Strange and charmed baryon productions from proton-antiproton collisions are studied in the effective Lagrangian and Regge approaches. We include only the $t$-channel dynamics which is dominant for the diffractive region that is relevant in the present discussions. For strangeness productions, the coupling constants for $K$ meson are determined by $SU(3)$ relations while other unknown parameters for $K^{*}$ couplings and for form factors are fixed by existing observed data for strangeness productions. By extrapolating the amplitudes for strangeness productions to those for charm, we predict charm production cross sections. It turns out that the total cross sections are $10^{4}$ to $10^{5}$ smaller than those of strangeness productions, depending on the final states. By using the known total cross sections for strangeness, $\sim 10^{2} μb$ for $Λ\barΛ$ and, $\sim 10^{1} μb$ for $Σ\barΛ$ the total cross sections for charm productions are predicted to be $\sim 10^{-2} μb$ for $Λ_{c} \barΛ_c$, $\sim 10^{-3} μb$ for $Σ_{c} \barΛ_c$, and $\sim 10^{-4} μb$ for $Σ_{c} \barΣ_c$. Our results can be tested in the future experiments at $\bar{\text{P}}$ANDA.
The elaborate analysis of spectrum of charmonium states and charmed hybrids in the mass region over DD-threshold is given. The combined approach based on the potential model and relativistic spherical symmetric top model for decay products has been proposed. The experimental data from different collaborations were analyzed. Especial attention was given to the new states with the hidden charm discovered recently. Eight of these states may be interpreted as higher laying radial excited charmoniumstates. Butmuchmore data on different decay modes are needed for deeper analysis. These data can be d…
We study the production of charmed mesons (D, D_s) in antiproton-proton annihilation close to the reaction thresholds. The elementary charm production process is described by baryon exchange and in the constituent quark model, respectively. Effects of the interactions in the initial and final states are taken into account rigorously. The calculations are performed in close analogy to our earlier study on pbarp to KbarK by connecting the processes via SU(4) flavor symmetry. Our predictions for the DDbar production cross section are in the order of 10^{-2} -- 10^{-1} mu b. They turned out to be …
We study pion induced reactions for charmed baryons $B$, $π$ + N $\rightarrow$ $D^*$ + $B$. First we estimate charm production rates in comparison with strangeness production using a Regge model which is dominated by vector ($D^*$ or $K^*$ ) Reggeon exchange. Then we examine the production rates of various charmed baryons $B$ in a quark-diquark model. We find that the production of excited states are not necessarily suppressed, a sharp contrast to strangeness production, which is a unique feature of the charm production with a large momentum transfer.
We investigate the structure and formation of charmed meson--nucleus systems, with the aim of understanding the charmed meson--nucleon interactions and the properties of the charmed mesons in the nuclear medium. The $\bar{D}$ mesic nuclei are of special interest, since they have tiny decay widths due to the absence of strong decays for the $\bar{D} N$ pair. Employing an effective model for the $\bar{D} N$ and $D N$ interactions and solving the Klein--Gordon equation for $\bar{D}$ and $D$ in finite nuclei, we find that the $D^{-}$-${}^{11}\rm{B}$ system has $1 s$ and $2p$ mesic nuclear states a…
We estimate final state interactions in the B-meson decays into two light vector mesons by the Regge model. We consider Pomeron exchange and charmed Regge trajectories that can relate intermediate charmed particles to the final state. The Regge poles have various helicity-flip residues, which allows a change from the longitudinal to transverse polarization. In this way a significant reduction of the longitudinal polarization fraction can be produced. In the factorization approximation we find agreement with recent data from the BaBar and Belle collaborations in the B => K* phi decay channel, a…
In the framework of Regge phenomenology, masses of the charmed states $c\bar{q} (q=u,d,s)$ lying on the $1^3S_1$-like trajectories are estimated. The overall agreement between our estimated masses and the recent predictions given by modified quark models[hep-ph/0605019, hep-ph/0608011, hep-ph/0608139] is good. Masses of the observed charmed states $D_{s0}(2317)$, $D_{sJ}(2860)$ and $D_{sJ}(2690)$/$D_{sJ}(2700)$ can be reasonably reproduced in the picture of these charmed states as simple quark-antiquark configurations. We therefore suggest the $D_{s0}(2317)$ can be identified as the $c\bar{s}(…
In the present work, we study the production problem of the charmed baryon $Λ_c(2860)^+$ at $\overline{\mbox{P}}$ANDA. With the $J^P=\frac{3}{2}^+$ assignment to $Λ_c(2860)^+$, an effective Lagrangian approach is adopted to calculate the cross section of $p\bar{p} \to Λ_c^-Λ_c(2860)^+$. The Dalitz plot analysis and the $D^0p$ invariant mass spectrum distribution are also given for the $p\bar{p} \to Λ_c^-Λ_c(2860)^+ \to Λ_c^-pD^0$ process. The numerical results show that the total cross section may reach up to about 10 $ μ$b. With the designed luminosity of $\overline{\mbox{P}}$ANDA ($2\times10…
Based on available data for mesonic resonances of light, medium and heavy flavors, we have performed a global analysis to construct the corresponding linear Regge trajectories. These have been supplemented by results from various phenomenological models presented in the literature. A satisfactory formula is found for the dependence of the intercept and the slope on quark masses. We find reasonable agreement with data on production of charmed hadrons through exchange of our charmed trajectories in the space-like region. When applied to mesons containing the top quark, our results suggest the im…
A short review on charmed and beauty hadron production in the lepton deep inelastic scattering off proton, in proton-proton and proton-antiproton collisions at high energies is presented. It is shown that the existing theoretical and experimental information on charmed and beauty quark distributions in a proton is not satisfactory. A some procedure to study these distributions at LHC energies is suggested.
Stimulated by recent progress made by the LHCb Collaboration in discoveries of new bottom baryons, e.g., the $Ξ_{b}(6227)^{-}$ and the $Σ_{b}(6097)^{\pm}$, we re-examine the orbitally excited spectrum of the charmed and bottom baryons using Regge approach in the heavy quark-diquark picture. The results indicate that the spin-averaged mass spectrum of the orbitally-excited charmed and bottom baryons can be described by a linear Regge relation, which is derived from the rotating QCD string model. By giving further mass-splitting analysis of spin-dependent interactions, we explain the baryons $Ξ_…
We study the productions of charmed baryons ${\bar Λ}_c^- Λ_c^+$, ${\bar Λ}_c^- Σ_c^+$, and ${\bar Σ}^- Σ_c^+$ in the antiproton-proton collisions within an effective Lagrangian model that has only the baryon-meson degrees of freedom and involves the physical hadron masses. The baryon production proceeds via the $t$-channel exchanges of $D^0$ and $D^{*0}$ mesons in the initial collision of the antiproton with the target proton. The distortion effects in the initial and final states are accounted for by using an eikonal approximation-based procedure. We find that the reaction amplitudes of all …
Status of investigations of the new observed charmed strange mesons DsJ(2317), DsJ(2460) and DsJ(2632) is simply listed. A systemic classification to these states with Regge trajectories was made. We found that DsJ(2317) and DsJ(2460) are reasonable to be arranged as (0^+,1^+), but DsJ(2632) seems not possible to be an orbital excited tensor particle. As a byproduct, the non-strange charmed mesons including D'1(2427) and D*(2637) were analyzed also.
Excited states masses of the strange singly charmed baryons are calculated using the non-relativistic approach of hypercentral Constituent Quark Model (hCQM). The hyper-Coulomb plus screened potential is used as a confinement potential with the first order correction. The spin-spin, spin-orbit and spin-tensor interaction terms are included perturbatively. Our calculated masses are allowed to construct the Regge trajectories in both $(n_r, M^2)$ and $(J, M^2)$ planes. The mass spectra and the Regge trajectories study predict the spin-parity of $Ξ{_c(2970)^{+/0}}$, $Ξ{_c(3080)^{+/0}}$, $Ξ{_c(312…
By assuming the existence of (quasi)-linear Regge trajectories for heavy quarkonia in the low energy region, we derive a new, sixth power, meson mass relation which shows good agreement with experiment for both charmed and beauty mesons. This relation may be reduced to a quadratic Gell-Mann-Okubo type formula by fitting the values of the Regge slopes of these (quasi)-linear trajectories. For charmed mesons, such a formula holds with an accuracy of $\sim 1$%, and is in qualitative agreement with the relation obtained previously by the application of the linear spectrum to a meson hexadecuplet.
We study bottomonium hadroproduction in proton-antiproton collisions at the Fermilab Tevatron in the framework of the quasi-multi-Regge kinematics approach and the factorization formalism of non-relativistic QCD at leading order in the strong-coupling constant alpha_s and the relative velocity v of the bound quarks. The transverse-momentum distributions of prompt Upsilon(nS)-meson production measured at the Tevatron are fitted to obtain the non-perturbative long-distance matrix elements for different choices of un-integrated gluon distribution functions of the proton.
The strong decays of $D_1(2420)^0$, $D_2^*(2460)^0$, $D_2^*(2460)^+$, $D_2^*(2460)^-$, $D(2550)^0$, $D_J^*(2600)^0$, $D(2740)^0$, $D_3^*(2750)^0$, $D_3^*(2750)^+$, $D_3^*(2750)^-$, $D_J(3000)^0$, $D{_{J}^*}(3000)^0$ and $D_2^*(3000)^0$ resonance states are analyzed in the heavy quark mass limit of Heavy Quark Effective Theory (HQET). The individual decay rates and the branching ratios among the strong decays determine their spin and parity. From such states the Regge trajectories are constructed in $(J, M^2)$ and $(n_r, M^2)$ planes and further predict the masses of higher excited states (1$^1…
Photoproduction of the charmonium-like state $Z_{c}(4200)$ and the charmed baryon $Λ_{c}^{\ast }(2940)$ is investigated with an effective Lagrangian approach and the Regge trajectories applying to the COMPASS experiment. Combining the experimental data from COMPASS and our theoretical model we estimate the upper limit of $Γ_{Z_{c}(4200)\rightarrow J/ψπ}$ to be of about 37 MeV. Moreover, the possibility to produce $Λ_{c}^{\ast }(2940)$ at COMPASS is discussed. It seems one can try to search for this hadron in the missing mass spectrum since the $t$-channel is dominating for the $Λ_{c}^{\ast }(2…
In this work, we extended our statistical model with charmed and bottomed hadrons, and fit the quark creational probabilities for the heavy quarks, using low energy inclusive charmonium and bottomonium data. With the finalized fit for all the relevant types of quarks (up, down, strange, charm, bottom) at the energy range from a few GeV up to a few tens of GeV's, the model is now considered complete. Some examples are also given for proton-proton, pion-proton, and proton-antiproton collisions with charmonium, bottomonium, and open charm hadrons in the final state.
Antiproton--proton annihilation into light mesons is revisited in the few GeV energy domain, in view of a global description of the existing data. An effective meson model is developed, with mesonic and baryonic degrees od freedom in $s$, $t$, and $u$ channels. Regge factors are added to reproduce the proper energy behavior and the forward and backward peaked behavior. A comparison with existing data and predictions for angular distributions and energy dependence are done for charged and neutral pion pair production.
We study the masses of radial and orbital excited states of nonstrange singly charmed baryons in the framework of hypercentral Constituent Quark Model (hCQM). To obtain the mass spectra, the Coulomb plus screened potential is employed with the first order correction, which gives a relativistic effect of order $\cal{O}$$(1/m)$. The spin-spin, spin-orbit and tensor interactions are included (perturbatively as a spin dependent potential) in order to generate the splitting in mass spectra. We compare our computed mass spectra of nonstrange singly charmed baryons with the other theoretical predicti…
Using the Regge-like formula $(M-m_Q)^2=πσL$ between hadron mass $M$ and angular momentum $L$ with a heavy quark mass $m_Q$ and a string tension $σ$, we analyze all the heavy-light systems, i.e., $D/D_s/B/B_s$ mesons and charmed and bottom baryons.Numerical plots are obtained for all the heavy-light mesons of experimental data whose slope becomes nearly equal to 1/2 of that for light hadrons. Assuming that charmed and bottom baryons consist of one heavy quark and one light cluster of two light quarks (diquark), we apply the formula to all the heavy-light baryons including recently discovered $…
We study the strangeness and charm productions induced by the pion beam, i.e. the $π^-$p $\rightarrow$ $K^{*0}Λ$ and $π^-$p $\rightarrow$ $D^{*-}Λ_c^+$ reactions, based on two different theoretical frameworks: an effective Lagrangian method and a Regge approach. In order to estimate the magnitude of the charm production relative to that of the strangeness production, we assume that the coupling constants for the charmed meson and baryon vertices are the same as those for the strangeness channel. We found that the total cross section for the charm production was about $10^3 - 10^6$ times smalle…
This work presents the subtraction procedure and the Regge cut in the logarithmic Regge pole approach. The subtraction mechanism leads to the same asymptotic behavior as previously obtained in the non-subtraction case. The Regge cut, on the other hand, introduces a clear role to the non-leading contributions for the asymptotic behavior of the total cross section. From these results, one introduces some simple parameterization to fit the experimental data for the proton-proton and antiproton-proton total cross section above some minimum value up to the cosmic-ray. The fit parameters obtained ar…
Various string models of mesons and baryons include a string carrying 2 or 3 massive points (quarks or antiquarks). Rotational states (planar uniform rotations) of these systems generate quasilinear Regge trajectories and may be used for describing excited hadron states on these trajectories. For different string models of baryon we are to solve the problem of choice between them and the stability problem for their rotational states. An unexpected result is that for the Y string baryon model these rotations are unstable with respect to small disturbances on the classical level. This instabilit…
We study the production of charmed mesons (D) and baryons (Lambda_c) in antiproton-proton (app) annihilation close to their respective production thresholds. The elementary charm production process is described by either baryon/meson exchange or by quark/gluon dynamics. Effects of the interactions in the initial and final states are taken into account rigorously. The calculations are performed in close analogy to our earlier study on app -> antiLambda-Lambda and app -> antiK-K by connecting the processes via SU(4) flavor symmetry. Our predictions for the antiLambda_c-Lambda_c production cross …
This thesis comprises two investigations, both connected with the attempt to understand Regge theory in the framework of QCD. The first is about how the odderon, a Reggeon carrying no charge which is odd under charge conjugation, couples to the proton. The second concerns unitarity corrections to the BFKL equation which describes the pomeron, a Reggeon with the quantum numbers of the vacuum. In the first part of this thesis, the odderon exchange contribution to elastic proton-proton and proton-antiproton scattering is computed. A geometrical transverse-space model of the proton is constructed …
Mass spectra of excited states of the singly charmed baryons are calculated using the hypercentral description of three body system. The baryon consist of a charm quark and light quarks (u, d and s) are studied in the framework of QCD motivated constituent quark model. The form of confinement potential is hyper coloumb plus power potential with potential index $ν$, varying from 0.5 to 2.0. The first order correction to the confinement potential is also incorporated in this approach. The radial as well as orbital excited state masses of $Σ_{c}^{++}, Σ_{c}^+, Σ_{c}^0, Ξ_c^+, Ξ_c^0, Λ_c^+, Ω_c^0$…
We study the production of charmed baryons in the antiproton-proton and antiproton-nucleus interactions within a fully covariant model that is based on an effective Lagrangian approach. The baryon production proceeds via the $t$-channel $D^0$ and $D^{*0}$ meson-exchange diagrams. We have also explored the production of the charm-baryon hypernucleus $^{16}_{Λ_c^+}$O in the antiproton - $^{16}$O collisions. For antiproton beam momenta of interest to the ${\bar P}ANDA$ experiment, the 0$^\circ$ differential cross sections for the formation of $^{16}_{Λ_c^+}$O hypernuclear states with simple parti…
An eikonalized elastic proton-proton and proton-antiproton scattering amplitude, based on the suggestion of a finite sum of ladder diagrams, calculated from QCD and the number of $s-$channel gluon rungs and correspondingly the powers of logarithms in total cross section depends on available increasing energy. Explicit expressions for total cross section involving three and four rungs (four and five prongs), as highest terms, respectively) are fitted to the all available proton-proton and proton-antiproton total cross section data. Predictions for pp total cross section at LHC energy are given …
The production of charmed and beauty hadrons in proton-proton and proton-antiproton collisions at high energies is analyzed within the modified quark-gluon string model (QGSM) including the internal motion of quarks in colliding hadrons. It is shown that using both the QGSM and NLO QCD one can describe the experimental data rather successfully in a wide region of transverse momenta. We also present some predictions for the future experiments on the beauty baryon production in $pp$ collisions at LHC energies and on the charmed meson production in ${\bar p}p$ reactions at GSI energies.
By assuming the existence of (quasi)-linear baryon Regge trajectories, we derive new quadratic Gell-Mann-Okubo type baryon mass relations. These relations are used to predict the masses of the charmed baryons absent from the Baryon Summary Table so far, in good agreement with the predictions of many other approaches.
Integral and derivative dispersion relations (IDR and DDR) are considered for the proton-proton and antiproton-proton forward scattering amplitudes. A scheme for calculation of the corrections to asymptotic form for the DDR is presented. The data on the total proton-proton and antiproton-proton cross sections as well as the data on the ratios $ρ$ of real to imaginary part of the forward scattering amplitudes have been analyzed by the IDR and DDR methods within high-energy Regge models. Regge parametrizations of high-energy total cross sections supplemented by the properly calculated low-energy…
Possible spin-parity quantum numbers for excited charmed baryon resonances are discussed in this work. Our main results are: (i) Among the five newly observed $Ω_c$ states, we have identified $Ω_c(3090)$ and $Ω_c(3119)$ with radially excited $\frac12^+(2S)$ and $\frac32^+(2S)$ states, respectively, and $Ω_c(3000)$ with $\frac12^-(1P)$ and $S=\frac32$. The two states $Ω_c(3050)$ and $Ω_c(3066)$ form a $P$-wave $(\frac32^-,\frac52^-)$ doublet. (ii) The widths of $Ω_c(3066)$ and $Ξ'_c(2930)$ are calculable within the framework of heavy hadron chiral perturbation theory. (iii) Since the width of $…
We present the first NLO QCD analysis of single-diffractive dijet production in proton-antiproton collisions. By comparing the ratio of single- and non-diffractive cross sections to data from the Tevatron, the rapidity-gap survival probability is determined as a function of the momentum fraction of the parton in the antiproton. Assuming Regge factorization, this probability can be interpreted as a suppression factor for the diffractive structure function measured in deep-inelastic scattering at HERA. In contrast to the observations for photoproduction, the suppression factor in proton-antiprot…
Mass spectra of heavy baryons are calculated in the heavy-quark--light-diquark picture in the framework of the QCD-motivated relativistic quark model. The dynamics of light quarks in the diquark as well as the dynamics of the heavy quark and light diquark in the baryon are treated completely relativistically without application of nonrelativistic v/c and heavy quark 1/m_Q expansions. Such approach allows us to get predictions for the heavy baryon masses for rather high orbital and radial excitations. On this basis the Regge trajectories of heavy baryons for orbital and radial excitations are c…
We perform a NLO QCD analysis of single-diffractive dijet production in proton-antiproton collisions. In contrast to the observations for photoproduction, the suppression factor in proton-antiproton colli…
In this talk, we report the study of $π^- p \to K^{*0} Λ$ and $π^- p \to D^{*-} Λ_c^+$ reactions by using an effective Lagrangian method and a hybrid Regge model. The total and differential cross sections for the $K^{*0} Λ$ production are first calculated and then those for the $D^{*-} Λ_c^+$ one are estimated. The two models yield different results, each exhibiting specific features. Our prediction for the charm production provides valuable information about the upcoming J-PARC experiment.
The proton-proton and proton-antiproton inelasticity profiles in the impact parameter display very interesting and sensitive features which cannot be deduced solely from the current large body of high-energy scattering data. In particular, phenomenological studies exhibit a link between the ratio of the real to imaginary parts of the elastic scattering amplitude at a finite momentum transfer, and the corresponding change of character of the inelastic processes from central to peripheral collisions. We describe how a theoretical model, accommodating the existing data, based on the Regge hypothe…
Inclusive production cross sections of the possible exotic state X(3872) in proton-proton, pionp-roton and proton-antiproton collisions are calculated using a statistical based model, which is previously used to describe inclusive charmed and bottomed hadron production cross sections in the low energy region. With the extensions made here, the model is capable to include tetraquarks as well, using the diquark picture of tetraquarks. The evaluated cross section ratio of $Ψ(2S)$ and $X(3872)$ at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV agrees well with the measured value.
We perform next-to-leading order calculations of the single-diffractive and non-diffractive cross sections for dijet production in proton-antiproton collisions at the Tevatron. By comparing their ratio to the data published by the CDF collaboration for two different center-of-mass energies, we deduce the rapidity-gap survival probability as a function of the momentum fraction of the parton in the antiproton. Assuming Regge factorization, this probability can be interpreted as a suppression factor for the diffractive structure function measured in deep-inelastic scattering at HERA. In contrast …
The production of charmed and beauty baryons in proton-proton collisions at high energies is analyzed within the modified quark-gluon string model. We present some predictions for the experiments on the forward beauty baryon production in pp collisions at LHC energies. This analysis allows us to find useful information on the Regge trajectories of the heavy (b barb) mesons and the sea beauty quark distributions in the proton.
We calculate the mass spectra of the singly charmed baryons ($Λ_{c}^{+}$, $Σ_{c}^{0}$, $Ξ_{c}^{0}$ and $Ω_{c}^{0}$) using Hypercentral constituent quark model(hCQM). The hyper color coloumb plus linear potential is used to calculate the masses of positive(upto $J^{p}=\frac{7}{2}^{+}$) and negative parity(upto $J^{p}=\frac{9}{2}^{-}$) excited states. The spin-spin, spin-orbital and tensor interaction terms are also incorporated for mass spectra. We have compared our results with other theoretical predictions and Lattice QCD for each baryons. Moreover, the known experimental results are also rea…
Until now, the first reported doubly charmed baryon $Ξ_{cc}^{+}(3520)$ is still a puzzle. It was discovered and confirmed by SELEX collaboration, but not confirmed by LHCb, BABAR, BELLE, FOCUS, or any other collaboration. In the present paper, by employing Regge phenomenology, we first express the mass of the ground state ($L$=0) doubly charmed baryon $Ω_{cc}^{*+}$ as a function of masses of the well established light baryons and singly charmed baryons. Inserting the recent experimental data, the mass of $Ω_{cc}^{*+}$ is given to be 3809$\pm$36 MeV, which is independent of any unobservable par…
We consider the production of charmed baryons and mesons in the proton-antiproton binary reactions at the energies of the future $\bar{P}$ANDA experiment. To describe these processes in terms of hadronic interaction models, one needs strong couplings of the initial nucleons with the intermediate and final charmed hadrons. Similar couplings enter the models of binary reactions with strange hadrons. For both charmed and strange hadrons we employ the strong couplings and their ratios calculated from QCD light-cone sum rules. In this method finite masses of $c$ and $s$ quarks are taken into accoun…
We report on a detailed investigation of four-body $p p \to p p π^+ π^-$ and $p \bar{p} \to p \bar{p} π^+ π^-$) reactions which constitute an irreducible background to three-body processes $p p \to p p M$, where $M$ is a broad resonance in the $π^+ π^-$ channel, e.g. $M=σ, ρ^{0}, f_{0}(980), f_{2}(1275), f_{0}(1500)$. We include double-diffractive contribution (both pomeron and reggeon exchanges) as well as the pion-pion rescattering contributions. The first process dominates at higher energies and small pion-pion invariant masses while the second becomes important at lower energies and higher…
The production of charmed and beauty hadrons in proton-proton collisions at high energies are analyzed within the modified quark-gluon string model (QGSM) including the internal motion of quarks in colliding hadrons. We present some predictions for the future experiments on the beauty baryon production in $pp$ collisions at LHC energies. This analysis allows us to find interesting information on the Regge trajectories of the heavy (b{\bar b}) mesons and the sea beauty quark distributions in the proton.
In this note we collect and summarize the predictions of the Holography Inspired Stringy Hadron (HISH) model. We list the masses and widths of predicted excited states across the spectrum, based on placing the different hadrons on the non-linear Regge trajectories of a string with massive endpoints. Our predicted states include: (i) Light, heavy-light and heavy-heavy mesons. (ii) Baryons, including charmed, doubly charmed and bottom baryons. (iii) Glueballs, together with a method to disentangle them from flavorless mesons. (iv) Genuine tetraquarks, which are not "molecules" of hadrons, and ar…
Differential cross section of processes with high energy $p(\bar p)p$ collisions in frames of QED: creation of scalar, pseudoscalar and lepton pair - are considered in Weizsäcker - Williams approximation. In frames of QCD processes with conversion of initial proton (antiproton) to fermionic jets accompanied with one gluon jet as well as the state of two gluons and quark-antiquark pair (with out rapidity gap) are considered in frames of effective Reggion action of theory of Lipatov. Process of creation of a Higgs boson accompanied with two fermionic jets is considered. The azimuthal correlation…
Transverse momentum spectra of charmed and beauty mesons produced in proton-proton and proton-antiproton collisions at high energies are analyzed within the modified quark-gluon string model (QGSM) including the internal motion of quarks in colliding hadrons. It is shown that this approach can describe rather satisfactorily the experimental data at not large values of the transverse momentum where the NLO QCD calculation has a big uncertainty. We also show that using both the QGSM and the NLO QCD one can describe these data in a wide region of transverse momenta and give some predictions for t…
In the last couple of years, the LHC has released precise measurements of elastic proton-proton scattering which has become an important guide in the search for selecting phenomenological models and theoretical approaches to understand, in a deeper level, the theory of strong interactions. In this thesis, through the formulation of two models compatible with analyticity and unitarity constraints, we study some aspects concerning the Physics behind hadronic interactions. In particular, we investigate the proton-proton and the antiproton-proton elastic scattering at high energies using a Regge t…
