Deep learning has recently demonstrated its promising performance for vision-based parking-slot detection. However, very few existing methods explicitly take into account learning the link information of the marking-points, resulting in complex post-processing and erroneous detection. In this paper, we propose an attentional graph neural network based parking-slot detection method, which refers the marking-points in an around-view image as graph-structured data and utilize graph neural network to aggregate the neighboring information between marking-points. Without any manually designed post-processing, the proposed method is end-to-end trainable. Extensive experiments have been conducted on public benchmark dataset, where the proposed method achieves state-of-the-art accuracy. Code is publicly available at \url{https://github.com/Jiaolong/gcn-parking-slot}.
The automatic parking is being massively developed by car manufacturers and providers. Until now, there are two problems with the automatic parking. First, there is no openly-available segmentation labels of parking slot on panoramic surround view (PSV) dataset. Second, how to detect parking slot and road structure robustly. Therefore, in this paper, we build up a public PSV dataset. At the same time, we proposed a highly fused convolutional network (HFCN) based segmentation method for parking slot and lane markings based on the PSV dataset. A surround-view image is made of four calibrated ima…

While real-time parking slot detection plays a critical role in valet parking systems, existing methods have limited success in real-world applications. We argue two reasons accounting for the unsatisfactory performance: \romannumeral1, The available datasets have limited diversity, which causes the low generalization ability. \romannumeral2, Expert knowledge for parking slot detection is under-estimated. Thus, we annotate a large-scale benchmark for training the network and release it for the benefit of community. Driven by the observation of various parking lots in our benchmark, we propose …

This paper proposes an end-to-end trainable one-stage parking slot detection method for around view monitor (AVM) images. The proposed method simultaneously acquires global information (entrance, type, and occupancy of parking slot) and local information (location and orientation of junction) by using a convolutional neural network (CNN), and integrates them to detect parking slots with their properties. This method divides an AVM image into a grid and performs a CNN-based feature extraction. For each cell of the grid, the global and local information of the parking slot is obtained by applyin…
Autonomous parking systems start with the detection of available parking slots. Parking slot detection performance has been dramatically improved by deep learning techniques. Deep learning-based object detection methods can be categorized into one-stage and two-stage approaches. Although it is well-known that the two-stage approach outperforms the one-stage approach in general object detection, they have performed similarly in parking slot detection so far. We consider this is because the two-stage approach has not yet been adequately specialized for parking slot detection. Thus, this paper pr…

For vehicles equipped with the automatic parking system, the accuracy and speed of the parking slot detection are crucial. But the high accuracy is obtained at the price of low speed or expensive computation equipment, which are sensitive for many car manufacturers. In this paper, we proposed a detector using CNN(convolutional neural networks) for faster speed and smaller model size while keeps accuracy. To achieve the optimal balance, we developed a strategy to select the best receptive fields and prune the redundant channels automatically after each training epoch. The proposed model is capa…
In this paper, we proposed a novel and practical solution for the real-time indoor localization of autonomous driving in parking lots. High-level landmarks, the parking slots, are extracted and enriched with labels to avoid the aliasing of low-level visual features. We then proposed a robust method for detecting incorrect data associations between parking slots and further extended the optimization framework by dynamically eliminating suboptimal data associations. Visual fiducial markers are introduced to improve the overall precision. As a result, a semantic map of the parking lot can be esta…
In this paper, we develop a method to detect vacant parking spaces in an environment with unclear segments and contours with the help of MATLAB image processing capabilities. Due to the anomalies present in the parking spaces, such as uneven illumination, distorted slot lines and overlapping of cars. The present-day conventional algorithms have difficulties processing the image for accurate results. The algorithm proposed uses a combination of image pre-processing and false contour detection techniques to improve the detection efficiency. The proposed method also eliminates the need to employ …
For the self-driving and automatic parking, perception is the basic and critical technique, moreover, the detection of lane markings and parking slots is an important part of visual perception. In this paper, we use the semantic segmentation method to segment the area and classify the class of lane makings and parking slots on panoramic surround view (PSV) dataset. We propose the DFNet and make two main contributions, one is dynamic loss weights, and the other is residual fusion block (RFB). Dynamic loss weights are varying from classes, calculated according to the pixel number of each class i…

Limited urban parking space combined with urbanization has necessitated the development of smart parking systems that can communicate the availability of parking slots to the end users. Towards this, various deep learning based solutions using convolutional neural networks have been proposed for parking space occupation detection. Though these approaches are robust to partial obstructions and lighting conditions, their performance is found to degrade in the presence of haze conditions. Looking in this direction, this paper investigates the use of dehazing networks that improves the performance…

An improvement in technology is linearly related to time and time-relevant problems. It has been seen that as time progresses, the number of problems humans face also increases. However, technology to resolve these problems tends to improve as well. One of the earliest existing problems which started with the invention of vehicles was parking. The ease of resolving this problem using technology has evolved over the years but the problem of parking still remains unsolved. The main reason behind this is that parking does not only involve one problem but it consists of a set of problems within it…
