We compute the $O(α_s)$ corrections to the Wilson coefficients of the dimension five operators in inclusive semileptonic $B$ decays in the limit of a massless final quark. Our calculation agrees with reparameterization invariance and with previous results for the total width and places constraints on the shape functions that enter those decays.
The nonleptonic two-body $Λ_b\rightarrow Λψ$ decays with $ψ=J/ψ$ or $ψ(2S)$ are investigated based on the perturbative QCD approach. These are color-suppressed processes in which the nonfactorizable contributions are confirmed to be dominant. Angular momentum conservation allows us to describe the concerned decays by four independent complex helicity amplitudes. It is observed that the negative-helicity states for the $Λ$ baryon are preferred as expected in the left-handed nature of the charged-current interaction. The obtained results for the helicity amplitudes are used to compute the branch…
The perturbative QCD (PQCD) approach based on $k_T$ factorization has made a great achievement for the QCD calculation of the hadronic B decays. Regulating the endpoint divergence by the transverse momentum of quarks in the propagators, one can do the perturbation calculation for kinds of diagrams including the annihilation type diagrams. In this paper, we review the current status of PQCD factorization calculation of two-body charmless $B\to PP, PV, VV$ decays up to the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections. two new power suppressed terms in decaying amplitudes are also taken into accou…
We determine $|V_{cb}|$ using the third-order perturbative series for the inclusive semileptonic $B$ decay width and for the masses of the bottomonium 1S states. We use the masses of $η_b(1S)$ and $Υ(1S)$ as short-distance masses and point out that there is a sizable difference of $|V_{cb}|$ between the two 1S mass schemes. This is the dominant error of our determination and stems from insufficiency to describe theoretically the observed mass splitting of the bottomonium 1S states. We also study the significance of the $\mathcal{O}(Λ_{\overline{\rm MS}}^2)$ non-perturbative effects in HQET wit…
Constraints on Higher-Order Perturbative Corrections in $b\to u$ Semileptonic Decays from Residual Renormalization-Scale Dependence
Many lattice studies of heavy quark diffusion originate from a colour-electric correlator, obtained as a leading term after an expansion in the inverse of the heavy-quark mass. In view of the fact that the charm quark is not particularly heavy, we consider subleading terms in the expansion. Working out correlators up to $O(1/M^2)$, we argue that the leading corrections are suppressed by $O(T/M)$, and one of them can be extracted from a colour-magnetic correlator. The corresponding transport coefficient is non-perturbative already at leading order in the weak-coupling expansion, and therefore r…
In this paper we calculate the power corrections to the pion transition form factor within the framework of perturbative QCD approach on the basis of $k_T$ factorization. The power suppressed contributions from higher twist pion wave functions and the hadronic structure of photon are investigated. We find that there exists strong cancellation between the two kinds contributions, thus the total power corrections considered currently are very small, and the prediction of the leading power contribution with joint resummation improved perturbative QCD approach is almost unchanged. This result conf…
The short-distance behaviour of the hadronic light-by-light (HLbL) contribution to $(g-2)_μ$ has recently been studied by means of an operator product expansion in a background electromagnetic field. The leading term in this expansion has been shown to be given by the massless quark loop, and the non-perturbative corrections are numerically very suppressed. Here, we calculate the perturbative QCD correction to the massless quark loop. The correction is found to be fairly small compared to the quark loop as far as we study energy scales where the perturbative running for the QCD coupling is wel…
The two-body B_c {\to} D^{(*)}_{(s)}P, D^{(*)}_{(s)}V decays in the Perturbative QCD Approach
We make a systematic investigation on the two-body nonleptonic decays B_c { \to } D^{(*)}_{(s)}P, D^{(*)}_{(s)}V, by employing the perturbative QCD approach based on k_T factorization, where P and V denote any light pseudoscalar meson and vector meson, respectively. We predict the branching ratios and direct CP-asymmetries of these B_c decays and also the transverse polarization fractions of B_c { \to } D^{*}_{(s)}V decays. It is found that the non-factorizable emission diagrams and annihilation type diagrams have remarkable effects on the physical observables in many channels, especially the …
