that this part is negligible in a short time, in a sense. The main tool of the construction is the analytic parametrix method, specially adapted to Lévy-type generators with strong spatial inhomogeneities.
In this paper we study time-inhomogeneous versions of one-dimensional Stochastic Differential Equations (SDE) involving the Local Time of the unknown process on curves. After proving existence and uniqueness for these SDE under mild assumptions, we explore their link with Parabolic Differential Equations (PDE) with transmission conditions. We study the regularity of solutions of such PDE and ensure the validity of a Feynman-Kac representation formula. These results are then used to characterize the solutions of these SDE as time-inhomogeneous Markov Feller processes.
We study SDE $$ d X_t = b(X_t) \, dt + A(X_{t-}) \, d Z_t, \quad X_{0} = x \in \mathbb{R}^d, \quad t \geq 0 $$ where $Z=(Z^1, \dots, Z^d)^T$, with $Z^i, i=1,\dots, d$ being independent one-dimensional symmetric jump Lévy processes, not necessarily identically distributed. In particular, we cover the case when each $Z^i$ is one-dimensional symmetric $α_i$-stable process ($α_i \in (0,2)$ and they are not necessarily equal). Under certain assumptions on $b$, $A$ and $Z$ we show that the weak solution to the SDE is uniquely defined and Markov, we provide a representation of the transition probabil…
In this paper we study the existence of densities for strongly degenerate stochastic differential equations (SDEs) whose coefficients depend on time and are not globally Lipschitz. In these models neither local ellipticity nor the strong Hörmander condition is satisfied. In this general setting we show that continuous transition densities indeed exist in all neighborhoods of points where the weak Hörmander condition is satisfied. We also exhibit regions where these densities remain positive. We then apply these results to stochastic Hodgkin-Huxley models with periodic input as a first step tow…

We prove the unique weak solvability of stochastic differential equations with time-inhomogeneous drift in essentially the largest (scaling-invariant) Morrey class, i.e.\,with integrability parameter $q>1$ close to $1$. The constructed weak solutions constitute a Feller evolution family. The proofs are based on a detailed Sobolev regularity theory of the corresponding parabolic equation.

The paper investigates existence and uniqueness for a stochastic differential equation (SDE) with distributional drift depending on the law density of the solution. Those equations are known as McKean SDEs. The McKean SDE is interpreted in the sense of a suitable singular martingale problem. A key tool used in the investigation is the study of the corresponding Fokker-Planck equation.
We study multiplicative SDEs perturbed by an additive fractional Brownian motion on another probability space. Provided the Hurst parameter is chosen in a specified regime, we establish existence of probabilistically weak solutions to the SDE if the measurable diffusion coefficient merely satisfies an integrability condition. In particular, this allows to consider certain singular diffusion coefficients.
The Bismut formula is established for the intrinsic derivative of singular McKean-Vlasov SDEs, where the noise coefficient belongs to a local Sobolev space, and the drift contains a locally integrable time-space term as well as a time-space-distribution term Lipschitz continuous in the space and distribution variables. The results are new also for classical SDEs.
We solve the Skorokhod embedding problem for a class of stochastic processes satisfying an inhomogeneous stochastic differential equation (SDE) of the form $d A_t =μ(t, A_t) d t + σ(t, A_t) d W_t$. We provide sufficient conditions guaranteeing that for a given probability measure $ν$ on $\mathbb{R}$ there exists a bounded stopping time $τ$ and a real $a$ such that the solution $(A_t)$ of the SDE with initial value $a$ satisfies $A_τ\sim ν$. We hereby distinguish the cases where $(A_t)$ is a solution of the SDE in a weak or strong sense. Our construction of embedding stopping times is based on …
We study stochastic differential equations (SDEs) with multiplicative Stratonovich-type noise of the form $ dX_t = b(X_t) dt + σ(X_t)\circ d W_t, X_0=x_0\in\mathbb{R}^d, t\geq0,$ with a possibly singular drift $b\in L^{p}(\mathbb{R}^d)$, $p>d$ and $p\geq 2$, and show that such SDEs can be approximated by random ordinary differential equations by smoothing the noise and the singular drift at the same time. We further prove a support theorem for this class of SDEs in a rather simple way using the Girsanov theorem.
We study the long time behaviour of a large class of diffusion processes on $R^N$, generated by second order differential operators of (possibly) degenerate type. The operators that we consider {\em need not} satisfy the Hörmander condition. Instead, they satisfy the so-called UFG condition, introduced by Herman, Lobry and Sussman in the context of geometric control theory and later by Kusuoka and Stroock, this time with probabilistic motivations. In this paper we study UFG diffusions and demonstrate the importance of such a class of processes in several respects: roughly speaking i) we show t…
By using Zvonkin's transformation and a two-step fixed point argument in distributions, the well-posedness and regularity estimates are derived for singular McKean-Vlasov SDEs with distribution dependent noise, where the drift contains a term growing linearly in space and distribution and a locally integrable term independent of distribution, while the noise coefficient is weakly differentiable in space and Lipschitz continuous in distribution with respect to the sum of Wasserstein and weighted variation distances. The main results extend existing ones derived for noise coefficients either ind…
In this paper, we investigate the weak convergence rate of Euler-Maruyama's approximation for stochastic differential equations with irregular drifts. Explicit weak convergence rates are presented if drifts satisfy an integrability condition including discontinuous functions which can be non-piecewise continuous or in fractional Sobolev space.
Consider the following distribution dependent SDE: $$ {\mathrm d} X_t=σ_t(X_t,μ_{X_t}){\mathrm d} W_t+b_t(X_t,μ_{X_t}){\mathrm d} t, $$ where $μ_{X_t}$ stands for the distribution of $X_t$. In this paper for non-degenerate $σ$, we show the strong well-posedness of the above SDE under some integrability assumptions in the spatial variable and Lipschitz continuity in $μ$ about $b$ and $σ$. In particular, we extend the results of Krylov-Röckner \cite{Kr-Ro} to the distribution dependent case.
In this paper we present a Doob type maximal inequality for stochastic processes satisfying the conditional increment control condition. If we assume, in addition, that the margins of the process have uniform exponential tail decay, we prove that the supremum of the process decays exponentially in the same manner. Then we apply this result to the construction of the almost everywhere stochastic flow to stochastic differential equations with singular time dependent divergence-free drift.
In this paper we derive a Bismut-Elworthy-Li type formula with respect to strong solutions to singular stochastic differential equations (SDE's) with additive noise given by a multi-dimensional fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $H<1/2$. "Singular" here means that the drift vector field of such equations is allowed to be merely bounded and integrable. As an application we use this representation formula for the study of price sensitivities of financial claims based on a stock price model with stochastic volatility, whose dynamics is described by means of fractional Brownian motion…
In this paper, we prove the existence and uniqueness of maximally defined strong solutions to SDEs driven by multiplicative noise on general space-time domains $Q\subset\mathbb{R}_+\times\mathbb{R}^d$, which have continuous paths on the one-point compactification $Q\cup\partial$ of $Q$ where $\partial \notin Q$ and $Q\cup\partial$ is equipped with the Alexandrov topology. If the SDE is of gradient type (see (2.5) below) we prove that under suitable Lyapunov type conditions the life time of the solution is infinite and its distribution has sub-Gaussian tails. This generalizes earlier work \cite…
We prove that the weak solution of a uniformly elliptic stochastic differential equation with locally smooth diffusion coefficient and Hölder continuous drift has a Hölder continuous density function. This result complements recent results of Fournier-Printems \cite{F1}, where the density is shown to exist if both coefficients are Hölder continuous and exemplifies the role of the drift coefficient in the regularity of the density of a diffusion.
In this paper we present a new method for the construction of strong solutions of SDE's with merely integrable drift coefficients driven by a multidimensional fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter H < 1/2. Furthermore, we prove the rather surprising result of the higher order Frechet differentiability of stochastic flows of such SDE's in the case of a small Hurst parameter. In establishing these results we use techniques from Malliavin calculus combined with new ideas based on a "local time variational calculus". We expect that our general approach can be also applied to the study of…
We study existence and uniqueness of solution for stochastic differential equations with distributional drift by giving a meaning to the Stroock-Varadhan martingale problem associated such equations. The approach we exploit is the one of paracontrolled distributions introduced in [13]. As a result we make sense of the three dimensional polymer measure with white noise potential.
We propose a new type SDE depending on the future distributions with all initial values, and establish the correspondence between this equation and the associated singular nonlinear PDE. Well-posedness and regularities are investigated.
In this work we firstly prove the well-posedness of the non-linear martingale problem related to a McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equation with singular interaction kernel in $\mathbb{R}^d$ for $d\geq 3$. The particularity of our setting is that the McKean-Vlasov process we study interacts at each time with all its past time marginal laws by means of a singular space-time kernel. Secondly, we prove that our stochastic process is a probabilistic interpretation for the parabolic-parabolic Keller-Segel system in $\mathbb{R}^d$. We thus obtain a well-posedness result to the latter under exp…
We consider a process given as the solution of a stochastic differential equation with irregular, path dependent and time-inhomogeneous drift coefficient and additive noise. Explicit and optimal bounds for the Lebesgue density of that process at any given time are derived. The bounds and their optimality is shown by identifying the worst case stochastic differential equation. Then we generalise our findings to a larger class of diffusion coefficients.
We show the strong well-posedness of SDEs driven by general multiplicative Lévy noises with Sobolev diffusion and jump coefficients and integrable drift. Moreover, we also study the strong Feller property, irreducibility as well as the exponential ergodicity of the corresponding semigroup when the coefficients are time-independent and singular dissipative. In particular, the large jump is allowed in the equation. To achieve our main results, we present a general approach for treating the SDEs with jumps and singular coefficients so that one just needs to focus on Krylov's {\it apriori} estimat…
In this paper we introduce a new technique to construct unique strong solutions of SDEs with singular coefficients driven by certain Levy processes. Our method which is based on Malliavin calculus does not rely on a pathwise uniqueness argument. Furthermore, the approach, which provides a direct construction principle, grants the additional insight that the obtained solutions are Malliavin differentiable.
Let $d \ge 2$. In this paper, we study weak solutions for the following type of stochastic differential equation \[ dX_{t}=dS_{t}+b(s+t, X_{t})dt, \quad X_{0}=x, \] where $(s,x)\in \mathbb{R}_+ \times \mathbb{R}^{d}$ is the initial starting point, $b: \mathbb{R}_+ \times \mathbb{R}^{d} \to \mathbb{R}^{d}$ is measurable, and $S=(S_{t})_{t \ge 0}$ is a $d$-dimensional $α$-stable process with index $α\in (1,2)$. We show that if the $α$-stable process $S$ is non-degenerate and $b \in L_{loc}^{\infty}(\mathbb{R}_{+};L^{\infty}(\mathbb{R}^{d}))+ L_{loc}^{q}(\mathbb{R}_{+};L^{p}(\mathbb{R}^{d}))$ for…
In this paper we consider the Itô SDE $$d X_t=d W_t+b(t,X_t)\,d t, \quad X_0=x\in {\mathbb R}^d,$$ where $W_t$ is a $d$-dimensional standard Wiener process and the drift coefficient $b:[0,T]\times{\mathbb R}^d\to{\mathbb R}^d$ belongs to $L^q(0,T;L^p({\mathbb R}^d))$ with $p\geq 2, q>2$ and $\frac dp +\frac 2q<1$. In 2005, Krylov and Röckner \cite{KR05} proved that the above equation has a unique strong solution $X_t$. Recently it was shown by Fedrizzi and Flandoli \cite{FF13b} that the solution $X_t$ is indeed a stochastic flow of homeomorphisms on ${\mathbb R}^d$. We prove in the present wor…
To characterize nonlinear Dirichlet problems in an open domain, we investigate killed distribution dependent SDEs. By constructing the coupling by projection and using the Zvonkin/Girsanov transforms, the well-posedness is proved for three different situations: 1) monotone case with distribution dependent noise (possibly degenerate), 2) singular case with non-degenerate distribution dependent noise, and 3) singular case with non-degenerate distribution independent noise. In the first two cases the domain is $C^2$ smooth such that the Lipschitz continuity in initial distributions is also derive…
We prove the existence and uniqueness of a strong solution for an SDE on a semi-axis with singularities at the point 0. The result obtained yields, for example, the strong uniqueness of non-negative solutions to SDEs governing Bessel processes.
We study the approximation of the ergodic measure of the following stochastic differential equation (SDE) on $\mathbb{R}^d$: \begin{eqnarray}\label{e:SDEE} d X_t &=& (b_1(X_t)+b_2(X_t)) d t+σ(X_t) d W_t, \end{eqnarray} where $W_t$ is a $d$-dimensional standard Brownian motion, and $b_1: \mathbb{R}^d \mapsto \mathbb{R}^d$, $b_2: \mathbb{R}^d \mapsto \mathbb{R}^d$ and $σ: \mathbb{R}^d \mapsto \mathbb{R}^{d\times d}$ are the functions to be specified in Assumption 2.1 below. In particular, $b_1$ satisfies $b_1\in \mathbb{L}^\infty(\mathbb{R}^d)\cap \mathbb{L}^1(\mathbb{R}^d)$ or $b_1 \in \mathcal…

We show the existence and uniqueness of strong solutions for stochastic differential equation driven by partial $α$-stable noise and partial Brownian noise with singular coefficients. The proof is based on the regularity of degenerate mixed type Kolmogorov equation.
