Recently, the Muon g-2 experiment at Fermilab has measured the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment (MDM), $a_μ=(g_μ-2)/2$, which reported that the new experimental average increases the tension between experiment and the standard model (SM) prediction to 4.2$σ$. In this work, we reanalyse the muon anomalous MDM at two-loop level in the $μ$ from $ν$ Supersymmetric Standard Model ($μν$SSM) combined with the updated experimental average. The $μν$SSM can explain the current tension between the experimental measurement and the SM theoretical prediction for the muon anomalous MDM, constrained by the 125 GeV Higgs boson mass and decays, the rare decay $\bar{B}\rightarrow X_sγ$ and so on. We also investigate the anomalous MDM of the electron and tau lepton, $a_e=(g_e-2)/2$ and $a_τ=(g_τ-2)/2$, at two-loop level in the $μν$SSM. In addition, the 125 GeV Higgs boson decays to a pair of charged leptons in the $μν$SSM are also analysed.
Within framework of the $μ$ from $ν$ Supersymmetric Standard Model ($μν$SSM), three exotic right-handed neutrino superfields induce new sources for lepton-flavor violation. In this work, we investigate muon conversion to electron in nuclei within the $μν$SSM in detail. With a 125 GeV Higgs, the numerical results indicate that the $μ-e$ conversion rates in nuclei within the $μν$SSM can reach the experimental upper bound, which could be detected with the future experimental sensitivities.
Recently, the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations measured the 125 GeV Higgs boson decay to a pair of muons $h\rightarrow μ\barμ$, which reported the signal strength relative to the standard model (SM) prediction is $1.2\pm0.6$ and $1.19^{+0.40+0.15}_{-0.39-0.14}$, respectively. In this work, we investigate the 125 GeV Higgs boson decay $h\rightarrow μ\barμ$ at one-loop level in the $μ$ from $ν$ Supersymmetric Standard Model ($μν$SSM). Compared to the SM prediction, the decay width of $h\rightarrow μ\barμ$ in the $μν$SSM can boost up about 10\%, considering the constraint from the muon anomalous magn…
We analyze the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon $g-2$ in the $μν$SSM. This $R$-parity violating model solves the $μ$ problem reproducing simultaneously neutrino data, only with the addition of right-handed neutrinos. In the framework of the $μν$SSM, light left muon-sneutrino and wino masses can be naturally obtained driven by neutrino physics. This produces an increase of the dominant chargino-sneutrino loop contribution to muon $g-2$, solving the gap between the theoretical computation and the experimental data. To analyze the parameter space, we sample the $μν$SSM using a likelihood dat…
The MSSM is extended to the $U(1)_X$SSM, whose local gauge group is $SU(3)_C \times SU(2)_L \times U(1)_Y \times U(1)_X$. To obtain the $U(1)_X$SSM, we add the new superfields to the MSSM, namely: three Higgs singlets $\hatη,~\hat{\barη},~\hat{S}$ and right-handed neutrinos $\hatν_i$. It can give light neutrino tiny mass at the tree level through the seesaw mechanism. The study of the contribution of the two-loop diagrams to the MDM of muon under $U(1)_X$SSM provides the possibility for us to search for new physics. In the analytical calculation of the loop diagrams (one-loop and two-loop diag…
In a few years, the COMET experiment at J-PARC and the Mu2e experiment at Fermilab will probe the $μ-e$ conversion rate in the vicinity of $\mathcal{O}(10^{-17})$ for an Al target with high experimental sensitivity. Within the framework of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model with local $B-L$ gauge symmetry (B-LSSM), we analyze the lepton flavor violating (LFV) process of $μ-e$ conversion in nuclei. Considering the constraint of the experimental upper limit of the LFV rare decay $μ\rightarrow eγ$, the $μ-e$ conversion rates in nuclei within the B-LSSM can achieve $\mathca…
To solve the $μ$ problem and generate three tiny neutrino masses in the MSSM, the $μ$ from $ν$ Supersymmetric Standard Model ($μν$SSM) introduces three singlet right-handed neutrino superfields, which lead to the mixing of the Higgs doublets with the sneutrinos. The mixing affects the lightest Higgs boson mass and the Higgs couplings. The present observed 95\% CL upper limit on signal strength of the 125 GeV Higgs boson decay $h\rightarrow Zγ$ is 6.6, which still is plenty of space to prove the existence of new physics. In this work, we investigate the signal strength of the 125 GeV Higgs boso…
The new experiment data of muon g-2 is reported by the workers at Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory(FNAL). Combined with the previous Brookhaven National Laboratory(BNL) E821 result, the departure from the standard model prediction is about 4.2 $σ$. It strengthens our faith in the new physics. $U(1)_X$SSM is the U(1) extension of the minimal supersymmetric standard model, where we study the electroweak corrections to the anomalous magnetic dipole moment of muon from the one-loop diagrams and some two-loop diagrams possessing important contributions. These two-loop diagrams include Barr-…
We study and analyze the electric dipole moments (EDMs) of neutron and heavy quarks c, t in a CP-violating (CPV) supersymmetric U(1) extension of the standard model called $U(1)_X$SSM, whose local gauge group is $U(1)_X\times SU(3)_C\times SU(2)_L \times U(1)_Y$. The contributions from the one loop diagrams and the Weinberg operators are taken into account with the new introduced CPV phases beyond the minimum supersymmetric standard model(MSSM) being non-zero. Our numerical results show that in $U(1)_X$SSM the neutron EDM can be smaller than its experimental upper bound $1.8\times10^{-26}$ e$\…
The $μν$SSM is a highly predictive alternative model to the MSSM. In particular, the electroweak sector of the model can explain the longstanding discrepancy between the experimental result for the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, $(g-2)_μ$, and its Standard Model prediction, while being in agreement with all other theoretical and experimental constraints. The recently published MUON G-2 result is within $0.8\,σ$ in agreement with the older BNL result on $(g-2)_μ$. The combined result was announced as $a_μ^{\rm exp} = (11659206.1 \pm 4.1) \times 10^{-10}$, yielding a new deviation from t…
We examine the prospects for discovering new physics through muon dipole moments. The current deviation in $g_μ-2$ may be due entirely to the muon's {\em electric} dipole moment. We note that the precession frequency in the proposed BNL muon EDM experiment is also subject to a similar ambiguity, but this can be resolved by up-down asymmetry measurements. We then review the theoretical expectations for the muon's electric dipole moment in supersymmetric models.
We study the prospects and opportunities of a large muon electric dipole moment (EDM) of the order (10^{-24} - 10^{-22}) ecm. We investigate how natural such a value is within the general minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model with CP violation from lepton flavor violation in view of the experimental constraints. In models with hybrid gauge-gravity mediated supersymmetry breaking a large muon EDM is indicative for the structure of flavor breaking at the Planck scale, and points towards a high messenger scale.
In the supersymmetric standard model (SSM) the $W$-boson could have a non-vanishing electric dipole moment (EDM) through a one-loop diagram mediated by the charginos and neutralinos. Then the $W$-boson EDM induces the EDMs of the neutron and the electron. We discuss these EDMs, taking into consideration the constraints from the neutron and electron EDMs at one-loop level induced by the charginos and squarks or sleptons. It is shown that the neutron and the electron could respectively have EDMs of order of $10^{-26}e$cm and $10^{-27}e$cm, solely owing to the $W$-boson EDM. Since these EDMs do n…
Electric dipole moments (EDMs) of elementary particles are powerful probes of new physics with flavor-diagonal CP violation. The reported discrepancy in the muon anomalous magnetic moment motivates us to explore to what extent new physics with flavor-diagonal CP violation to address the discrepancy is probed by searches for the muon EDM. As a benchmark, we focus on a CP-violating two-Higgs-doublet model to explain the muon $g-2$ anomaly where the muon exclusively couples to one Higgs doublet. Since contributions to flavor violating processes as well as the electron EDM are suppressed, the muon…
The presence of a permanent electric dipole moment in an elementary particle implies Charge-Parity symmetry violation and thus could help explain the matter-antimatter asymmetry observed in our universe. Within the context of the Standard Model, the electric dipole moment of elementary particles is extremely small. However, many Standard Model extensions such as supersymmetry predict large electric dipole moments. Recently, the muon electric dipole moment has become a topic of particular interest due to the tensions in the magnetic anomaly of the muon and the electron, and hints of lepton-flav…
If the technology for muon storage rings one day permits sensitivity to precession at the order of $10^{-8}$ Hz, the local gravitational field of Earth can be a dominant contribution to the precession of the muon, which, if ignored, can fake the signal for a nonzero muon electric dipole moment (EDM). Specifically, the effects of Earth's gravity on the motion of a muon's spin is indistinguishable from it having a nonzero EDM of magnitude $d_μ\sim 10^{-29}$ e cm in a storage ring with vertical magnetic field of $\sim$ 1 T, which is significantly larger than the expected upper limit in the Standa…
The electric dipole moments (EDMs) of the neutron and the electron are reviewed within the framework of the supersymmetric standard model (SSM) based on grand unified theories coupled to N=1 supergravity. Taking into account one-loop and two-loop contributions to the EDMs, we explore SSM parameter space consistent with experiments and discuss predicted values for the EDMs. Implications of baryon asymmetry of our universe for the EDMs are also discussed.
Charged lepton flavor violating processes are forbidden in the standard model (SM), hence the observation of charged lepton flavor transitions would represent a clear signal of new physics beyond the standard Model. In this work, we investigate some lepton flavor violating processes in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the SM with local $B-L$ gauge symmetry (B-LSSM). And including the corrections from some two loop diagrams to the anomalous dipole moments (MDM) of muon, we discuss the corresponding constraint on the relevant parameter space of the model. Considering the constraints from …
We examine the muon's electric dipole moment $\dmu$ from a variety of theoretical perspectives. We point out that the reported deviation in the muon's g-2 can be due partially or even entirely to a new physics contribution to the muon's {\em electric} dipole moment. In fact, the recent g-2 measurement provides the most stringent bound on $\dmu$ to date. This ambiguity could be definitively resolved by the dedicated search for $\dmu$ recently proposed. We then consider both model-independent and supersymmetric frameworks. Under the assumptions of scalar degeneracy, proportionality, and flavor c…
We study the possibility to determine the supersymmetric (SUSY) contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment by using ILC measurements of the properties of superparticles. Assuming that the contribution is as large as the current discrepancy between the result of the Brookhaven E821 experiment and the standard-model prediction, we discuss how and how accurately the SUSY contribution can be reconstructed. We will show that, in a sample point, the reconstruction can be performed with the accuracy of ~ 13 % with the center-of-mass energy 500 GeV and the integrated luminosity ~ 500-10…
Recently, the CMS and ATLAS Collaborations have reported direct searches for the 125 GeV Higgs decay with lepton flavor violation, $h\rightarrow μτ$. In this work, we analyze the signal of the lepton flavour violating (LFV) Higgs decay $h\rightarrow μτ$ in the $μ$ from $ν$ Supersymmetric Standard Model ($μν$SSM) with slepton flavor mixing. Simultaneously, we consider the constraints from the LFV decay $τ\rightarrow μγ$, the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment and the lightest Higgs mass around 125 GeV.
We show that any new interaction resulting in a chirally-enhanced contribution to the muon magnetic moment necessarily modifies the decay rate of the Higgs boson to muon pairs or generates the muon electric dipole moment. These three observables are highly correlated, and near future measurements of $h\to μ^+μ^-$ will carve an ellipse in the plane of dipole moments for any such model. Together with the future measurements of the electric dipole moment many models able to explain the muon g-2 anomaly can be efficiently tested.
The Fermi-Lab Collaboration has announced the results for the measurement of muon anomalous magnetic moment. Combining with the previous results by the BNL experiment, we have $4.2 σ$ deviation from the Standard Model (SM), which strongly implies the new physics around 1 TeV. To explain the muon anomalous magnetic moment naturally, we analyze the corresponding five Feynman diagrams in the Supersymetric SMs (SSMs), and show that the Electroweak Supersymmetry (EWSUSY) is definitely needed. We realize the EWSUSY in the Minimal SSM (MSSM) with Genernalized Mininal Supergravity (GmSUGRA). We find l…
Recent results announced as measurements of the muon's anomalous magnetic moment are in fact measurements of the muon's anomalous spin precession frequency. This precession frequency receives contributions from both the muon's anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments. We note that all existing data cannot resolve this ambiguity, and the current deviation from standard model predictions may equally well be interpreted as evidence for new physics in the muon's anomalous magnetic moment, new physics in the muon's electric dipole moment, or both.

In the context of supersymmetry, the two-loop Barr-Zee diagrams which induce CP-violating electric dipole moment of electron due to superpartners simultaneously yield CP-conserving magnetic dipole moment of muon. In this paper, we derive the coherence between the electric and magnetic dipole moments at two-loop level due to stops, charginos or neutralinos-charginos. We also use the coherence to constrain superpartner masses and their CP-violating phases, in the light of recent ACME limit on the electric dipole moment of electron and future experiments about magnetic dipole moment of muon such …
We calculate the effect of magnetic fields on the magnetic dipole moment of leptons up to the quadratic order in the magnetic field, including the QCD contributions. Since the leading contribution, which is linear in the magnetic field, depends on the spin, its effect is not measurable directly in the Penning trap experiment for the electron dipole moment. In the muon anomaly, however, we find that the electrons decayed from muons are refracted linearly in the magnetic field. This effect, though quite small, changes the distribution of the detected electrons in the muon $g-2$ experiment and co…
We study baryogenesis at the electroweak phase transition of the universe within the framework of the supersymmetric standard model (SSM) based on N=1 supergravity. This model contains a new source of CP violation in the mass-squared matrices for squarks, which could enable $t$ squarks to mediate the charge transport mechanism for generating baryon asymmetry. The same CP-violating source also induces the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the neutron at the one-loop level. If the new CP-violating phase is not suppressed, it is shown, the $t$-squark transport can lead to baryon asymmetry consisten…
The muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment (MDM) is calculated in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). In this paper, we discuss how the muon MDM depends on the parameters in MSSM in detail. We show that the contribution of the superparticle-loop becomes significant especially when $\tanβ$ is large. Numerically, it becomes $O(10^{-8}-10^{-9})$ in a wide parameter space, which is within the reach of the new Brookhaven E821 experiment.
We point out that heavy new physics contributions in leptonic dipole moments and high-energy cross-sections of lepton pairs into Higgs bosons and photons are connected model-independently. In particular, we demonstrate that a muon collider, running at center-of-mass energies of several TeV, can provide a unique test of new physics in the muon g-2 through the study of high-energy processes such as mu+ mu- -> h gamma. This high-energy test would be of the utmost importance to shed light on the long-standing muon g-2 anomaly as it is not affected by the hadronic and experimental uncertainties ent…
An Effective Field Theory (EFT) analysis of the magnetic moment of the muon is discussed. The expression for the dipole moment is given in terms of operator coefficients of the low-energy effective field theory (LEFT) and the Standard Model effective field theory (SMEFT), where one-loop renormalization group improved perturbation theory, the one-loop matching from SMEFT onto LEFT as well as one-loop lepton matrix elements of the effective-theory operators were taken into account. Interestingly only a very limited set of the SMEFT operators is able to explain the current deviation of the magnet…
The electric dipole moment of the electron is studied in detail in an extended mirror fermion model with the following unique features of (a) right-handed neutrinos are non-sterile and have masses at the electroweak scale, and (b) a horizontal symmetry of the tetrahedral group is used in the lepton and scalar sectors. We study the constraint on the parameter space of the model imposed by the latest ACME experimental limit on electron electric dipole moment. Other low energy experimental observables such as the anomalous magnetic dipole moment of the muon, charged lepton flavor violating proces…
Recently, the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations reported the latest experimental upper limits on the branching ratios of the lepton flavor violating (LFV) 125 GeV Higgs boson decays, $h\rightarrow eμ$, $h\rightarrow eτ$, and $h\rightarrow μτ$. In this paper, we mainly investigate the LFV Higgs boson decays $h\rightarrow eμ$, $h\rightarrow eτ$, and $h\rightarrow μτ$ in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model with local $\emph{B-L}$ gauge symmetry. At the same time, the corresponding constraints from the LFV rare decays $μ\rightarrow eγ$, $τ\rightarrow eγ$, $τ\rightarrow μγ$, and m…
We study the electric dipole moment (EDM) and the anomalous magnetic dipole moment (MDM) of the muon in the CP-violating Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM). We take into account the contributions from the chargino- and neutralino-mediated one-loop graphs and the dominant two-loop Higgs-mediated Barr-Zee diagrams. We improve earlier calculations by incorporating CP-violating Higgs-boson mixing effects and the resummed threshold corrections to the Yukawa couplings of the charged leptons as well as that of the bottom quark. The analytic correlation between the muon EDM …
We propose a leptoquark model simultaneously to explain anomalies of muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment and $b\to s μ\barμ$ in light of experimental reports very recently. Here, we satisfy several stringent constraints such as $μ\to eγ$ and meson mixings. In addition, we find these leptoquarks also play an role in generating tiny neutrino masses at one-loop level without introducing any additional symmetries. We have numerical analysis and show how degrees our parameter space is restricted.
The electric dipole moment of the muon (d_mu) is evaluated in supersymmetric models with nonzero neutrino masses and large neutrino mixing arising from the seesaw mechanism. It is found that if the seesaw mechanism is embedded in the framework of a left-right symmetric gauge structure, the interactions responsible for the right-handed neutrino Majorana masses lead to an enhancement in d_mu. We find d_mu as large as 5. 10^{-23} ecm with a correlated value of (g-2) = 13. 10^{-10}, even for low values of tan beta. This should provide a strong motivation for improving the edm of the muon to the le…
We investigate the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment (MDM), the muon electric dipole moment (EDM) and the lepton-flavour-violating decays of the $τ-$lepton, $τ\to μγ$ and $τ\to 3μ$, in the CP-violating Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with nonuniversal soft-supersymmetry breaking. We evaluate numerically the muon EDM and the branching ratios $B(τ\to μγ)$ and $B(τ\to 3μ)$, after taking into account the experimental constraints from the electron EDM and muon MDM. Upon imposition of the experimental limits on our theoretical predictions for the aforementioned branching ratios and …
The model (Lagrangian) with a peculiar extra U(1)is clearly presented. The assigned extra U(1) gauge charges give a strong constraint to build Lagrangians. The Z' discovery limits are estimated and predicted at the Tevatron and the LHC. The new contributions of the muon anomalous magnetic moment are investigated at one and two loops, and we predict that the deviation from the standard model may be explained. The electron electric dipole moment could also be generated because of the explicit CP violation effect in the Higgs sector, and a sizable contribution is expected for a moderately sized C…
The recent measurement of the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment shows 2.6$σ$ deviation of $a_μ$ from the standard model prediction which can be explained by a chargino-sneutrino loop correction in the supersymmetric models. In this paper we consider extra U(1) models where the $μ$ parameter is radiatively generated. This model predicts the sign of $μ$ is positive in wide parameter regions. But even the 2$σ$ constraint causes a serious contradiction to the experimental bound of the extra neutral gauge boson mass. Although a minimal supergravity scenario is ruled out, a very small window is …
The supersymmetric standard model (SSM) has a CP-violating phase in its gauge-Higgs sector. This new source of CP violation induces the electric dipole moments (EDMs) of the neutron and electron at the one-loop level. The same CP-violating phase generates the EDM of the $W$ boson through one-loop diagrams mediated by the charginos and neutralinos, which leads to the EDMs of the neutron and electron at the two-loop level. We discuss these EDMs, assuming that the CP-violating phase has the magnitude of order 0.1--1 which may be suggested from the baryon asymmetry of the universe. Even at the two…
We compare predictions for the spin-independent contribution to the neutralino-proton scattering cross section $\sig$ and for the anomalous magnetic dipole moment of the muon, $a_μ= (g_μ-2)/2$, in models with gravity-mediated supersymmetry breaking. We nearly always find a positive correlation between these two measurables, i.e. scenarios with larger $a_μ$ also tend to have larger $\sig$, but the detailed prediction differs greatly between models. In particular, we find that for the popular mSUGRA scenario with universal soft breaking masses at the scale of Grand Unification, measurements of $…
The detection of ultralight dark matter through interactions with nucleons, electrons, and photons has been explored in depth. In this work we propose to use precision muon experiments, specifically muon g-2 and electric dipole moment measurements, to detect ultralight dark matter that couples predominantly to muons. We set direct, terrestrial limits on DM-muon interactions using existing g-2 data, and show that a time-resolved reanalysis of ongoing and upcoming precession experiments will be sensitive to dark matter signals. Intriguingly, we also find that the current muon g-2 anomaly can be …
We study the muon magnetic dipole moment and the Higgs mass in the framework of the supersymmetric SU(5) models. In this analysis, all the relevant parameters in the Lagrangian are taken to be free; in particular, assumption of the universal scalar mass is not adopted. Negative search for the Higgs boson at the LEP II experiment sets an important constraint on the supersymmetric contribution to the muon magnetic dipole moment a_μ(SUSY). It is shown that, for a fixed value of the lightest Higgs mass, the maximum possible value of a_μ(SUSY) becomes significantly larger in the general SU(5) case …
We study if a sizeable muon electric dipole can arise in supersymmetric frameworks able to account for the tight experimental bounds on sfermion masses, like an appropriate flavor symmetry, or like a flavor-blind mechanism of SUSY breaking (in presence of radiative corrections charchteristic of GUT models, or due to Yukawa couplings of neutrinos in see-saw models). In some cases it is possible to evade the naive scaling d_mu/d_e = m_mu/m_e and obtain a d_mu as large as 10^{-22--23} e cm. In most cases d_mu is around 10^{-24--25} e cm and (d_mu/d_e)/(m_mu/m_e) is only slightly different from on…
We study a simple one-loop induced neutrino mass model that contains both bosonic and fermionic dark matter candidates and has the capacity to explain the muon anomalous magnetic moment anomaly. We perform a comprehensive analysis by taking into account the relevant constraints of charged lepton flavor violation, electric dipole moments, and neutrino oscillation data. We examine the constraints from lepton flavor-changing $Z$ boson decays at one-loop level, particularly when the involved couplings contribute to the muon $g-2$. It is found that $\text{BR}(Z\to μτ)\simeq (10^{-7}$ - $10^{-6})$ w…
We perform a model-independent analysis of the magnetic and electric dipole moments of the muon and electron. We give expressions for the dipole moments in terms of operator coefficients of the low-energy effective field theory (LEFT) and the Standard Model effective field theory (SMEFT). We use one-loop renormalization group improved perturbation theory, including the one-loop matching from SMEFT onto LEFT, and one-loop lepton matrix elements of the effective-theory operators. Semileptonic four-fermion operators involving light quarks give sizable non-perturbative contributions to the dipole …
The electric dipole moment of the muon ($d_μ$) is evaluated in a two Higgs doublet model with a softly broken discrete symmetry. For $\tanβ\equiv |v_2|/|v_1| \sim 1$, contributions from two loop diagrams involving the $t$ quark and the $W$ boson dominate; while for $\tanβ\gsim 10$, contributions from two loop diagrams involving the $b$ quark and the $τ$ lepton are dominant. For $8 \gsim \tanβ\gsim 4$, significant cancellation occurs among the contributions from two loop diagrams and the one loop contribution dominates for $\tanβ\sim 7$. For $\tanβ\gsim 15$, the calculated $d_μ$ can be close to…
We are proposing a new method to carry out a dedicated search for a permanent electric dipole moment (EDM) of the muon with a sensitivity at a level of 10^{-24} e cm. The experimental design exploits the strong motional electric field sensed by relativistic particles in a magnetic storage ring. As a key feature, a novel technique has been invented in which the g-2 precession is compensated with radial electric field. This technique will benefit greatly when the intense muon sources advocated by the developers of the muon storage rings and the muon colliders become available.
Contribution of the strong CP angle, $\barθ$, to the Wilson Coefficients of electron and muon electric dipole moment (EDM) operators are discussed. Previously, $\barθ$ contribution to the electron EDM operator was calculated by Choi and Hong. However, the effect of CP-violating three meson coupling was missing there. We include this missing contribution for the first time in the literature, and reevaluate the Wilson coefficients of the lepton EDM operator. We obtain $d_e = - (2.2-8.6) \times 10^{-28} \barθ$ e-cm which is 15 - 70 % of the result obtained in Choi and Hong. We also estimated the …
We study the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment in supersymmetric theories. The impact of the recent Brookhaven E821 experimental measurement on both model-independent and model-dependent supersymmetric parameter spaces is discussed in detail. We find that values of tanβas low as 3 can be obtained while remaining within the E821 one-sigma bound. This requires a light smuon; however, we show that, somewhat surprisingly, no model-independent bound can be placed on the mass of the lightest chargino for any tanβgreater than or equal to 3. We also show that the maximum contributions to the anoma…
The electric dipole moment of the muon ($d_μ$) is evaluated in a two Higgs doublet model with a softly broken discrete symmetry. The leading contributions from both one loop and two loop diagrams are considered. For $\tanβ\equiv |v_2|/|v_1|$ close to one, contributions from two loop diagrams involving the $t$ quark and the $W$ boson dominate; while for $\tanβ\agt 10$, contributions from two loop diagrams involving the $b$ quark and the $τ$ lepton are dominant. In these two regions, $d_μ\approx (m_μ/m_e) d_e$. For $8 \agt \tanβ\agt 4$, significant cancellation occurs among the contributions fro…
