In this paper, based on the classical K. Yano's formula, we first establish an optimal integral inequality for compact Lagrangian submanifolds in the complex space forms, which involves the Ricci curvature in the direction $J\vec{H}$ and the norm of the covariant differentiation of the second fundamental form $h$, where $J$ is the almost complex structure and $\vec{H}$ is the mean curvature vector field. Second and analogously, for compact Legendrian submanifolds in the Sasakian space forms with Sasakian structure $(φ,ξ,η,g)$, we also establish an optimal integral inequality involving the Ricci curvature in the direction $φ\vec{H}$ and the norm of the modified covariant differentiation of the second fundamental form. The integral inequality is optimal in the sense that all submanifolds attaining the equality are completely classified. As direct consequences, we obtain new and global characterizations for the Whitney spheres in complex space forms as well as the contact Whitney spheres in Sasakian space forms. Finally, we show that, just as the Whitney spheres in complex space forms, the contact Whitney spheres in Sasakian space forms are locally conformally flat manifolds with sectional curvatures non-constant.
In \cite{Zh} \cite{LY} Zhang, Luo and Yin initiated the study of Lagrangian submanifolds satisfying ${\rm \nabla^*} T=0$ or ${\rm \nabla^*\nabla^*}T=0$ in $\mathbb{C}^n$ or $\mathbb{CP}^n$, where $T ={\rm \nabla^*}\tilde{h}$ and $\tilde{h}$ is the Lagrangian trace-free second fundamental form. They proved several rigidity theorems for Lagrangian surfaces satisfying ${\rm \nabla^*} T=0$ or ${\rm \nabla^*\nabla^*}T=0$ in $\mathbb{C}^2$ under proper small energy assumption and gave new characterization of the Whitney spheres in $\mathbb{C}^2$. In this paper we extend these results to Lagrangian s…
In this paper, we study Lagrangian submanifolds satisfying ${\rm \nabla^*} T=0$ introduced by Zhang \cite{Zh} in the complex space forms $N(4c)(c=0\ or \ 1)$, where $T ={\rm \nabla^*}\tilde{h}$ and $\tilde{h}$ is the Lagrangian trace-free second fundamental form. We obtain some Simons' type integral inequalities and rigidity theorems for such Lagrangian submanifolds. Moreover we study Lagrangian submanifolds in $\mathbb{C}^n$ satisfying $\nabla^*\nabla^*T=0$ and introduce a flow method related to them.
For an immersed Lagrangian submanifold, let $\check{A}$ be the Lagrangian trace-free second fundamental form. In this note we consider the equation $\nabla^*T=0$ on Lagrangian surfaces immersed in $\mathbb{C}^2$, where $T=-2\nabla^*(\check{A}\lrcornerω)$, and we prove a gap theorem for the Whitney sphere as a solution to this equation.

We explicitly write down all eigenvalues of the Rumin Laplacian on the standard contact spheres, and express the analytic torsion functions associated with the {Rumin complex} in terms of the Riemann zeta function. In particular, we find that the functions vanish at the origin and determine the analytic torsions.
We consider contact manifolds equipped with Carnot-Caratheodory metrics, and show that the Rumin complex is respected by Sobolev mappings: Pansu pullback induces a chain mapping between the smooth Rumin complex and the distributional Rumin complex. As a consequence, the Rumin flat complex -- the analog of the Whitney flat complex in the setting of contact manifolds -- is bilipschitz invariant. We also show that for Sobolev mappings between general Carnot groups, Pansu pullback induces a chain mapping when restricted to a certain differential ideal of the de Rham complex. Both results are appli…
It is well known that a unit sphere admits Sasakian 3-structure. Also, Sasakian manifolds are locally isometric to a unit sphere under several curvature and critical conditions. So, a natural question is: Does there exist any curvature or critical condition under which a Sasakian 3-manifold represents a geometrical object other than the unit sphere? In this regard, as an extension of the $\ast$-Ricci soliton, the notion of $\ast$-Ricci-Yamabe soliton is introduced and studied on two classes contact metric manifolds. A $(2n + 1)$-dimensional non-Sasakian $N(k)$-contact metric manifold admitting…

We consider convex contact spheres $Y$ all of whose Reeb orbits are closed. Any such $Y$ admits a stratification by the periods of closed Reeb orbits. We show that $Y$ "resembles" a contact ellipsoid: any stratum of $Y$ is an integral homology sphere, and the sequence of Ekeland-Hofer spectral invariants of $Y$ coincides with the full sequence of action values, each one repeated according to its multiplicity.
We prove that the group of strict contactomorphisms of the standard tight contact structure on the three-sphere deformation retracts to its unitary subgroup U(2).
This paper presents a new kinematic model based on the Darboux frame for motion control and planning. In this work, we show that an underactuated model of a spin-rolling sphere on a plane with five states and three inputs can be transformed into a fully-actuated one by a given Darboux frame transformation. This nonlinear state transformation establishes a geometric model that is different from conventional state-space ones. First, a kinematic model of the Darboux frame at the contact point of the rolling sphere is established. Next, we propose a virtual surface that is trapped between the sphe…
