We study fixed loci of antisymplectic involutions on projective hyperkähler manifolds of $\mathrm{K3}^{[n]}$-type. When the involution is induced by an ample class of square 2 in the Beauville-Bogomolov-Fujiki lattice, we show that the number of connected components of the fixed locus is equal to the divisibility of the class, which is either 1 or 2.
Let X be a holomorphic symplectic manifold, of dimension divisible by 4, and s an antisymplectic involution of X . The fixed locus F of s is a Lagrangian submanifold of X ; we show that its Â-genus is 1. As an application, we determine all possibilities for the Chern numbers of F when X is a deformation of the Hilbert square of a K3 surface.

Let $p\in X$ be the germ of a cusp singularity and let $ι$ be an antisymplectic involution, that is an involution such that there exists a nowhere vanishing holomorphic 2-form $Ω$ on $X\setminus \{p\}$ for which $ι^*(Ω)=-Ω$. Assume also that the involution is fixed point free on $X\setminus\{p\}$. We prove that a sufficient condition for such a singularity equipped with an antisymplectic involution to be equivariantly smoothable is the existence of a Looijenga (or anticanonical) pair $(Y,D)$ that admits an involution free on $Y\setminus D$ and that reverses the orientation of $D$. This work al…
K3-surfaces with antisymplectic involution and compatible symplectic actions of finite groups are considered. In this situation actions of large finite groups of symplectic transformations are shown to arise via double covers of Del Pezzo surfaces. A complete classification of K3-surfaces with maximal symplectic symmetry is obtained.
In this dissertation classification problems for K3-surfaces with finite group actions are considered. Special emphasis is put on K3-surfaces with antisymplectic involutions and compatible actions of symplectic transformations. Given a finite group $G$ it is investigated if it can act in a compatible fashion on a K3-surfaces $X$ with antisymplectic involution and to what extend the action of $G$ determines the geometry of $X$. If $G$ has large order or rich structure a precise description of $X$ as a branched double cover of a Del Pezzo surface is obtained. In particular, this leads to classif…
We study the geometry of some moduli spaces of twisted sheaves on K3 surfaces. In particular we introduce induced automorphisms from a K3 surface on moduli spaces of twisted sheaves on this K3 surface. As an application we prove the unirationality of moduli spaces of irreducible holomorphic symplectic manifolds of $K3^{[2]}$-type admitting non symplectic involutions with invariant lattices $U(2)\oplus D_4(-1)$ or $U(2)\oplus E_8(-2)$. This complements the results obtained in [Mongardi and Wandel 2015], [Bossiere et al 2016], and the results from [arXiv:1603.00403] about the geometry of IHS fou…
In this paper we adapt some techniques developed for K3 surfaces, to study the geometry of a family of projective varieties in $\Pl_K^2 \times \Pl_K^2 \times \Pl_K^2$ defined as the intersection of a form of degree $(2,2,2)$ and a form of degree $(1,1,1)$. Members of the family will be equipped with dominant rational self-maps and we will study the actions of those maps on divisors and compute the first dynamical degrees of the composition of any pair.
Building on the work of Casagrande-Codogni-Fanelli, we develop our study on the birational geometry of the Fano fourfold $Y=M_{S,-K_S}$ which is the moduli space of semi-stable rank-two torsion-free sheaves with $c_1=-K_S$ and $c_2=2$ on a polarised degree-one del Pezzo surface $(S,-K_S)$. Based on the relation between $Y$ and the blow-up of $\mathbb{P}^4$ in $8$ points, we describe completely the base scheme of the anticanonical system $|{-}K_Y|$. We also prove that the Bertini involution $ι_Y$ of $Y$, induced by the Bertini involution $ι_S$ of $S$, preserves every member in $|{-}K_Y|$. In pa…
We show that a Hilbert scheme of conics on a Fano fourfold double cover of $\mathbb{P}^2\times\mathbb{P}^2$ ramified along a divisor of bidegree $(2,2)$ admits a $\mathbb{P}^1$-fibration with base being a hyper-Kähler fourfold. We investigate the geometry of such fourfolds relating them with degenerated EPW cubes, with elements in the Brauer groups of $K3$ surfaces of degree $2$, and with Verra threefolds studied in [Ver04]. These hyper-Kähler fourfolds admit natural involutions and complete the classification of geometric realizations of anti-symplectic involutions on hyper-Kähler $4$-folds o…
Any set of $σ$-Hermitian matrices of size $n \times n$ over a field with involution $σ$ gives rise to a projective line in the sense of ring geometry and a projective space in the sense of matrix geometry. It is shown that the two concepts are based upon the same set of points, up to some notational differences.
We complete the analysis on the birational rigidity of quasismooth Fano 3-fold deformation families appearing in the Graded Ring Database as a complete intersection. When such a deformation family $X$ has Fano index at least 2 and is minimally embedded in a weighted projective space in codimension 2, we determine which cyclic quotient singularity is a maximal centre. If a cyclic quotient singularity is a maximal centre, we construct a Sarkisov link to a non-isomorphic Mori fibre space or a birational involution. This allows, in particular, the construction of new examples of Fano 3-folds of co…
The Gale transform, an involution on sets of points in projective space, appears in a multitude of guises, in subjects as diverse as optimization, coding theory, theta-functions, and recently in our proof that certain general sets of points fail to satisfy the minimal free resolution conjecture. In this paper we reexamine the Gale transform in the light of modern algebraic geometry. We give a more general definition, in the context of finite (locally) Gorenstein subschemes. We put in modern form a number of the more remarkable examples discovered in the past, and we add new constructions and c…
We consider the moduli space M_r of polygons with fixed side lengths in five-dimensional eucledian space. We analyze the local structure of its singularities and exhibit a real-analytic equivalence between M_r and a weighted quotient of the n-fold product of the quaternionic projective line HP^1 by the diagonal PSL(2,H)-action. We explore the relation between M_r and the fixed point set of an anti-symplectic involution on a GIT quotient Gr(2,4)^n/SL(4,C). We generalize the Gel'fand-MacPherson correspondence to more general complex Grassmannians and to the quaternionic context, and realize our …
We consider the canonical action of the compact torus $T^4$ on the Grassmann manifold $G_{4,2}$ and prove that the orbit space $G_{4,2}/T^4$ is homeomorphic to the sphere $S^5$. We prove that the induced differentiable structure on $S^5$ is not the smooth one and describe the smooth and the singular points. We also consider the action of $T^4$ on $CP^5$ induced by the composition of the second symmetric power $T^4\subset T^6$ and the standard action of $T^6$ on $CP^5$ and prove that the orbit space $CP^5/T^4$ is homeomorphic to the join $CP^2\ast S^2$. The Plücker embedding $G_{4,2}\subset CP^…
